I'm not gonna lie...I talked smack on one of your videos in regards to knee pain and doing this workout along with tying a band to a squat rack and putting a safe amount tension on the knees. Been doing these for 2 weeks and I can feel the blood rushing to areas in my quad, glutes, and knee. I had 2 major, open knee surgeries and haven't been able to kick box on 5 years. That's all gonna change thanks to your videos. I apologize for the skepticism and disrespect. Thank you for the advice.
I can already feel the DOMS after I've tried this! Edit: this feels amazing on the hip flexor when you pause at the bottom for a quick sec. I had DOMS on my upper quads, close to the hip for the first time ever.
Excellent - was looking for an excuse to swap my reverse lunges for Bulgarians. Was hesitant because I primarily use the lunge for the ROM I can achieve. I'm hearing so long as my shin angle doesn't drift backwards in the bottom, I can elevate my front foot till I'm trashed 👍
Do bulgarian split squats work the same muscles as the regular barbell squat? I can't do normal barbell squats so I'm looking for a replacement for them
It’s a good replacement in my opinion. In some ways it’s better because it’s a unilateral movement which helps balance out the body. I do feel it works my glutes more than a standard squat.
@@mimoosa7390 you know some people have certian limitations that dont allow them to squat, deadlift or bench SBD may be very good but they arent 100% necessary to grow
Hi, when I do it on my left side, my left back thigh muscle suddenly become weak. Is it due to my weak muscle or something else? I sit a lot for my work...
As if bulgarian split squats weren't tormenting enough.
Haha, exactly! But a lot of us will try it anyway.
Right, I already gassed out after two reps
My whole glutes and legs were numb
I'm obsessed with them...deep....very deep.
I love these elevated split squats. My left foot is jacked, so I've always had a hard time using it as a support foot on the ground.
So much knowledge on this channel.. Absolutely love it

Don't apologize for skepticism; maybe for close mindedness at most 👌🏼 skepticism is alright
Squat U is as legit as they come
I love Bulgarian split squats. Super hard for me and I embrace that challenge
Yes. No better feeling than finishing these

Never heard “Squat deeper” in so many words
Doing these for a while now, love them, the range is awesome and the stimulus unreal
Ben Patrick would appreciate the encouraging load under full the of motion
Thanks for the info 👍
I’m trying this today!

Instead of adding weight I think I’ll try this
Seems brutal.
In others words get that front foot off the best floor 😂❤️
Damn, actually a good trick

@@Andrew-yr6ig thanks for your reply! I also feel it more in my glutes but a huge cake won't hurt anybody hehe
Can you recommend an exercise to replace back squat and deadlift?
Front squat and stiff leg deadlift always felt better for me being more comfortable
If not SLDL, you could try RDL
@@akul_cicajlkrb but romanian deadlift will work more your glutes, put thatt in mind champ!
Never replace regular squat, bench, deadlift :D just add variations to them as well: 2 squats, 2 deadlifts, 2-3 bench presses a week
@@guibovichchu1676 Romian deadlifts work more the hamstrings than the glutes if you do them correctly

Is there any difference between Bulgarian Split Squats and Weighted Pistol Squats except the balance factor?
Yes limb length. People with long femurs have difficulty getting down into pistol squat. The split squat doesn't have these same issues
Why is it? I kinda see it with my pistol squat…
Are they also good for lower back and core?
Yes they are good for everything but especially posterior chain 💪💪💪
Hört sich ähnlich zum Doggcrapp Training an.
This video has ruined my life. Now i have to try it. 😂 ☠️
A lot of gibberish to say that you can go deeper because your back knee doesn’t hit the ground
I tried this and it was pure agony.
My balance could never
Try it in the smith machine, hardly any balance required.
Thats the whole point of this exercise. To train your balance
@@volcolmshoot yes I've become better 🙏 thank you
I feel it more on my hamstrings 😅 Is it ok?
Wouldn’t this be the same thing as putting the back leg on a higher box?

By left back thigh muscle do you mean your hamstring?

what about pistol squat vs Bulgarian squat? should be even better

How many kilos are those plates?
Bro bss are hard enough

Wouldn’t this cause butt wink deep socket hip people
My gym does not have a pad that is leveled to where I need my back foot to be. Any advice?
Bench?
I use the bench of the cable row machine because it's usually shorter than a regular gym bench
find the weakest looking dude in the gym and have him kneel on all fours to your required height. you're welcome
