I agree that most don't particularly care for the war nickels. But i see it like I see pre-82 pennies. Neither are pure or close to pure but in their own right they are worth something and as they inevitably become harder to obtain their value will naturally increase. If you can buy them at 50% below spot, they are worth stacking. But if you want one because of their significance, this is one coin I suggest buying slabbed in a MS grade.
@ I agree. In general I don’t buy them either. But I don’t mind one-offs like full steps, full bell lines. And I have only one common date graded war nickel. And, if you are patient, you should be able to find one at a reasonable price.
