Love mine…sold my 3rd gen 2i2 to get a Volt476. Sold my Volt for the 4i4 4th. If you can hear the difference and it matters to you, the 4i4 4th is great. Love the auto gain…when my mind is in creative mode and I want to get right to it./
I have a potentially really dumb question. I bought this interface to replace my old scarlett solo, but i am wondering how I plug it into my pc? My old interface is connected via USB, directly to my tower. But the 4i4 only comes with a power supply cable, which the old one did not. What am i missing?
The power supply cable is mainly for tablet/phone use as those devices might not have enough power to supply the interface. On your computer you can connect it via usbc or old usb like the solo (I think that they give you an adapter in the box). I’m using the solo too and I will buy the 4i4 4th gen this month because of the updated converters and the added flexibility
The 4i4 cannot be powered using a USB A port. If You’ve connected to a USB-C port any USB-C port will power the 4i4. My iPad Pro can power the device. My Mac mini can power the device if is connected to a USB-c port first. My iPhone iPhone 15 Pro can power the device if it is connected to a hub first .The hub does not have to be powered if it is a USB-C hub like the Anker five and one. if you connect the 4i4 to a USB Aport, you have to use the included power supply in the second port on the back of the 4i4
