Heartwarming fact: Chris Hemsworth was talking to a young boy who was visiting from Make-a-wish. Here is what Chris said: "We had a young kid, a Make-A-Wish kid, on set that day. In between the takes, I was talking with him and he goes, 'You know, you should say he's a friend from work!'". It is so great that Chris and the director let that improvished line remain in the movie, it was one of the greatest lines.
I think the boy also passed away before the premier, but the producers sent him an advance copy of the film so he watched it from his hospital room weeks earlier.
@@Zaburino That's so wholesome and sad at the same time. 😢
That’s so sweet of Chris and Taika 🥹😭
Your reaction to “oh my god! The hammer pulled you off?” is the best I’ve seen so far. 🤣🤣🤣
I like to think the director's instructions to Jeff Goldblum were "You go stand over there and be Jeff Goldblum"
Actually, that is pretty much what Taiki Waititi told Jeff, quote taken from a Screenrant article about an interview with Jeff, "Waititi asked him not to do "anything theatrical or cartoony." He told Goldblum to "be contemporary" and harness part of his natural "straight behavior," and allowed him to improvise a lot of his dialogue during filming." Lmao
Some actors are hired for their ability to play whatever role you need. Some actors are hired to be themselves. I think Jeff Goldblum is part of the latter group.
@@mikegoodwin2386 Yeah for sure
"Are you Thor: God of Hammers?" can come across as a funny line, but it means so much to Thor, learning his true potential is within himself all along. I loved that so much.
And yet he will soon run to make replacement, i guess he learned nothing 😂
It's a really bad shame that that just gets forgotten.
@@anhkriva5274 ….?????

After watching her procrastinate every second she could on the scary October movies, I find it hilarious to see her eagerly dive into movies again.
And so traumatized from the jump scares that 15:29 scared her lol.
"OMG, the hammer pulled you off?" "Get help", and Loki's reaction to the hulk are my favorite parts in the movie 😂
The voice of the Rock Man, Korg was played by the director of the film, the great Taika Waititi.
Who also did the motion-capture for Surtur.
Rockman 😂😂
Cate Blanchett is clearly having so much fun in this. And Clancy Brown rules.
Love how fun this movie is. It doesn't take itself too seriously while still making it serious enough to have stakes.
Didn't work for me honestly but that's just my viewing experience
@@mickeymouse7726 congrats…?
@@echo_z319 What's with the shitty comment?. People are free to voice that they didn't like the movie just as anyone can voice they do like it. This commenter was perfectly respectible, said it didn't work for THEM and left it at that. I also have issues with this kind of take on comic book characters in movies. Should i never voice that anywhere because people like yourself dislike hearing it?

Along with Gardians of the Galaxy and Ant-man, this is the most fun movie of the MCU.
Just a blast from start to finish.
"Another day, another Doug". "Poor Doug" lmao 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I almost can't believe that this movie is already 5 years old. I definitely had a good laugh at the theater back then.
Fun Fact: Stage Loki was obviously played by Matt Damon who, back in '99, was cast as the character, also, named Loki in the movie Dogma.
"Oh good, it is Galadriel." Fun fact: it's not just Galadriel, she's also talking to Eomer.
Elrond became Red Skull, Thranduil became Ronan The Accuser, and Galadriel became Hela. That means Arwen/Betty Ross will become a super villain.
Catch the rock, paper, scissors jokes with the pamphlets defeating Korg and Korg stepping on Meek? I love New Zealand humor.
(Oh. he's dead. I stomped on him on the bridge. I've been carrying him since then.) Rock breaks scissors.
How is that New Zealand humour. Its just generic humour. Just because someone has an accent😂
@@AlwaysRightAllNighthumor is a social construct layered by regional influences, social tolerances, language, time, etc. Kiwi Comedy, which I'd happily suggest you look into, obviously had a lot of influence on the movies' Kiwi director.
@@theonelegend what I am saying is "kiwi" humour and "aussie" humour is basically just british humour
I liked the fact you recognised Hela as Galadrial (Cate Blanchett) but completely missed Skurge as Eomar (Karl Urban), and for the bonus Doctor Strange as Smaug (Benedict Cumberbach, The Hobbit) and speaking of the Hobbit, Evangeline Lilly (Wasp/Tamriel) and Martin Freeman (Bilbo/Everett Ross) also in Captain America Civil War and your next movie Black Panther with Andy Serkis (Gollum/Cassius Klaw (Age Of Ultron/Black Panther))

"We needed The Hulk to fight the Puppy!"--Addie. Don't ever change. A comment like that is the reason we watch.
I always wished we got to see more of Heimdall. Idris Elba was amazing in that role.
If They make a Assassins Creed Origins movie Idris Elba should play Bayek of Siwa
Fun fact that I only learned years after the movie came out. When Skurge jumps out of the ship with the machine guns and is standing atop the mound of corpses shooting. That scene is an homage. Skurge is played by Karl Urban, who also played the protagonist in the movie Doom. That seen is a remake of the cover of one of the Doom video games.
That scene is also taken straight from the comics which came out in the 1980s, so maybe the Doom cover is a homage to the Thor comic?
If you know who Frank Frazetta is, then you know the original.
@@terrylandess6072 I do know of Frazetta but I'm not as familiar with his work as I should be (I mostly know him from his Deathdealer stuff), although from the little I do know I'm not surprised the original source can be traced back to him.
"He stood alone at Gjallerbru" and that answer is enough.
@@carlgibson285 You can find several paintings which reference the same concept, but one of the Conan covers is the classic - standing on a pile of bodies while they keep coming.
in the theater, I recall the moment that Thor blasts Hela after his final vision of Odin -The theater got very quiet, and then the blasting led Zeppelin as Thor rides the lightning into the fight! suddenly you could actually hear gasps and cheering!
I'm glad you've got a wonderful and slightly humorous change after all the October scary movies!
and as others have said, well done, but buckle up, the upcoming movies are just amazing!
Fun fact, in the comics Jeff Goldblum's character, The Grandmaster, is actually an Elder of the Universe. He's ancient, like primordial, first sentient beings in the universe ancient, is effectively immortal and nigh unkillable, and among other things can literally will lesser beings to die or resurrect at his will. Him giving the rebels the "draw" at the end is an EXTREMELY generous offer.
isnt he also like the brother to the collector, or am i making stuff up?
@@branchie8979 in the MCU he's the Collector's brother. They have not confirmed that the two of them are elders. But everyone assumes they are.
@@CorwinPatrick Brothers as in a fraternity, not blood relations. Each Elder has a fixation that outlasts the civilization that spawned them. If they ever ended their pursuits, they could die.
Grandmaster likes games. Games of chance.
Collector likes collections. Individuals, objects, last sprcimens of society. In the MCU, he is the likely holder of the Bottled City of Kandor (if there is a Marvel analog of Krypton's lost city).
Other known members of the Elders are:
The Astronomer
The Champion
The Contemplator
The Gardener
The Obliterator
The Possessor
The Runner
The Trader
and a later addition, Ego the Living Planet.
"We need the hulk to fight the puppy!" LOL!!! I was rolling on that one.
1. regarding the reenactment show in Asgard, Chris Hemsworth's brother, Luke, actually played Thor there, while Matt Damon played Loki..
2. the rock golem, Korg, was actually played by the director himself, Taika Waititi..
3. when Hela was in Odin's vault, she trash-talked some of the item's there..1st is the Gauntlet saying it was fake..yes, it is fake, because the real one was shown in the
end-credits of Age of Ultron, taken by Thanos..and for the Tesseract, it was theorized that Odin and Hela also searched for the Infinity Stones during their conquest..that's why she knew about the Tesseract and called it "that's not so bad"..
4. that line to Hulk, "he's a friend from work" was actually pitched by a kid to Chris who visited the set of this film..
5. if you're wondering, Thor's code in the quinjet was "Point Break"..because Stark called him that in the 1st Avengers movie..
6. funny that you see Hannibal Lecter thru Odin here, and there's actually a series called Hannibal, and Hannibal was played by Mads Mikkelsen (Kaecillus, Dr. Strange movie villain)
7. you'll see Jane and Darcy in a future mcu entries..
great reaction..next is Black Panther..
11:54 I'm not sure what to call that "yip" because it isn't quite a laugh but it's so damn cute.
Cate Blanchett is always a win! First Lady Galadriel, then Hela the Goddess of Death! Oh and Jeff Goldblum is also always a win!
Red She Hulk Teaser for Arwen/Betty Ross, as Elrond became Red Skull, Thranduil became Ronan The Accuser, and Galadriel became Hela.
Thor 1 is the still my favorite Thor movie and the best one in my opinion
After what the MCU dis to Thor with his last two movies, the first movie is absolutely the best Thor movie.
Was skeptical about the change of focus at first, but the difference in reception between this and Dark World tells the story. Doesn't lose much of the gravitas either, smashing and reassembling Odin's pedestal so Thor can rise to the position he's been preparing for since film 1. Jeff Goldblum is a riot here despite being a villain: 'My celebrated champion, it seems that criminally seductive Lord of Thunder has stolen him away!'
Hands down the best Thor movie. No contest.
That Valkyries flashback
Always makes me feel Sad and awe.
The one time that you see the Valkyrie that Marvel comics fans were hoping for. Blonde Brunnhilde, as described in the Wagner operas and the comics. She led the sisterhood of the Valkyior, and were granted the power to destroy Hela when working in concert.
She was one of the Defenders along with Dr. Strange and the Hulk. She also was one of the Defenders with former original X-Men (Angel, Beast, and Iceman).
The name Scrapper 142 was an Easter Egg for comic fans from the first appearance of Valkyrie.
I've remember way back in 2012
I saw a Blonde Valkyrie in a Facebook game.
She has a spear and helm.(of course pegasus too)
That's why I'm kinda familiar with the character.
When I saw Rescue in the endgame
I recognize her because of that game.
I hope they make a movie for the Inhumans too.
"No, youre stronger" is one of my favorite lines in the mcu
Really? It's a pretty cliche line.
@@Eidlones its a pretty cliche scene in general and I still like it
@@coolguy473 I'm not trying to harp on you for enjoying it, if it comes across that way. Just seems a weird line to think is the best line in 29 movies.
@@Eidlones i didnt say it was the best, its one of my favorites. One of like a dozen I could throw out.
I much prefer the more serious Thor movies but I'm happy to see you enjoy these movies
After the last two Thor movies I'd say the first is the best. It's actually Thor learning whatbit is to he worthy so he could he more than he was compared to the almost buffoonish manchild he is despite all the struggle and loss he's experienced.
The comedy, dialogue, physical comedy, drama works really works in this film. I like the contrast in protagonist. I also like how Dr Strange is in this film but not too long but in the film that makes sense.
i like how the dragon head coming through with Thor is subtle foreshadowing for Hela coming to Asgard
One of my very favorite things about this film is Anthony Hopkins playing Loki pretending to be Odin. That had to be so much fun to play.
"...I love all of Thor's friends. I'm excited to see what comes next in their journey." What an ironic way to start this reaction. 😂
3:42 Fun Fact: The Thor in the play is played by Chris Hemsworth's brother, Luke, Loki is played by Matt Damon and Odin is played by Sam Neill.
32:14 "Are we not gonna see what that is???"
Yes, we will. It is finally here. Or should I say, he is....
Fun reaction, as always, Addie. Thor: Ragnarok is my favorite Thor movie because it's very funny. I got a very good laugh attack from the Hulk smashing Thor, the same way he did with Loki in The Avengers (2012). This movie does offer you a lot of comfort after having seen Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs (1991). In other words, I'm so glad that you're now back to watching fun movies because I'm now seeing a happy Addie and not a scared Addie.
Came out 6 minutes ago so no way you already watched the reaction. Fraud!
@@WheresWaldo05 Commented as they were watching.
I actually made the comment as I watched.
'Shady Acres' retirement home. That's a Golden Girls reference.
Shady Pines, actually
Addie, there is an animated movie called Planet Hulk that shows what happened to him in between the Age of Ultron movie and this one
That's not canon
It's more based in the comic book canon not the MCU movies
I like the planet hulk animated movie more than Thor Ragnarok it's more accurate to the comics it's adapting
I saw that movie, and it "feels" canon to the MCU despite not being.
Awesome reaction Addie! Yes, Ragnarok is the best of the Thor films. I am glad you enjoyed it as much as we did, also that you got a break from some of those creepy movies you have been watching!
"We need the Hulk to fight the puppy!"
You recognized Galadriel but you failed to clock Éomer. It is understandable, Karl Urban is surprisingly chamaleonic.
Red She Hulk Teaser for Betty Ross/Arwen, as Elrond became Red Skull, Thranduil became Ronan The Accuser, and Galadriel became Hela.
In Norse mythology, the Fenris wolf is actually Loki's son.
...
...
His other kids are the world serpent, and the goddess of death Hela. XD
and Odin's horse in the first movie.
Oh boy, the MCU masterpiece that is Infinity War is approaching ever closer!
I agree that movie has my favorite portrayal of Thor in the mcu
Infinity War + Endgame combined are, I think, the greatest piece of cinema in our generation. Just because of all the work that went into building up to them.
@@TheNeilBlack you guys are so easily impressed lol
@@brunokingz Telling a story across two dozen films released over a decade is an impressive feat.

0:34 "I love all of Thor's friends" Yeah, about that...
My favourite solo(ish) movie in the MCU from one of my favourite reactors on RUclips.
Once again, a great way to start the weekend. 👍❤
Black Panther takes place 1 week after Civil War in 2016. Ragnarok takes place a full year later in 2017. Ant-Man and the Wasp takes place weeks before and concurantly with Infinity war in 2018. Infinity war takes place in 2018.
Great reactions to Thor: Ragnarok, Addie!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽I didn't enjoy this the first time I watched it. I went in blind and was unaware of the comedy in the film. But, I do like it after repeated viewings.🙂
"His name is Mister Doctor." 😄😆😄 YES!
I think the comedy works because most of the comedy comes from physical comedy based upon circumstances rather than dialogue driving most of the comedy. The dialogue is responses to the circumstances. Whereas the comedy in Thor Love and Thunder often driven by the dialogue and not driven by the circumstances.
If there is one thing about Cate Blanchett, it is no matter the role she takes on she will knock it out of the park. Great actress and made a believably sinister Hela.
you know what wouldve been a great What if? episode???? What if Hela grabbed the tesseract aka the space stone instead of surturs crown!!! she would then rule the cosmos
Hey Addie !! Another great reaction !! Matt Damon played Loki and Sam Neil played Odin in the play "Ode to Loki" Also, the scene where Thor is passing through what looks like a tunnel to meet the Grand Master is an homage to a similar tunnel scene from "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"(1971). They even play the same song..
Luke Hemsworth played Thor in the same play. That is Chris Hemsworth's older brother.
Love your vids glad to be a new subscriber I’ll be watching.
I love the extended scene with the Grand Masters cousin death scene for Gamboling
One thing I like about the Thor series of movies is actually how remarkably true North mythology they keep the storyline. I Asgard has fallen in, but Valhalla is forever. Just keep this in mind as we move forward with the movies.
Was that a double pew pew at the beginning of the video? Amazing.
Hello, Addis. I am glad that you enjoyed this! Best wishes to you!
This is the correct order but watching this one right before Infinity War would have worked just as well...
Would it the tones of both movies are so drastically different it would be jarring for a casual viewer
15:10 16:26 I'm so glad we got to see Heimdall be such a badass in this. I wonder if that will be the only time we see it, or if we'll get to see badass Heimdall again (i.e. in a What If...? episode, or Thor 5).
amazing as always. one question/comment are you planning on watching the marvel tv series as well? if not you might be missing some context for the phase 4 movies.
Great movie. This is my favorite of the Thor movies.
Also have you noticed a Lot! Of Actors and Actresses that have been in marvel were also in either Lotr or the Hobbit!
Elrond became Red Skull, Thranduil became Ronan The Accuser, and Galadriel became Hela. That means Arwen/Betty Ross will become a super villain.
10:07 Korg is played by the director, Taika Waititi.
There's an interesting theory that Hela's still alive. That the green flash before Surtr's sword hit her was acc her teleporting out of there 30:49. Idk if that's true, but it would definitely be cool to see Hela again in the MCU.
I think that's her "soul" We see Odin was Gold, and Frigga was Blue so maybe Hela was green. Idk
Thor and Loki should have tried ''Get help'' against the dark elves in the second movie.
It's so odd seeing Addie enjoy a movie. Lately she's been mostly terrified...
Yes addie my favorite thor movie
You literally can’t kill Hela. She can kill you just by touching you and can bring herself back to life when she wants. She doesn’t actually get her power from Asgard, they just did that for the movies
Well, if she's somehow in Thor 5, I'mma be surprised, but it doesn't look like she survived Asgard's destruction.
If she does not have her headgear in place, she can be killed. Also, the battle between her and the assembled Valkyior could have killex Hela if Brunnhilde had not sacrificed herself for Scrapper 142.
Hela had put a curse once on Thor that he would never die, but he would never heal as well. He eventually made his armor in Pittsburgh to hold his body in shape as he continued taking damage in battle. He eventually forced her hand by putting his spirit into the Destroyer armor and feigned warrior's madness as he rampaged through her kingdom destroying the subjects and structures that empowered her. She could not destroy the armor and she could not kill Thor by her own curse. She got him to stop by offering to lift her curse if he left her realm. He agreed and taunted her by vacating the empty shell of the Destroyer armor standing in front of her throne. (It could only be animated by the rulers of Asgard, not those of other lands.)
The movies are a different universe, with different rules from the comics, and different relationships between characters and timeline stuff. I don't remember what the timeline number for the MCU is, but the "main" comic universe is Earth-616, and there are alternate comic universes that diverge much farther than the cinematic universe does. In the MCU, Hela canonically gets her power from Asgard.
This might be my favorite MCU movie.
Btw, point break is referring to Patrick swayze in the movie point break. Looked like u didn’t understand that reference.
Also, when Korg said "he didn't print enough pamphlets"... its a joke, hes made of rocks and got beat by paper lol

The movie turns 5 today!
Still the best Thor film and one of the best, most fun entries in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
Taika Waititi who’s known for indie comedies brings so much more of a colorful, goofy side to the character than we’ve seen and he’s one of the few Kiwi directors to step into the limelight
Thor is actually given a personality rather than coming off so heartbroken and burdened by destiny and it’s very funny throughout, he knows when to be silly, charming, subtle and serious
His chemistry with Tom Hiddleston proves both of them have plenty to squeeze out; Thor and Loki butt heads constantly but still end up accomplishing much more
Can Loki actually be trusted for once even when Thor tries to change him?
Blanchett has some of the best wardrobe and villain designs of any of these MCU movies and it helps her acting backs all of it
There’s also timely themes in here about history being whitewashed, rewriting it to suit our own needs, covering up our pasts to paint a better picture and forget our past transgressions, it’s true kings and conquerors are proud to have their accomplishments but ashamed of how they got them, a country or kingdom isn’t a place it’s a people that make it
Waititi essentially makes an immigration story and several parallels to Aborigines and also inserting subtle Australian branding throughout
And the aesthetic of the movie embraces the traditional Jack Kirby artwork from many of the comics giving it a retro 1980’s feel like a pop video
Rather some cool-looking action too that matches many comic frames especially the ending and when in slow-motion looks like beautiful illustrations
Let’s also not forget the many inside references to past MCU films and callbacks
True this is light on story or might worry viewers that there’s so much stuff crammed in and half the jokes end up being a 50/50 ratio but they balance it out figuratively being a psychedelic experience
Thor is finally given some proper treatment this time around without relying on too much melodrama and this is one of the best films of 2017
And the best part….this leads directly into one of the best MCU films period!
Great reaction! How dare you tho, snakes are amazing 😊
This was an awesome film! Very fun.
some media have The Grand Master as the brother of The Collector.
32:30
The revolutionaries should take that deal. It's a good deal. The Grandmaster loves to be amused, games of chance and skill of all types. It's what he lives for, and the people actually staged a successful coup and won. He had fun for a little bit in an unexpected revolution.
Here's the catch:
The Grandmaster is millions of years old, possibly billions. The Collector is his brother. He's an Elder of the Universe, and while Thor and Loki claim to be Gods, Grandmaster is a million times more powerful than the most powerful Asgardian.
Grandmaster could wave a hand, and kill everyone on the planet, rebuild everything on the planet with another wave, then bring everyone back to life with no memory of the revolution.
He just doesn't, because where would be the fun in that?
He likes to see things play out.
0:34 I wish Lady Sif & the Warriors Three could've had a larger part in the MCU tbh. They had so much interesting potential, but they were always pushed into the background, & were killed off so quickly in this film 6:57 8:48 (except Lady Sif).
Excellent movie 🎬 ❤️
I *really* wish we had spent more time on Asgard in the MCU before it got destroyed tbh - I hope that we might get to see more of Asgard in future MCU properties tho.
I *loved* seeing their advanced technology, combined with their Greco Roman/ Medieval architecture & appearance, & their use of melee weapons - Asgard should have been even more impressive than Wakanda.
We saw some cool/ fascinating technology on Asgard, i.e.:
- the city defense turrets - the palace & prison cell force fields
- the hovercraft warships - the Destroyer armour, etc, but I would've loved even more tbh.
It would've also hv been cool to see more of the animals/ creatures that exist on Asgard tbh (like we saw w/ Valkyrie's Winged Horse, Fenris, Odin's Ravens, etc).
Wacky fact: This video is showing that it was uploaded on November 3... which is coincidentally the same date Thor Ragnarok came out in theaters exactly 5 years ago... yes! 2017 was 5 years ago 🗿
