Hi Rodz, I stop using varnish. Reason my country is too humid it is not suitable to use varnish, it may peels or stick onto the table making it unable to pick up the candle. Plus my customer prefer without varnish, we all feel it look more like candle without varnish. Most importantly the vapour from varnish is harmful for lung. I did suggest to make one without and ask if your customers prefer with our without varnish. I think USA and Europe sell varnish. Hope this is of help
I gently knock onto the side of the mold and it easily come out. If this don’t work for you. You may want to get a silicone spray to lightly spray inside the mold. Do not over spray. Or lightly coat the inside with vegetable oil. This will help you to release your candle.
@naomiartisan thanks for the advice I was finally able to dip and carve! Can I also ask what brand of pigment you use to color your wax? I've tried candle dye, and Mico powder pigment but the white still doesn't come out strong
There are many varieties of paraffin wax, soy wax, coconut wax. They all have different feature, not all paraffin wax is suitable for carved candle. Work with your supplier tell them what candle you making and brief them you need to be able to cut and twist and curl the wax and ask if them if they have such flexible paraffin wax. Soy wax is not flexible that is why it is not used in carved candle.
