Atherfield holiday camp Isle of Wight was built in the 1960′s and closed it's doors in 2007. The Channel 4 reality show 'Wakey Wakey Campers' was filmed there in 2005.

I like the concept of this place. Our family still holiday at butlins,and I think that this reminds us of some of the things that have been lost in the family holiday's of today.

We went a canvan holiday in skgness in 1998 (not butlins) I remember the holidays at the seaside when I was a child in Scarborough same guest house (hotel) can still taste those breadrolls and butter, even though the guest house has gone

I regret that these have all passed. I would have enjoyed taking part in this holiday. Alas today it is all about money, and passive submission to "tourist trap" services. Sigh.

the woman in pink that went home was so stuck up on the condition of everything I found it a bit stupid that the holiday makers had to provide the entertainment to entertain themselves unlike today when we are entertained while on holiday how can you relax on holiday when you had to take part in everything the camp site laid on and do your own entertainment when you go on holiday to relax after a hard year working
