  • Not the content that I was hoping to make, but the whole purpose of this channel is to show a professional triathlete's life - the good, the bad, and the ugly. So with that said, here's my race recap from T100 Singapore.

Keep your head up. Bad days happen. Put the training and recovery in and you'll move onward and upward.

You probably dont realize the service youre doing us all in showing there are good days and bad- very bad - days even for the elite athletes! Thank you for showing up even in vulnerability. We all learn from you and im sure you’ll come stronger after that 🤛🏻 you learn and go back in the arena !

Good days and bad days. Its how we handle the bad ones and what we learn that benefits us in the long run. Knowing that legit world class athletes like Daniel have bad days and then have the courage to be honest about it all is important for us mere mortals. Its one of the reasons I really like Daniel. So if this is read, take some time chief, head up, learn, know you have a lot of people wanting to see you do well, and move on to smash the next thing.

Just a bad day Daniel, nothing you can't handle. Recover well and smash the next race.

We have a real pro who always faces up to failure and stand up in front of us after a fail. If this is not a great life lesson, I don't know what else it could be. Thanks for your honesty Daniel. You are great and your moment will come soon.

Thanks for sharing even these days! It's interesting - and pure speculation too - but it seems, that you would like to have a kind of rest from racing - with a consistency time of pure work - which shows (speculation) that you could really need some more time for yourself. Yes, it could be just a lack of energy in Singapore. Or there is some mental aspect, that made you less free. As you said, on one hand it's all about the right questions. On the over hand, it's all about letting these questions go again, after a while - and come back in another race. All the best!

My third sense,,,you can shave, and look like you did when you were winning:) I like the look:) however you must return back to the person you were,,,most likely not cussing,,eating better, sleeping better, but all in all, just be much more good of a person then you are now, and I promise, you will never call yourself the names you did today:) there is a good person and a bad person in every one of us, good person never cusses, so I am willing to bet,,,the bad person is controlling you, and your thoughts,,,

Very sorry it wasn't the outcome you'd worked for...but we are all glad you didn't die, DB! Hope the foot and back are back in business soon. Also hope you make worlds 70.3 and by some miracle I can get in/there too! 🙏🙏~megan Ps. now you know a little bit of what it feels like to be an ol lady. 😅

I am going to say something that might be just pure speculation, and please, I say it with love: I think you travel too much. I know it is fun and it must be so exciting to see the world through the sport you love, but I think the stability of being home, having the routine, the consistency, a calmed mind, I don't know, I think it would help. You will get to where you want to be.

You can’t underestimate how the heat can ruin you if you’re not acclimatized to it and you push too hard. Once your body heat crosses the line your body shuts down. Sorry to hear you went through this. Living in Northern Europe means you can’t turn up at these hot races and just turn it on. Jonny Brownlee would do heat training in a heat room in his house. You might consider doing this pre hot races.
I’m just a passionate age grouper but I would not suggest unpacking everything and loosing confidence.
Anyway, onwards and upwards…best wishes from Switzerland.

You have so many races to come. Obviously it is hard to DNF but you have to think about your season, and career. Sensible decision not to risk injury. Good luck with the rest of the season. Glad you spend so much time in Australia. We are lucky here and it is great to share our home Country.

Hey Daniel, reading the comments, watching you prepare and race that your heart and soul have abandoned you and now left you wondering what on earth is going on. Well, when fans like myself follow you and spend 20 minutes watching your video I think we are seriously wishing you the best. So here we go. Watch Danny Ryf train and prepare, there are no podcast interviews and wasting time and energy it is all about winning, and if you don't see that maybe you should take a few moments to see them. Your competition loves that you are the joke man of the tour and so is Leon and look at where that got you. SHAKE THAT IMAGE OFF and start to be serious. All this coming from a good place not judging just wishing you would win.

Sam Long is a master of cringe videos and the greatest showman in the race. Daniel, maybe start doing cringe videos?
But seriously, you'll get there. You have knowledge and skills. Looking forward to your recap video after a W.
