Bought a Sportage EX Premium 2020 AWD white pearl a month ago. Loving it❤️❤️❤️...a great car both on a highway and within a city. Initially was getting used to the size of the vehicle but by now I feel it to the inch! Totally happy😊👌🏼
the handle on the passenger side is there for when the driver makes tight turns they have something to hold on to. the driver doesn't need one because he has the steering wheel to hold on to.
The design with the lowered boot floor: if you still need to fold you rear seats while you have lowered the boot floor and slide your bags onto the seats. It's easier that way, given that there will be a lip to get over.
that irk about the rear turn signals being too low for some suv/truck drivers to see....if you can't see those signals, then you need to stop following too closely!
The reason, and I agree with you, is that if they were placed higher they would merge with the mirror turn signals from the rear. The mirror are the ones the trucks should see I believe.
Totally right about the flashing lights so low. I as Sportage driver have had several people, who drive so close to my rear they could not see the flashing lights and then were furieus at me, when I had to make a turn.
Leased a 2018 sportage ex. Great car, comfortable on long drives and it does have a spare tire. When lease is up thought about leasing a Nissan rogue, but the CVT transmission scares me. I love the sportage interior, how many SUV's at this price point have leather heated AND ventilated seats also rear heated and reclining seats? The only issue for long term ownership is the sportage DGI engine. I am told its prone to carbon buildup. But Kia has a great warranty and I am sure it is addressed....
All vehicles with direct injection have this problem! I had carbon build up in my vw gti at 36000 miles, no big deal, paid $80 dollars in Mexico to have it cleaned, in USA it's about $500 but I think its worth it! 😊
I am going to try the Seltos and Sportage tomorrow. I would love to get the Seltos but a couple things are stopping me. The major one is that it's brand new, there is no reputation for it yet.
Sadly, I haven't had a chance to test the Seltos yet with COVID-19 halting almost all Canadian press fleets. What I can say is that the Sportage is a solid vehicle for tech, comfort and ride quality. What are your must-haves in a car, Kelly?
I am still in search for something, trying other brands as well. Seltos was peppy considering my current car, but I couldn't get any good deal on it. Sportage I liked it for the room but it didn't have blindspot warning. It came with an extra mirror like a truck which was WAY to confusing.
About the extra handle on the passenger door. If you are a awkwardly moving person who hooks seat belt before the door is closed, the handle is nice. On my Chevy my wife grabs at the door latch handle, not good.
I have the older 2015 Sportage LX, and I love it. Also have a 2010 Borrego EX V8, and love it, but it's time to trade in. Short list: Niro SX Touring, Optima EX+ (Premium) hybrid, Rav4 LE hybrid, (another) Sportage EX, or Sorento LX+.
As far as the pedal and acceleration and out-of-control rpms in normal mode, my RAV4 does exactly the same thing. Really annoying, so I always drive in sport mode. RPMs behave and I get a little more zip off the line.
While I agree that the dash trim is good, it's time that Kia gave the Sportage driver a bit more all round visibility. I wish that their next model will have lower window sills...like in the Seltos. Actually even the new Sorento takes the Seltos design. So I'll wait till they finish off with this old claustrophobic design.
Hi Emma, there's definitely a backup camera (mandated by Canadian law since 2017) Not sure what trim you selected but not all Sportage trims come with the sunroof. My tester was the top trim with all the bells & whistles.
Drove one for work the other day with 35km on the clock, lovely compared to my Toyota corolla wagon 2006 😝 btbh found it a bit boring and the front looks like a toy car
Good to see a review that has some negatives, as well as positives, a first! Question, though. A couple of publications, i.e. Consumer Reports, have mentioned that there is a quite serious flaw in that there is a significant blind spot. Can you address this issue? Thanks very much.
@@rodsguerreirodefaria Supposedly there is limited rear view access (without using the camera). But good to know that you like it, thanks for the info.
@@bojanglesetal I'm used to turning my head around to back up it's limited view in sportage,First car I ever had with a back-up camara But getting used to using camera in my new sportage but getting used to it. I love the new sportage I bought in sept
Thanks very much to all who have provided info. Especially re limited view out back window as I too am used to turning my head to look out when reversing. Thank you again!
I looked at this Vehicle today Tuesday. It was a work of Art. Amazing , Awesome. But payment was too high $600 , So I got a 2017 Hyundai , Santafe. It's great. WOW ! Take me a lil bit to get used to. Payment a month $417..
Old fashion car! Much same interior as in my wife elantra ,but elantra 2018 to my wife has more modern automatic shifter. Not this big we see here, like is a truck. See the 2020 Ford Kuga, automatic gear shifter like in BMW, Mercedes

Everyone in the comments hates the front but I think it’s cute!
How come, Tessa?
I like that it’s more rounded off; reminds me of a MINI.
You would like my front.

Say tht again for the folks in the back lol
Exactly!

Been buying Kia cars for years, Sorento and Sportage, great cars.

Just got the ex version 2020. Still getting use to from a honda 2016 crv...a real keeper for me
Are you sorry that you traded the crv for the kia? (I am considering this exact trade right now). Thank you
Get the SX with the turbo and you won’t be disappointed with the acceleration.
If he says SporTAAAAAAGE one more fucking time, I’m gonna lose it.
Stop being boujie. It’s just SportAGE. No fucking “Ahhhhhhhhhh” needed.

Which one did you end up going worh

The rear floor angles up so it is flat to the seats folded down instead of having a ledge. Great for sliding boxes back. Seems pretty obvious

Not fond of placement of the turn signals. The inside is so so. Now the new Seltos is what I want to get it is gorgeous

Is mileage based on “normal” eco or sport ?

Canada or not it’s Sportaj// Sportachg🤨
On the 2020 Kia I didn't see the backup camera I have a 2019 and I have the backup camera that's the only difference but mine didn't come with sunroof

Be nice if no gray color inside they have messed up inside gray should be brown same color as outside

What serious flaw? I have owned one for 4 months now and can't find anything wrong. Loving every minute.

How'd u get the lights to keep flashing
Drã Smith It’s how LED reacts to being video recorded in high res.
Heated side mirrors ?
From what I recall, yes.
@1:02 more function than fashion...??? Looks pretty stylish to me. Toyotas have good, long lasting engines but not much on styles.
I have a 2020 shortage but it’s the s model
Barry Mcdaniel How do you like it, Barry?
Cost? Mileage?
High $25K's to a touch beneath $40K - both CDN.
