Modell gutted Cleveland when he moved the Browns to Baltimore. Al Lerner brought them back but couldn’t get them going. After he died, his son Randy didn’t care, so he sold the team to Jimmy Haslam. And Haslam has been treating the Browns the way John Henry treats the Red Sox: they get something halfway decent, make some money, then sell it all off, take the profit and start fresh. The result? Still no Super Bowls, two playoff appearances in 13 years of ownership, and constant turnover of QBs, head coaches and general managers. The Deshaun Watson signing was a disaster and I wish they’d kept Joe Flacco if they had to get rid of Baker Mayfield (who never should’ve left).
There's nothing wrong with their current stadium it was built in 1999 and was renovated in 2014. We have enough dome NFL stadiums already. It's perfect right next to lake Erie where it gets so windy that it is difficult to kick field goals and have snow games. Football is an outdoor sport and also Cleveland is an underrated city with a declining population. Why would they want to host super bowls and final 4's there?
The current stadium was built quickly and on an incredibly tight budget… the stadium built in 1999 used existing infrastructure from the last stadium… even if the stadium got no upgrades for fans it still NEEDS hundreds of millions of dollars in upgrades… to bring it up to modern standards for an NFL stadium the stadium needs a significant renovation… the issue is that the city is still paying for the original build and the 2014 renovation, which was hardly a renovation. So, the option is, let the browns build what they want in a way that will create streams of revenue to pay for itself, or make the city continue to pay for its stadium on credit from the city’s general fund. The reason there are more and more modern domed stadiums is bc it is what’s expected to host high end events and they create more revenue… it is necessary that they build a new stadium but even if it weren’t it’s an inevitability… but as a fan, I’m glad the Brookpark location will be easier to get to for the vast majority of people attending games, there will be insight parking, it’ll be nicer, cleaner, safer, and will be a much better experience…
With the Browns and Bears both building domes, it would then make sense for the Packers to move to the AFC North and Browns to the NFC North. Then you'll have a North outdoor division and a North indoor division.

Theres gotta be a lot that goes into potentially building up the Burke Lakefront property. Demolishing the airport and runways, dealing with the old Nike missile silos under the runway, the landfill and the bunker? It would definitely take a decade and be very expensive to make those renderings come to life
I like the idea of keeping them downtown on the lake via Burke and then tearing down the old stadium for lakefront access to the public. That would be a strong move for Cleveland. Not sure the leadership there will be strong enough to negotiate that deal though.
This rendering does look nice if they’re able to make it work. I also like the Brookpark rendering as well. The all glass roof will add tons of natural light. I’m all for a dome just cause the lake winds, the cold and the miserable weather makes it hard to enjoy the game. Would be nice if it had a retractable roof for times when there’s nice weather.
I've said many times, IF we are spending 2 billion dollars for a stadium, then this one is MUCH better of an option. It takes up the location of the airport nobody uses, you get the parking space, it brings business back to Cleveland, AND it's on the lakeside for us to have the best looking view for events in the entire country. Literally everyone wins with this concept. Cleveland is a cold weather location that will occasionally have inclement weather, and consequently it can be difficult to host events other than football games in the future during every season. It's so ridiculous that Jim Haslim wants to build a new indoor stadium when there's nothing wrong with the current stadium. And indoor stadium takes away the tradition of cold winter games, especially if it's snows. Indoor stadiums belong in the hot states, not cold ones
Big Cleveland Browns Snow Game Dec 19 , 2007 - Browns Win 8-0 vs Buffalo Bills - Phil Dawson made 2 field goals -35 & 49 yds in heavy snow with wind gusts of up to 40 mph. The highest point that the 49 yd field goal reached was when it crossed the bar. It was a line drive kick that no one thought would make it.
When this rendering came out. I absolutely hated it not because of them wanting to stay in downtown because I think they should stay in downtown but because it’s once again a DONE! We don’t want a dome for NFL teams. The NFL is made to be played in the elements. They should be renovating the existing stadium.
Why does the city of Cleveland *always* blow off these issues until someone finally puts another plan in place? Then they scramble to throw together their own alternative with few details and no ideas for funding. A day late and a dollar short is the understated mantra of just about everything the city government there touches. Plus, Burke is built on a landfill.....not a huge problem for an airport, but a VERY big problem for a heavy, high occupancy indoor (or outdoor) stadium. Look at City View in Garfield Heights. They have problems with the ground settling and methane emissions that require constant monitoring and specialized ventilation systems. It's a retail wasteland.....literally.
Factory of Sadness, but now with a dome. I guess sitting in a comfortable environment watching the Browns lose is better than sitting in the rain, cold, snow and watching them lose.
I like the park Forrest idea but it should be more high density housing. Set an example for other cities if they put money in they can clear up housing needs
How is it very rare for the Browns to get a snow game lol? They are on the Eastern side of lake effect. Literally them and the Bills are the most likely to get snow.
that would be stupid not to add a dome on the stadium wasnt that the point of even building a new stadium to block the snow and rain would be so much better for sales
New dome renderings, old dome renderings, reformed dome renderings... it's all gibberish. The franchise is not moving to any suburb, nor will they be building a roof on their existing stadium. If ownership had its investment in a better situation, the entire proposal may be more warmly received by the fan base, but we all know it's not. Unless and until a change in the worst ownership in all of professional sports is made, the Browns will be stuck in mediocrity, at best.
The only way they stay in Cleveland is if the FAA allows Burk Lake to close and then build the dome only problem that takes over 10 years after approval
Has anyone purposed building in the area west of the new Shewin & Williams tower? It will necesitate removing most if not all of the historic Rockefeller Building.
That's a pretty rare occurrence. Last year the coldest game was 39 degrees. This year every game has been sunny and pleasant so far except for the awesome snow game Thursday night. And there are only like 3 home games left.
I love domes for baseball outside of the west coast teams baseball is truly meant to be played inside but football i hate it snow games are so much fun to watch
8-0 over Buffalo, but that was over a decade I think. Yeah, no snows like in the '70s, even then it wasn’t quite as much as some. I chose the Packers when the first Browns moved partly because of the snow games, and they had more than Cleveland.
Just as the cookie cutter stadium fad came and went, so will the dome obsession. Football is an outdoor game played in the elements. Dome teams bore me and many others to death, and by 2050, I predict the domes will all start coming down for open air football. And hosting a Super Bowl is overrated. Detroit hosted one in 2006 and declared bankruptcy 7 years later.
Seattle made the right move by moving out of the KingDome and into Lumen Field. I wish more current domed teams could do this but we all know that ain’t happening.
Haslam think he's going to have more events in a new stadium in BrookPark.... Look at the IX center.... 1million square feet of space and still they have problems with selling and hosting events.... Haslam has a history of bad decision making.
May have been a bit before your time but the Buffalo game in 07 when the Browns beat the Bills 8-0 on a safety and two Dawson FGs drilled right up the middle in strong wind and snow. These click-bait headlines make it sound like the Browns are leaving Cleveland and moving out of state. They might be moving to a SUBURB of Cleveland, and that's it! The Browns should have had a domed stadium MANY years ago!
The Art Modell law makes it illegal for them to move out of the city plus the NFL made an agreement back in 1999 with the city of Cleveland that the team would not be ever allowed to move out of the city boundaries that means even going to the city next door.
@@TheSSUltimateGoku The Art Modell law really has no "teeth". It only requires Ohio owners whose teams play in taxpayer-funded stadiums to get permission from their home city or give six-month notice with a chance for the city or an investor “in the area” to offer to buy the team. After those 6 months have passed with no "local" buyer, the current owner of the team, the Haslams, can do whatever they want. It would be much better to let the Haslams move the team to a Cleveland suburb than to move the team completely out of Ohio, wouldn't it?

2. You should do some random rant videos
3. X/acc is the new coin of this channel. It’s happening
The snow games may be rare, but that's why we should protect them (so to speak) because we want to see them when they happen. No dome!!
When this rendering came out. I absolutely hated it not because of them wanting to stay in downtown because I think they should stay in downtown but because it’s once again a DONE! We don’t want a dome for NFL teams. The NFL is made to be played in the elements. They should be renovating the existing stadium.
I’d like to see the Browns build a stadium with an overhang covering the seats but not the field. Kind of like what the Dolphins have.
Where do people park with all those buildings surrounding the stadium?
I was at the saints game in 2022 on Christmas eve...it was -27 degrees and it was a very cold game to go too...
I am loving your channel as I love football and I am very into politics
Factory of Sadness, but now with a dome. I guess sitting in a comfortable environment watching the Browns lose is better than sitting in the rain, cold, snow and watching them lose.
I like the park Forrest idea but it should be more high density housing. Set an example for other cities if they put money in they can clear up housing needs
Feel bad for downtown Cleveland. Those business's are going to take a huge hit.
They have talked about developing the lakefront like this for fifty years. Scores of renderings, lots of talk. Nothing produced.
Midwestern stadiums should be build like European football stadium, a semi roof that covers all the seats but leaves the field exposed
How is it very rare for the Browns to get a snow game lol? They are on the Eastern side of lake effect. Literally them and the Bills are the most likely to get snow.
Was just at that Browns Steelers game. That stadium is completely fine. No reason to change it
that would be stupid not to add a dome on the stadium wasnt that the point of even building a new stadium to block the snow and rain would be so much better for sales
render at 7:46 looks like a giant toilet bowl.
2007 vs Buffalo Bills. The Phil Dawson game!! 8-0 victory in a blizzard!
I remember a Chargers Browns game in 2004 having heavy snow.
Browns no matter what they do need to avoid playing in the suburbs. Stay in the city and don't have another Richfield Coliseum repeat.
Brook Park looks better. That said bed tax and sales taxes are going to suck.
A Cleveland dome is not going to happen. Burke has too many requirements before it can be closed.
I still want an open stadium but I like this much more than moving to Brook Park.
Has anyone purposed building in the area west of the new Shewin & Williams tower? It will necesitate removing most if not all of the historic Rockefeller Building.
The Browns want a Super Bowl in Cleveland.
AFC North Domes sounds like such a bad idea
Mother Nature and Jack Frost had a all access pass to the Cleveland Browns game
Sitting out in weather thats 10 degrees or colder is not fun
That's a pretty rare occurrence. Last year the coldest game was 39 degrees. This year every game has been sunny and pleasant so far except for the awesome snow game Thursday night. And there are only like 3 home games left.
A park that large In Cleveland would be crime and homeless ridden in 5 years
I'm all for moving the Browns to Brookpark. Cleveland is a violent smelly dump.
Maybe let CSU start a team and have summer concerts there. Christmas tree events, ice skating, etc
I love domes for baseball outside of the west coast teams baseball is truly meant to be played inside but football i hate it snow games are so much fun to watch
Like the brook park design much better the cleveland dome design is fugley.
8-0 over Buffalo, but that was over a decade I think. Yeah, no snows like in the '70s, even then it wasn’t quite as much as some. I chose the Packers when the first Browns moved partly because of the snow games, and they had more than Cleveland.
Ugly corporate domes, football belongs outside.. "Welcome to McDonalds Park sponsored by Bank of America!".. we used to be a proper country
No dome.
Until the browns get a covered stadium there will be no super bowls played in Cleveland
Hope you're right
Seattle made the right move by moving out of the KingDome and into Lumen Field. I wish more current domed teams could do this but we all know that ain’t happening.
Give it up people they already bought they own the land. Why would they go rent somewhere when they can own and make more money
Dome stadium Best for Cleveland.
Yo Ging. Are you from Cleveland?
I know he's in Ohio. Just not sure where.
Thank God another stadium video rather than an Orange Man video.
We need an open stadium
This Downtown Dome Stadium Is UGLY, Browns Forever 🔥🐶💥🏈✌️
We don’t want a dome
Cleveland should host Super Bowl LXVI in 2032
Good grief can these teams just get thier stadium deals done for once? I thought it was set in stone it would be built in Brook Park.
Did he really say 6-7 years for Buffalo it’s only been 2-3 years they cancelled the games in buffalo WTH
Well it's not like the Browns are moving to Baltimore again!
Haslam think he's going to have more events in a new stadium in BrookPark.... Look at the IX center.... 1million square feet of space and still they have problems with selling and hosting events.... Haslam has a history of bad decision making.
That looked like the lid to a toilet bowl. Ummmmmm no thank you on that look.
no local authorities want the team
May have been a bit before your time but the Buffalo game in 07 when the Browns beat the Bills 8-0 on a safety and two Dawson FGs drilled right up the middle in strong wind and snow. One of the all great new era wins. As a lifelong Browns fans I don't want a dome. ruclips.net/video/U6m0AWV-GKM/видео.html
NO DOME - NO DOME - NO DOME
Yay For Cleveland!
I agree ginger this design is boring
Dome football sucks! In fact! Football sucks now, period! Let them buy their own stadium!
I would leave the county and go somewhere better and cheaper. Downtown isn’t exactly so nice. It has a couple of decent spots but pretty lame. Maybe Medina County
How about getting a decent team to put in that new Dome.
You are literally making things up. The Mayor of Cleveland committed $450 million to a new stadium or renovation. Dont you live in Cleveland?
nobody wants to go to downtown cleveland
I see a Bank Logo on top of it.
They're going to play in a rice cooker?
It looks like a toilet seat on a toilet bowl.
Move them to San Diego!
