The 14000 tickets for this concert sold out in a record-breaking 14 minutes! Morrissey always gets the best welcome in California and this night was no exception. The fans cheered and screamed from the beginning to the end of the show and Morrissey himself was in the best of moods. Quite a few fans successfully made it on stage. The highlight of the evening was obviously the appearance of David Bowie who joined Morrissey at the encore for a duet of "Cosmic Dancer". This made the crowd even more ecstatic and, judging by his appearance, also Morrissey. Security was increased while Bowie was on stage. Band members themselves had to stop fans who were desperately trying to reach the duo. That part only of the concert was filmed by Tim Broad.
Despite being in great spirits, Morrissey wasn't very talkative, perhaps because he couldn't even place a word through the constant cheering, as would attest this comment he made following "Asian Rut": "Mah mah mah mah mah mah mah mah mah! If I could just say a few words (crowd screams even more) Well, I've changed my mind, no..." The only other things he had said before that were "Hello!" as he walked on stage, a few thank you's here and there, something that sounded like "Bless that woman!" following "Mute Witness" and "You're very kind after "Sing Your Life".
Footage of "Piccadilly Palare", "Interesting Drug" and "Everyday Is Like Sunday" from this date was shown during a Morrissey interview broadcast by Fox News in Los Angeles on 14 October 1992. The interview was conducted during soundcheck before the Hollywood Bowl concert from either 10 or 11 October 1992. #morrissey

He didn't start doing Smiths songs until 4 years later. He really didn't need to because his early solo work was stellar.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on June 3, 1991, 23-year-old Denise Huber was driving home from a Morrissey concert in Inglewood when her car blew a tire on the 73 toll road.
She was just minutes from the Newport Beach house she shared with her parents.
Even while wearing the heels she’d donned for the concert, it should have been a relatively quick walk to a call box or even a nearby gas station where she could have asked for help.
But her parents, Dennis and Ione Huber, never heard from Denise that night. In the morning, they began calling her friends, asking where she could be.
That night, around 10 p.m., one of those friends found Denise’s Honda still on the side of the freeway, unlocked, its battery drained from the emergency blinkers that had been left running. Denise was gone.
It would take three years - and what the Huber family to this day considers a miracle - before police would discover Denise’s body.
