BTS has been super lucky that their company has made help available to them but not all companies for idols are as aggressive about suing online bullies or getting their artists help. After what happened to a couple of the idols some have gotten better but it still has a long way to go. And yes unlike in America they can take you to court if they have proof of online defamation. And BigHit takes it very seriously. They will not back down no matter what age they are. I’ve seen 15yr olds crying on twitter because they got letters to appear. Don’t write it if you can’t take the heat.
Actually, I think it's better to teach them a lesson while they're still young. Maybe that would make them mature faster and make them think twice before hating online after having to answer to their actions legally

I've been a hip-hophead my whole life. I grew up listening to all the legends and ogs of rap and I only decided to give BTS a chance last year. Not only is the rap-line the best in k-pop but they're definitely some of the most intellectual and skilled rappers I've ever come across and they're definitely way better that most recent western rappers

I don't know if anybody has told you before, but that is why between Army we encorage each other to not check lyric videos and instead go to doolset. So we can know the meaning of the lyrics as close to what it actually is as possible

Nah, fam. Most people just choose the wrong lyric videos. My rule of thumb is any BTS song released 2017 onwards, the most viewed lyric video is probably someone who rushed out a translation to get as many views as possible. So~ I generally ignore those translations with the most views (songs 2017 and up). If you use youtube lyric videos a lot, you also start to notice who not to go to for translation. Lemoring (the channel they're using here) is one of those untrustworthy translators. Jaeguchi is another to be avoided. You also start to notice who you can generally trust, for example aftaehyung or dial 6137.
One aspect I think a lot of Army miss or dismiss, but this song applies to us as well. Not just BTS haters. When I see Army getting into arguments with other fandoms or between each other, I think of this song. When I see Army being rude or man to reactors such as yourself because the don't like how content is coming out too. Fighting over whether people are voting or not, etc. It's exhausting. Ugh played in the back of my head when I explained something to my coworker. He listened to Justin Bieber's song "Lonely" and said the same thing as the haters BTS depict in the song: "Oh yeah, bet he's so lonely in his multi-million dollar mansion, surrounded by all these commodities and celebrity friends" and I said back "yes, he might be. Just because he has more than you and me have, he's still human." Every day I thank BTS for not being just another boy group but for actually putting out a message.

The bts rapline is what got me into bts back in 2017. Ive always been into western music, specifically r&b and hip hop... i had never even heard of kpop or any korean music back in that time. So i decided to give them a shot, I was instantly impressed with Yoongi and then Namjoon and Hobi. I tried listening to other groups and checking out their raplines shortly after that.. and while some of them are okay, bts' rapline was and is by far the most seasoned and skilled one i have ever come across for Kpop groups. You can hear it in their lyrics and flow, how passionate they are when it comes to this genre. ( all very different as well). Since the very beginning they have always had a hand in their lyrics and production and it shows. I love showing rapline songs to my local friends, especially bc many of them dont expect them to be this good or likable lol.
I love Ugh so much! And later Suga says a lot of the same things with Haegeum, too. He has a problem with people who make the world worse instead of better 😁 So do I, I'm right there with him on that. The idea of telling people to stop wasting their anger on pointlessly hurting people and use it to change the world instead... It's such a good message, such an important one, and not something we generally hear in music 🤣 I think of Ugh as really highlighting Suga's own anger, but Hobi's delivery in it is really amazing and intense, and RM sets up a complex topic with brilliant wordplay - so they're all playing to their strengths 💜

Hate in K-pop is the worst . Many idols in K-pop have committed su*cide because of the continuous hate and depression and it's still going on . And those who did it were also from famous successful groups . It even happened last year too
its worth mentioning that in general korea ranks in the top 5 out of all countries pretty consistently year after year for suicide rate, so it is a large problem there overall. being a kpop idol in an industry that is fast paced, high pressure and dosen't prioritize physical or mental health will definitely make it even worse though.
Most of BTS's songs have much deeper meaning and it means exactly what explanation videos are saying if you see all the member's interviews about those songs and albums. what they talk about during their lives. i mean from their debut itself they had started giving out very deep messages about societal issues.

A song is dropped and within an hour the lyric videos show up. Many have errors in translations or who is singing what part.
Abby was correct in saying you've heard this before. It was in one of the first videos you guys watched which was their Festa Room Live performance. It was, however, shortened quite a bit during that.
Glad you guys did the explanation video as well. Tbh the lyric video you watched had very awful lyric translations. I was trying to read and they seemed to be quite off and had mistakes. At least they got who sang what perfectly while the explanation made some errors in that regard. Great video as always guys. I would appreciate it if you looked at some explanation videos for Go Go as well though. You guys heard it in the Love Yourself: Her album but I feel like there are some good explanations to shed light on what they speak about in that song. *Edited to add: A lot of these color coded lyric videos are done very poorly. They speed through making the videos and don't translate well and sometimes even get who sings what wrong just so they can have them out a couple hours after the song comes out. I'm not sure how you guys pick which version or from what channels to use but sometimes you can stumble upon a well made, well translated one that takes the time to even point out who harmonizes on parts of the songs and other times you can get one that literally writes the opposite of what the lyrics actually mean like this one today. The well made ones usually come out months or even years after the song came out while the worst ones come out like at 2:00 a.m. after the song/album was dropped at midnight. Just be mindful I suppose. Or let your mods screen color coded videos before you watch.

Lyric videos are often wrong in the way they do translation. I personally try to read at least 3 translations of lyrics, especially with BTS who really do a lot of wordplay and use very complex vocabulary, since each translator will filter their own pov and culture into their work.
just analyzing the video with you guys made me remember of a passage in the bible that says something like 'get angry but do not sin' and idk if they were aware of that but it just made me realise how wise they are.. i love them anyways, watch the live performance they nailed it!
25:20 just letting you guys know that A LOT of those lyrics videos on RUclips are not super accurate because the creators try to put out their videos as soon as possible to get the most views, so there are a lot of mistakes in those, whether it’s highlighting the wrong member for a part or just not translating the lyrics accurately :/

David did mention on his live that HYBE did offer him a job but he turned them down since he was an entrepreneur and taking the job would be restricted to just doing work for HYBE and not make videos or his online businesses.
David Kim mentioned on a Live he co-hosts a couple of months ago that he had been approached to work at HYBE in the creative dept and was told that he and the Explanation Video's were well know by the company staff. So one can assume, (as he had), that BTS has seen their work and was ok with it because if BTS weren't ok, I think David and Danny (DKDKTV David Kim & Danny Kim TV), would've received a different kind of communication from HYBE.....lol. David turned them down for whatever reasons.

It's a song that Koreans can fully understand. I'm grateful that foreigners can understand it easily because the dkdk people explained it so well. There are many hidden meanings of BTS songs, so sometimes Koreans need an explanation. 🤭🤭 Korean culture and Asian culture are quite different. People in Western countries think alike. Korea is still in a lot of anger. It changed history with its power. I'm proud of all this, but on the other hand, I'm worried that more and more people take anger like manure for granted. The bts rapline is what got me into bts back in 2017. Ive always been into western music, specifically r&b and hip hop... i had never even heard of kpop or any korean music back in that time. So i decided to give them a shot, I was instantly impressed with Yoongi and then Namjoon and Hobi. I tried listening to other groups and checking out their raplines shortly after that.. and while some of them are okay, bts' rapline was and is by far the most seasoned and skilled one i have ever come across for Kpop groups. You can hear it in their lyrics and flow, how passionate they are when it comes to this genre. ( all very different as well). Since the very beginning they have always had a hand in their lyrics and production and it shows. I love showing rapline songs to my local friends, especially bc many of them dont expect them to be this good or likable lol.
I love Ugh so much! And later Suga says a lot of the same things with Haegeum, too. He has a problem with people who make the world worse instead of better 😁

I think of Ugh as really highlighting Suga's own anger, but Hobi's delivery in it is really amazing and intense, and RM sets up a complex topic with brilliant wordplay - so they're all playing to their strengths 💜

its worth mentioning that in general korea ranks in the top 5 out of all countries pretty consistently year after year for suicide rate, so it is a large problem there overall. being a kpop idol in an industry that is fast paced, high pressure and dosen't prioritize physical or mental health will definitely make it even worse though.

Glad you guys did the explanation video as well. Tbh the lyric video you watched had very awful lyric translations. I was trying to read and they seemed to be quite off and had mistakes. At least they got who sang what perfectly while the explanation made some errors in that regard. Great video as always guys. I would appreciate it if you looked at some explanation videos for Go Go as well though. You guys heard it in the Love Yourself: Her album but I feel like there are some good explanations to shed light on what they speak about in that song.
*Edited to add: A lot of these color coded lyric videos are done very poorly. They speed through making the videos and don't translate well and sometimes even get who sings what wrong just so they can have them out a couple hours after the song comes out. I'm not sure how you guys pick which version or from what channels to use but sometimes you can stumble upon a well made, well translated one that takes the time to even point out who harmonizes on parts of the songs and other times you can get one that literally writes the opposite of what the lyrics actually mean like this one today. The well made ones usually come out months or even years after the song came out while the worst ones come out like at 2:00 a.m. after the song/album was dropped at midnight. Just be mindful I suppose. Or let your mods screen color coded videos before you watch.

Jonghyun who was from the group Shinee got a lot of hate and he couldn't take it an self exited, Same thing as Suli and recently Lee Sun Kyun famous actor who was in the Oscar award winning movie Parasite, it's very brutal being a celebrity in Korea, and with the cancel culture there many do turn to self exiting, S Korea has the #1 highest Suicidal Rate in the country between age 10-19 yr olds a lot of it does come from the demand on young students to study hard to get a good job, then the bullying ( more like torture) in schools is bad as well
Lyric videos are often wrong in the way they do translation. I personally try to read at least 3 translations of lyrics, especially with BTS who really do a lot of wordplay and use very complex vocabulary, since each translator will filter their own pov and culture into their work.

just analyzing the video with you guys made me remember of a passage in the bible that says something like 'get angry but do not sin' and idk if they were aware of that but it just made me realise how wise they are.. i love them

25:20 just letting you guys know that A LOT of those lyrics videos on RUclips are not super accurate because the creators try to put out their videos as soon as possible to get the most views, so there are a lot of mistakes in those, whether it’s highlighting the wrong member for a part or just not translating the lyrics accurately :/

In addition, that channel, DKDK got valid criticism for building a career on reacting to BTS and explaining their songs and then the other member of the team (Danny Kim) said on a podcast that BTS popularity is exhausting and that they're standing in the way of OTHER idol groups and that they should step aside and let new blood take the lead in kpop. That's the hate David is talking about. Interesting because this song could be directed at people like them. Accumulating clout off the backs of BTS and then turn around and publicly shit on them and their achievements to try and lift up others in their place.

David did mention on his live that HYBE did offer him a job but he turned them down since he was an entrepreneur and taking the job would be restricted to just doing work for HYBE and not make videos or his online businesses.
David Kim mentioned on a Live he co-hosts a couple of months ago that he had been approached to work at HYBE in the creative dept and was told that he and the Explanation Video's were well know by the company staff. So one can assume, (as he had), that BTS has seen their work and was ok with it because if BTS weren't ok, I think David and Danny (DKDKTV David Kim & Danny Kim TV), would've received a different kind of communication from HYBE.....lol. David turned them down for whatever reasons.
