It is absolutely amazing what some people will do rather than fix the issue correctly. It has to be lack of knowledge & not having the ability to do it right 🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️
I enjoyed that Matt & well done 👏👏

Why why did they do that crazy but not shocking great video content of diagnosing someone messing it up for you I get it alot on ambulances at work with bodybuilders hacking into fiat side for 12v feeds and no diagrams from body builders what they done

How strange made no sense why someone had done that, nice to see how you went about it 👍

Had similar issue on my transit. Originally the fuse holders on several fuses were so loose that connections would make and break contact making it hard to diagnose. Have since put a fuel pump on some 2 years later 😂

Same here. Question for my understanding: Did you replace the pump by mistake because of misdirected troubleshooting or because was it broken as a result of issues on the fuse holder in the end?

Hi great vid cpuod they have done that for a intermitant problem with the original fuse as mine keeps cutting out intermitantly and not getting fuel through cheers

Great video! I’m struggling with my 2.4 mk6, I discovered someone have removed the fuse and relay sockets. So no where to plug in new ones. Obviously the van is not starting and I can’t hear the pump. Any ideas gents?

What about sourcing one off a wrecker (replacement sockets), and wiring it back in?

Having a total nightmare with a mk8 and fuel pump playing up. scanned with Forscan p0230 short to ground or open. tested fuel pump directly and works. power going to pump module. whacked fuse box and pump relay started screaming then pump energised. no power going to relay when pump is not working. all fuses and relays are tested and seem ok but double checked with other. all happened after recent bad wet weather. any ideas. great video btw watched it over and over to get clues.

I'm having similar intermittent faults cuts out randomally ,scanner shows low fuel pressure ,no power to in tank pump via relay ,I've seen a video showing problems with fuseboard & moving (repin) fuel pump fuse

@@torstenkenning read the comments on his video seems to be a common fault I've put a bypass from another fuse using a piggyback to the pump relay ,tightened all fuse holders & changed pump relay not happened since 🤞

i had this and i found that it was one side of the fuse carrier for the pump that wasn't making a very good connection to the fuse blade, bent the blade, put a peice of wire over the blade and all seems good now for 1 year.

So the pump would run all the time with the key on the way they had it And the original relay was fine. how odd. 🤔👍

I first thought that they have some sort of immobiliser fitted, then I change my mind after seeing how it had been wired.
That extra wiring must have been done before the owner had the car, it's a strange one.
