As a lifelong hip hop fan, I felt the same way the first time I heard them rap; like why was this hidden from me? They have studied hip hop for so long and it shows.
@@G.Rudi.B for live performances, try to look up "BTS (방탄소년단) OUTRO: TEAR Live Performance" it has eng subtitles. then you can continue with their Chypers live performances. Enjoy the ride :)
No but my sister tried to put me on to BTS but she was playing me the wrong songs. When I seen this????! It blew my mind cause I love hip hop. Down the rabbit while I went. At first I couldn’t understand why I was just listening to something so amazing but then I remembered how dismissive I was. I was soo ashamed !! Now look at me, taking time off for Jimin’s solo debut album and going to a Augst D concert 😂. They got me
You are in for a ride. There's a saying among ARMYs "You will find BTS when you need them the most". All your reaction about them having substance and tackling about important issues are on point. I'm really glad the J.Cole x J-Hope collab opened the doors for more listeners.
I strongly agree that we all received a great gift, nothing is casual, many fans of J-Hope were introduced to J-Cole, and the same is happening to JCOLE fans, for the ones that appreciate both, that was a collaboration we didn't expect but just knew can't live without. Loved your reaction, go on with this rabbit hole.💜
👏👏👏 i can't wait till everyone who has been sleeping on them finds out about how talented they are individually, not to mention as 7! (well that will make ticketing even worse but hey, as long as they get the recoginition they deserve i dont care🤣)
Just to give a little insight when you mentioned "On the Street", J-hope looks up to Cole, even now as big as the name he carries, he still looks up to him. It's not that he allowed Cole to have the song, it's the fact that he wanted to go back to his roots to the little boy that can only glance up towards Cole and not stand beside him just yet. The part where J-Hope goes underground while Cole is on the roof shows us where he started, and at the very end, he is on that roof alongside Cole, where he now stands at the world view. It was a gift to himself and a see you later to us Army. They say to never meet your idol, but can you imagine meeting your idol, your muse, who has readily opened arms to you, what that must have felt like? J-Hope allowed himself to dance, his first love while having his idol do what he does best lyrically. There are more days to come, I don't think this will be the end of seeing Hope and Cole World collide. But yes, you have much, much more to see when it comes to all of BTS.
I can't even explain to you how much it means to see somebody that's thoroughly in love with music listen to and give praise to the rappers of BTS. People often don't take them seriously because of where they come from, and your respect towards them despite that makes my heart warm. Thank you man, truly. Your words are so kind and I hope you continue to enjoy the music they've made.
"the group gotta be dope, because J-Hope was fire" this made me giggle, because they have songs named "Dope" and "Fire" and you will probably react to them both eventually!
In case no one else mentioned it, you may be interested that there are actually explanation videos available for a lot of BTS songs. There are Korean cultural references in their lyrics that most of us Westerners can & will miss, along with wordplay & idioms that translation can't really convey properly. They're not the most comprehensive, but DKDKTV does a pretty good job of explaining references & giving context for, "Ugh!" ruclips.net/video/Cq3nGiu0_gI/видео.html&ab_channel=DKDKTV
@@G.Rudi.B While they do good context explanation, ARMY pretty much does not like DKDKTV, as one member of that channel has been quite nasty and disrespectful towards ARMY and BTS a number of times and is not apologetic about it. They have used ARMY and BTS for clout and we do not like that at all. Another heads up that many of these lyric videos, the translation is often not right. Doolset Bangtan is a website that has the lyrics and the context explained as is the best option. Some of these videos also monetise their videos and that's a no no with ARMY. There are some lyric videos out there that don't do this, but the vast majority of the colour coded ones are not recommended at all. ruclips.net/video/HPZdb5bptCQ/видео.html This is the live performance of it with Eng subtitles available.
Also ARMY doesn't mind long videos, as long as the reactor is listening and watching with an open mind, we love seeing people fall down the rabbit hole to join us. 💜
@@G.Rudi.B you should listen to 'ddaeng' by BTS and then watch it's explanation video. That lyricism is gonna blow your mind. Also, 'Daechwita' by Agust D and it's explanation- you will love it!
One of the reasons why they're the BIGGEST boy group in the world rn is because of their lyricism. Like you said, they're not just mumbling random sh*t, they have substance. They're telling you a story.
You're absolutely right about it being God given and not "learned". RM is a true student of the culture, he knows the history of rap and feels it in his bones. Suga grew up with classical music and was always a composer. He got an Eminem CD as a young teen, it changed his trajectory. Hope was always a dancer (check out his solo practice videos, he's awesome) and didn't start rapping until his late teens, but hip hop was always in his blood. These dudes, eat, sleep, and breathe hip hop.
Now the book is out, and everyone can read about the school of hip-hop and the school of dance back in the trainee days, thanks to the Herculean efforts of RM, Suga, and J-Hope.
Check out Cypher Pt.3 next if you like! Plus their Yet To Come show in Busan. They performed some heavy songs back to back - live! 🤪 Hope you're having fun discovering BTS! It's a good ass time in these purple streets haha
You’re going viral on BTS Army Twitter so I decided to come check out your reactions and you didn’t disappoint. These men are the real deal bro. I grew up on 90s and early 2000s HipHop and when I was introduced to BTS over 5 years ago, I was instantly blown away by their artistry and dedication to their craft. It’s a deep deep rabbit hole but I can assure you you’ll love every second of it. And as a HipHop Lover, there’s so much music and content to uncover. I would suggest you do the Cyphers (1-4) next but whatever you choose to do, I’m here for it. Enjoy the Journey 💜
i can't think of anyone who deserves to go viral more, it's so refreshing to find a reactor who adamantly respects artists and the work that goes into their art, and has such an global, open mind and articulates things with so much thought and care......
"Where tf have I been?!", said everyone who starts getting into BTS 😆 I felt the same way when I got into them, it was so fun getting to delve into their discography and be continuously blown away by their genius. And "What does BTS stand for?" is such a great question. A question that you'll get the answer to the more you read their lyrics. Enjoy!
Totally, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who felt this eay, I was feeling lonely... Left out of a party is indeed the best way to describe this emotion!
I had no idea K Pop sounded like this either. I listened to the Map of the Soul 7 album cleaning my house one day and went “WHAT?!” Blown away by the talent. I’ve been ARMY ever sense. Welcome to the party!
I'm also mots7 era Army, after reading their lyrics I was mesmerized I didn't expect such deep stuff Not that I was expecting it to be stupid, I just was mesmerized, like "wdym the concept is from a book" way
BTS doesn't make songs like Kpop at all tho, that's probably the main reason why they got so much bigger than the whole Kpop industry. I used to be a to 1st and 2nd gen Kpop stan but now I'ma hip-hop fan/BTS ARMY. As someone who's listen to a lot of Kpop I must say BTS are VERY different than the whole "Kpop bubble", their music, their artistic freedom, the way they don't give a fk about the Kpop rules made by the higher ups and their passion for music is something you don't see in Kpop at all.
My guy...One word... "Daechwita". You're welcome! (And watch the music video with the subs on. Suga hit so hard! And the video is basically a feature film.) 🔥🔥🔥
Yes, too bad you just learned about them because Suga aka AgustD aka Yoongi (the rapper in the middle here) is going to perform in USA and the tickets sold out in minutes just last week 😵💫
the genuine shock on your face when yoongi started off the song got me in tears... also your betrayed look when talking about being left out of this. love the way you talk about the music, the base, the beats, the lyrics, just everything. it feels like youre genuinely apprecciating every single part of the song. really cool reaction video, thank you so much!
I dig it when non-Kpop stans listen to BTS's music with a fair and open mind ... and end up loving it! Thank you for this awesome reaction, Bro. Luckily for all of us, BTS has a HUGE discography to enjoy. It's pretty much all here on RUclips, within easy reach 💜 💜
49 year old black female over here, new Army since this January this year. I can't get enough of these rappers. They make their own beats, do their own composing, enginerring, mastering, and producing. And Suga has an award for his producing skill and the youngers producer at the time to get that when he had it a few years ago. And Bone Thugs was my jam bavk in the day and played Crossroads everyday 😂😂😂.
BTS stands for the Korean phrase Bangtan Sonyeondan (방탄소년단), which literally translate to English into the Bulletproof Boy Scouts. J-Hope explained, "it has a profound meaning […] ‘Bangtan’ means to be resistant to bullets, so it means to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets, to preserve the values and ideal of today’s adolescents.” 2017 they added the name 'Beyond the Scene' as the English meaning of BTS' acronym. However most people just call them BTS, Bangtan Sonyeondan or Bangtan Boys.
@@G.Rudi.B lol most people (aka ARMY and BTS) just pretended BTS doesn’t stand for behind the scenes lol. I mean during an interview on Jimmy Fallon they asked what BTS meant said, “BTS stands for Bangtan not behind the scenes, I mean for your information”… (they way RM answers is actually more funny when you hear it compared to reading it, in my opinion)
@@amberpearce710 yes because a lot of western people think it's behind the scene but it's beyound the scene. But it's just a second meaning like a subtitle.
i don't think he's ready for ddaeng😭 Because ddaeng has some god-level wordplay going on. That word ddaeng has more than 7 meanings and the delivery oooffff. Let's start a little easy for him. Let this guy warm up a little.
Been in this for 3 years and I'm still going down the rabbit hole🙃 RM's album Indigo is something you must experience. Truly a masterpiece. Welcome to the fandom, we appreciate you 💜
These lyrics are even deeper than surface translations too. If you watch DKDKtv explanations on some of their stuff to break down their bars it will blow your mind. I would say with Ddaeng especially…RM uses the word to mean 7 different things in one song…masters of their craft! Welcome to the ARMY 💜
BTS have more than 300 songs and they never had a bad song fr..they always delivered and they discography is so wide and have so many genres..they have released 9 studio albums (four of them are Japanese-language), 6 compilation albums (four of them are Japanese-language), four repackage albums, 9 mini albums (six of them are Korean-language, and the other three are English-language and are only available on digital platforms), fifteen singles (ten of them are Japanese-language, four are English-language, and the other one is Korean-language), and twenty-two digital singles (two of them are Japanese digital singles, and the other one are Chinese digital single). Their latest album is PROOF, which is their anthology album (including songs from 2013-2021 and 3 new songs: Yet to Come, Run BTS, For Youth) released on June 10, 2022, through Big Hit Music. The 3-disc project comprises several of the band's singles through the years; a selection of discography "favorites" chosen by the band members; and various demos and previously unreleased tracks. J-hope (Jung Hoseok/Hobi) has 136 writing credits including his solo projects (His mixtape: Hope World and his album Jack In The Box), he wrote his own lyrics on BTS songs..all 3 rappers in BTS (the Rapline) always write their own verse and Suga (Min Yoongi also known as Agust D for his solo projects) is also one of their producer i hope you check him out, one of his song is 'Daechwita' it's super dope! He will have a world tour soon! also RM (Kim Namjoon) is a genius, he wrote a lot of BTS songs and he's the leader of the group, he's fluent in English (self learning) check out his latest album: 'Indigo'. Recommended Rapline songs: - Outro: Tear - Ugh! (You already reacted to the lyrics video pls react to the live performance next) - Ddaeng - Chyper pt.1 - Chyper pt. 4 (you can definitely see their progressions here) You can check the vocal line after this they're amazing as well Oh I'm really excited following this journey with you..enjoy the ride and welcome to the rabbit hole!
Suga and RM were underground rappers before being in BTS. And J-Hope was in an underground dance team. BTS was made to be a hip hop group at first and they have strong bases in Hip hop and always make sure to remind people where they came from and who their inspirations are. I recommend listening to Tear (though this song has a deeper meaning) but their live performance is... god. Ddaeng is incredible but difficult to understand for non-koreans due to the many korean references and play on words but it's so good. And then each rapper has mixtapes and J-hope and RM both had albums come out recently. I recommend listening to all of BTS to be honest. Their diversity of their music, the depth of their lyrics, the skills and performances. Truly, once you start going down that rabbit hole, you never come back. Sorry dude LOL
It wasn't about J-Hope being modest in On the Street. J-Hope is a dancer at his core and the fact that he got to dance over Cole spittin a hot verse had to be dope as fuck for him.
Hope was being modest and showing respect. That's the way he is. RM and Suga will throw their weight around when they feel it but J-Hope isn't built that way. For one thing, he loves being part of a team and working harmoniously. He has his dark side but he never really throws shade on others. The rapline is an amazing balance of talents, both individually and together.
Agreed. But at the same time... Maybe Hobi didn't want to outshine him and he could've, Bangtan blood is passionate blood, whoever is centre will own the centre. That's why it's hard not to love them all.
BTS' rap line is in a league of their own. Underground rappers who joined a hip hop group that ended up becoming an idol group instead. BTW, Suga is embarking on a solo tour as his alter ego Agust D in the USA starting soon. Shows sold out as soon as they went on sale but if you can afford it, you could probably find tickets. Check out all the cyphers too! It's a must. Thank you again for being so open-minded and taking the time to open the door to the rabbit hole 💜💜💜💜
Getting a ticket to their concert is harder than winning a lottery. The demand is higher than the amount of tickets. I hope you get to experience BTS live someday! I went to their PTD tour concerts in LA a year ago. It is nothing like anything else. Incredible performers!
@pinkivankar9973 I know!! Just letting him know just in case he could manage to get a ticket, haha.. But I'm definitely saving already for anything coming on 2026, hopefully! So lucky you got to see them live at PTD LA, I watched all of those online :')
My daughter & I were lucky to get PTD tickets in LA, SO-FI for their 1st concert. When we got back to our hotel (1:00 AM), daughter got online & FOUND TICKETS for the 2nd night!! Sooo we got to see them TWICE in Los Angeles! What an amazing albeit a chaotic concert…70,000 x 4 nights! Crazy. Anyway, POINT IS, TRY for AGUST D tickets often. Ya never know what’ll come up!! We flew from TEXAS to go to concert, the FIRST one AFTER COVID! 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
I very much hope that somewhere in these 3000 comments you've been recommended their song "Born Singer", which is an adaptation of Born Sinner by J.Cole and tells the story of them as young hopeful rappers to debuting as idols to ten years into their career so it seems like it'd be right up your alley. They wrote it right after they debuted and put it out on their own, and then re-mastered it for 2022 when Cole allowed them to release it officially.
So fucking happy when people find out what bts actually is. They write about the most important shit and they change lives every day man. One of the most important points of the group, is to hopefully help people to love and better themselves. Thanks for starting this journey man I swear to you it will be the most amazing journey ❤️🩹 also the rapline makes just about all the beats the talent is insane and the writing talent as well.
Absolutely CRIMINAL how i have seen no one recommend the masterpieces that are "Interlude: Shadow" and "Daechwita"! You're going to absolutely LOVE them, I swear Great video! Thank you for giving our boys a chance, and the respect they deserve 🫡
They always help produce and write their own music. Suga and RM were underground rappers since age 13. Their music is ALWAYS meaningful. It's crazy. Outro:Tear live is emotional AF and 🔥🔥🔥
J-Hope verses are always the highlight of the song for me. Like, he is so lyrical, so emotional, so trendy, and melodic all at the same time. His flow change game is superb as well. You have to watch this live (UGH busan concert 2022), they esp Hobi will throw you off your chair, my man! Imagine his verse combined with his insane stage presence, and stable voice together. 🔥🔥
16:40 “…comment section is like google” 😂😂😂 Yes 😅 Army always helps with the information about the guys and the songs, we are very proud and depending on who reacts we help them with the right songs until they reach a point where they discover by themselves the whole BTS' discography, which is wide, diverse and with a lot of genres 💜
In case no one put it in the comments, BTS stands for Bulletproof boyscouts. At first they were teased by name without knowing what it means that with their music and their lyrics they seek to protect the youth from prejudices, insults and expectations that society often places on them. I loved the reaction, every time I see someone give themselves the opportunity to listen to them and see their lyrics, it's because they really understand the message they want to give. And as you say, the origin, color or gender of the person does not matter, music is a universal language. Saludos desde Perú.
Performances to check out cause they’re even better live: -Ugh! & Cypher 3 in Busan (2022) just insane, their energy in this performance was fueled by their government using them and trying to control them -Wings Tour The Final Cypher Medley (2017) a medley of their cyphers in front of a huge azz audience to match their even huger stage presence -Ddaeng (2018) genius word play and sound play, my fave RM rap, prod SUGA 🔥
Busan Yet To Come Concert is the first time they performed UGH in front of a live crowd as they previously had to do it during lockdown and the fans were on monitors. YOU MUST WATCH their live energy🔥I am absolutely a fan of you, Sir. Wait until you see J-Hope’s swag.
Ugh @Busan is my favorite performance from BTS rapline EVER. RM said they wouldn't perform it in concert again. So much tied up in the announcement to join the military 2 days later. Cypher 3-Killer makes Ugh look tame.🔥🔥
@@katiemangum5051 enjoy bts more no longer has videos from the Busan concert (I guess they’ve been taken down) but I found one video with the performance but it doesn’t have subs- ruclips.net/video/YfVMhZ5_x2E/видео.html
There's a lot of onomatopeias used in the song and knowing what each means will make this song even more amazing that it already is. We love reactors who check the boys' lyrics because they're gold mines. Our boys don't mess around with their lyrics. They're amazing artists.
I was the same “why nobody told me they were not like other k-pop groups and they were more than k-pop” I was laughing like you because of the shock and regret that I found them late. When my sis told me she had told me about them and even asked me to listen to them but I hadn’t, I was like “why didn’t just force me, you could just force me to watch”
I am your sister 😂 I have been an army since the beginning and my sister just became a fan around 2016 and my mom around 2020, is funny bc they always ignored what I liked and now they are obsessed 😂
I would say ‘Enjoy BTS more’ has pretty good live performance with english subtitles. Also normally color coded lyrics translations aren’t accurate. Loving your reactions💜.
@@G.Rudi.Bthe best source for lyric translations and cultural context is a blog called Doolset Bangtan. They are the gold standard for fan sourced lyric translations and for lyric videos, I would recommend Dial 6137
@@jiminlove6037 He already listened to J-hope 1st so I recommended 1 song from each of the others in the rap line. He just started his BTS journey and will be overwhelmed in the comments with many recommendations so I limited mine
@@anoushkagadhwal4553 Being an official member ($22/year) is critical then its luck to be randomly selected to try to buy tixs. I just hope Ticketmaster gets rid of premium pricing before an OT7 concert. I was lucky to get 3 $99 tixs for me and 2 friends but seats that would normally be $100 to $300 kept changing value to $900 to $1000. I went to BTS concerts in LA & Vegas and the prices were $60 to $150
I remember an interview in which RM said Suga wrote/produce a song a day, and Suga corrected him, saying he only did 200 something the past year lol these boys are PASSIONATE. They made a song called Black Swan that talks about losing passion for music and how that’d be the first death of an artist (second being actual death), like they CAN’T live without music and dance, that’s their whole life.
BTS stands for BangTan Sonyeondan, it means bulletproof boyscouts in korean. their concept from the start was to be a shield to protect youth and stand for their rights. they spoke up abt pressure on young ppl like having to get to a big school, struggling with money, finding your path in a society that despises you, finding a way to be happy despite having no support from your family and institutions. they've been talking abt social justice since day 1, hence their name. hope it helps :] im so happy you're discovering their songs, their lyricism is DOPE and their beats are insaneeeee so welcome, hope you'll enjoy the ride fam
Suga is actually doing a solo world tour as his alter-ego, Agust D, this spring. All the shows are sold out, but if you want to spend big money, you can probably find resale tickets. He'll be in LA, Oakland, Chicago, NY in April & May. The group is on hiatus at the moment because they all have to do their mandatory military enlistmentk, so they are working on solo projects until they have all completed enlistment and will reunite in 2025. Also, this live performance of Ugh! has pretty good subtitles but the video isn't the greatest quality: ruclips.net/video/YTc-oo7-Cb0/видео.html
You should check out „Outro: Tear“. They go off even more in that song. The lyrics are great and emotional as they wrote that song in 2018 when they thought about disbanding. It‘s the first song I heard of the rap line. I already liked BTS before that, but I only knew songs with all 7 members together and I wasn’t really into Rap or Hip-Hop. But when I heard and saw them perform Outro Tear I was soooo hooked. There is a great live video of their Los Angeles concert with subtitles. (Outro: Tear live performance - eng sub) they are just crazy good live. After that I also dived into Jhopes solo work 💜
That’s exactly me! Rap wasn’t my thing at all before, i kinda thought their songs would be better without rap (can t believe I ever thought that…). It lasted for 5 months, and then i heard / saw outro: tear after the truth untold (I had only come for the vocalists’ song at first). But I was SO blown away!! 3 years have passed since, and now I have a huge love for rap and hip hop. Amazingly, my favorite songs of BTS are now the rapline ´s songs!
Your channel came onto my timeline. I love your reaction and enthusiasm to our Guyz. I have been in their fandom since 2018. You've said so many things that I've always thought about why they are so disrespected for their work. I love these Boyz my term of endearment for them. I look forward to seeing more reactions of the rapline and BTS. I am going to the AgustD concert in May. Can't wait!💜
@@dinaarmymom9145 I think it has a lot to do with the term boyband. People in the US and Europe hear "boyband" and put them in a box with One Direction and refuse to look further. Especially when it's combined with the term K-Pop. I've seen it with tons of western reactors, reviewers, articles, etc
BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondeon which means Bulletproof Boy Scouts and their goal was to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets. Social commentary and criticism has pretty much been their brand since they debuted but there's too many to list under that category. Try outro: tear or ddaeng for the same vibe as ugh. Suga has a second persona called agust d and the title track is of the same vibe of ugh's harder rap style; in his album D2 he does a lot of self reflection and pays homage to the rappers that inspired him in Moonlight the beat and sound is very old school. Strange is also amazing and try Honsool if you wanna be spooked. Rm has hard stuff from his earlier mixtapes, but his album Indigo just came out. It's a softer and more poetic style, but he doesn't sacrifice any musicality with it. Wildflower is my all time favorite and Change pt. 2 and Yun with Erykah Badu are just phenomenal.
I'm 54 years old and my 16 years old daughter (Army since she was 12) told me to listen to this song, my reaction was like his😂. I watched this video at least 50 times. I love watching him go down that rabbit hole that I've been in the past 2 years and refuse to resurface.
I really do appreciate you listening to their songs without judgement. We try to get people to give bts a chance but it always result to prejudice and racism. They never listen to us when we say how insanely talented bts are. Thank you for your kind words and giving them a chance this mean a lot💜
99% of BTS songs include sections that were written by each rapper, as well as a good line distribution for the singers. For sure catch the rap-only songs, but don't limit yourself to the 1% of songs that feature only the rap line. Think about trying some of the following songs as they are amazing - Mic Drop, Fake Love, Not Today, and ON. In "ON" I love RM's section below: (Look) Look at my feet, look down The shadow resembles me Is it the shadow that's shaking Or is it my feet that are trembling Of course I'm not unafraid Of course it's not all okay But I know Awkwardly I flow. BTS is also crazy good live, so the 2018 and 2019 MMA award performances are really great.
The BTS rap line / trio rappers are the powerhouses when it comes to writing, composing, and producing. The 3 are most credited in their discography among the 7 members.
It’s a joy to see someone discover BTS and to appreciate that they write and produce their own music. They are so talented and I love it when they get the props they deserve.
I grew up in the 90s so I like Bone Thugs-n-Harmony too and haven’t loved much in the new generation until BTS. I like how you appreciate music. There’s so much reactors on here only reacting to BTS to get likes but not really appreciating the level of artistry. It was refreshing and satisfying watching your reaction. Looking forward to you discovering more music from BTS. ☺️💜
The thing is, BTS’s music is popping worldwide but it’s still not reaching its full audience for two reasons. Firstly the perception that they’re nothing but a cute pop boyband for teen girls, and secondly the unwillingness of radio to play anything not in English🤷♀️. That’s why ARMY are so happy to spread the word one new person at a time. Enjoy!💜 Btw, although there are still lots of performances with no subtitles, there’s an amazing channel called Enjoy BTS More who is putting up live performance videos with English subs. (Where footage is likely to be copyright blocked they will use a ‘stage mix’ which combines video footage of more than one performance but with audio from a single performance).
I know that this reaction is a year old and I found you a little late but thank you for your great reactions, I am really enjoying them! I see that you went to the D-Day concert, but, you should definitely check out the performance they did of this song at their Yet to Come concert in Busan. It was absolute fire ❤🔥and is so worth the watch! The rap line performed Ugh! along with Cypher Pt 3: Killer back to back.
The lyrics when translated in english are amazing. If you have some time, there are videos by korean's explaining the lyrics and references behind every word and it just makes you appreciate their lyricism even more. There is so much thought behind every line, they don't just throw words together because they rhyme and are catchy.
WEEWOOO!! WEEWOOO!! ATTENTION ARMY….I think we got him!! I THINK WE GOT HIM!! 2 or 3 more videos and he might be one of us!! This fandom is EVERYTHING!! It is amazing to be one of us!! You need to know how much better your life will be once you let go and give in to the love that is BTS!! Borahae! 💜
BTS stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan, which means Bulletproof Boy scouts in Korean. Please don't feel bad that you didn't know about them earlier. They tend to get put in boxes that they don't really fit into (kpop, boyband, etc), but the boxes keep people from discovering how great they are. You are here now. Welcome! 💜 Their last concert was in Busan, Korea. The channel Enjoy BTS More has it available with subtitles. I highly recommend it. They even performed Ugh.
"Music has no gender or race" that's BTS. Love how excited you are discovering BTS. Not only there music but they donate so much to humanitarian causes. BTS members walk thier talk 💜
Each and every one of BTS songs are lyrical masterpieces filled with multiple meanings, bars, incredible passion and love for each other, and their fandom, ARMY. Thank you for your videos, high quality content and feedback
No two BTS songs sound the same so don't expect to more tracks like this, BTS knows how to keep it fresh! They have something for everyone which is why their fanbase is in the tens of millions worldwide. Exactly, I am a 60yr old ARMY. You are never too late or too early to th the party. BTS and ARMY are connected in ways you (and others) can not imagine. ARMY will always help guide you on your fall down the rabbit hole. Welcome to the Magic Shop, the door is always open. 💜💜
One of the reasons BTS is as big as they are is that you get a little bit of everything when you listen to them. With three rappers and four singers, you can get rap, hip hop, pop, ballads, rock - basically everything. And what makes it remarkable is that it is ALL good. I can put on a BTS playlist, and then one minute I'm near tears and the next I'm going hard. I hope you can find lots of music that you enjoy from their numerous group and solo projects! I'm going to suggest you listen to Daechwita by AgustD (Suga). Tear is my favorite BTS rapline song.
Definitely you will enjoy Outro; Tear, there's a live performance with subtitles on RUclips. Also if you want a full concert, Disney+ has Permission to Dance Live with the full team of 7. J-Hope full Lollapalooza concert is on RUclips.
Outro: Tear IS A MUST since you like deep lyrics!!!! Here is the link for a live performance with subtitles. m.ruclips.net/video/UDuaJGYe8EQ/видео.html And here’s the lyric video if you would prefer that as well, but I recommend watching both! m.ruclips.net/video/L7hZ8Z9sM38/видео.html

as someone who listened to rap/hiphop and knew jcole way before i knew jhope and bts, im so glad last year i was introduced to them through jhopes album jack in the box. They really have talent and i’m glad more and more people like you give them a chance.
There is a great explanation video for this from DKDKTV. This song hits even HARDER when you understand the insane word play and the cultural references! There is no official MV for this song. There is a live performance from an online concert they did during the pandemic and they do part of it during the "BTS Room Live FESTA" where they do a 10 minute medley of b-side tracks from all of their full albums from debut (2013) to the present... at the time (2020). You also have to be careful with the fan-made lyric videos... they are usually only about 70% accurate. The DKDKTV explanation video will also have the best translations.
It is absolutely true that Hobi (Jhope) let Cole have the lead in on the street and there's a good reason behind it. He said when he was preparing for the song that he wants to go back to his roots, where it all started from. Cole has always been the biggest inspiration for Hobi. Hobi started as street dancer and became a rapper later. And he used to dance to cole's rap which is why he let him take the lead and stepped back himself coz that's how it all started. Cole taking the lead and Hobi following in his steps. Also there are many hints in the mv that signify that. Him saying "J in the air" while he himself is in streets but Cole is on terrace. The whole video he has shown Cole above his own level and represented the streets himself. At the end of video they meet on the terrace which symbolizes the present, when Hobi has finally met his muse and earned that respect to stand beside him.
"The Bass line is in my back" LOL That made me holler and I felt that! Ugh is the truth . The BTS rapline is the truth . BTS is the truth :) 55 yr old Army here .
While they're enlisting on military, we have till' 2025 to save money to go to one of their future concerts. I'll wait for them to return healthy and safely to make the music and concerts they love to do 💜
You know one thing about BTS ? They make rap music enjoyable even to us older people. Yep I'm nearly 50 and now I enjoy hiphop more than before thanks to them. 💜
same i never liked hiphop but bts changed all of that. and the fact that they dont talk about drugs sex and violence is refreshing. i mean every western mv now a days have half naked woman in them. BTS make people believe in music again music made from the soul and not what sells.
I would’ve called you insane if you ever told me that I’d ever get into hiphop and rap due to BTS. They’re the only reason I gave this genre another chance. Seriously, they’re representing the genre well
They were heavily influenced and inspired by American hip hop, rap and Black culture since they were kids. They learned from the best and put their own spin on it. It's incredible. And it's a testament to how influential Black American music, culture, fashion, dance has been and will be globally. ♥️
JHope is really underrated. His background was in hip-hop dance but he took up rapping when he joined BTS. Suga and RM were underground rappers when they joined BTS. I know JCole is well respected in the American rap industry but JHope is not someone who is just starting out. JHope, along with the rest of the BTS members are known worldwide. I hope you will look into more of JHope's works. You will find that he is very versatile with his rap music, dance, and singing.
He is not uderrsated at all lol He is the most successful & most critically acclaimed soloist, you seriousky need to currate your enviroment if u still see that he is "underated"
@yarikun325 I am a huge JHope fan. I know his worth. I also keep up with his successes worldwide. The reason I say he is underrated is mostly due to new reactions from mostly American utubers on the JHopes' collaboration with JCole. It seems many new reactions are made because of their respect for JCole. I understand that. JCole is a phenomenal rapper in my opinion too. But I keep hearing how JCole is helping JHope because of this collaboration. Several have not even heard of JHope. They seem to give all the credit to JCole because he spit out some bad*** lines. I even hear some reactors saying that it is a JCole song and that he is the one doing the whistling. JHope respects JCole as his muse and gave JCole a huge role in the song. JHope and his producers wrote the song and JHope created the whistle to it. My "underrated" remark was in response to the reactions I am hearing from reactors' comments on JHope. I am glad most are now opening up about hearing more of JHope. He is an artist in his own right. Seems like you were offended by my comments, did not mean to offend you, but so be it.
They are legend for their rap line. They sing about real life stuff that hits everyone in some way. They don't sing about "stupid stuff" for lack of better terminology. Now you understand why ARMY loves them so much and are considered the most loyal fan base in the world. This IS BTS. 💜💜
Glad you’re loving the BTS rapline journey! Check out the Cyphers or Daechwita off Suga’s solo album and if you can their live performances really are next level to see.
The way i giggle every time i see someone reacting to the rap line for the first time…

As a lifelong hip hop fan, I felt the same way the first time I heard them rap; like why was this hidden from me? They have studied hip hop for so long and it shows.
On GOD…you can tell bro
They Even did a reality show a decade ago of them studying hiphop in the USA. Impressive.

@@G.Rudi.B for live performances, try to look up "BTS (방탄소년단) OUTRO: TEAR Live Performance" it has eng subtitles. then you can continue with their Chypers live performances. Enjoy the ride :)
You have to react to the rap line solos
Suga- Agust D or Daechwita
Jhope- Hansaang/Arson
Rm- Do you/ Joker
And for unit do Ddaeng and Cyphers 1-4!!
They got me
😂😂…again, u can’t deny good music.🤷🏾♂️

You are in for a ride. There's a saying among ARMYs "You will find BTS when you need them the most". All your reaction about them having substance and tackling about important issues are on point. I'm really glad the J.Cole x J-Hope collab opened the doors for more listeners.
I strongly agree that we all received a great gift, nothing is casual, many fans of J-Hope were introduced to J-Cole, and the same is happening to JCOLE fans, for the ones that appreciate both, that was a collaboration we didn't expect but just knew can't live without. Loved your reaction, go on with this rabbit hole.💜
SUGA/ Agust D in US this April/May. If you can score a ticket don't have to wait for Korea!
Oof. I found BTS when I needed them the most and didn’t know it. I was crying every day for weeks. WTF lmao.
Exactly, word for word!!!
Amen!!!
Like SUGA said "when you listen without prejudice, you will love BTS" Im so glad you are liking their music and their message! welcome to the party!!
He said it perfectly
👏👏👏 i can't wait till everyone who has been sleeping on them finds out about how talented they are individually, not to mention as 7! (well that will make ticketing even worse but hey, as long as they get the recoginition they deserve i dont care🤣)
the way he looked genuinely betrayed we left him out 😂😂...i loved this reaction so much💜
I felt that same feeling to my sooooouuuul 😅
Me four years ago when I found them.....like wtf army why didn't you tell me about this sooner🙄😂
This is how I feel during 2015 when I discovered them 😂
My first reaction was the rap line. The rest is history 😂😂😂😂
"Nobody's rapping like this." You're damn right! Also, your look of betrayal had me in tears 😆
But yes, you have much, much more to see when it comes to all of BTS.
beautifully said.
You put that sooo eloquently. Thank you!
Jhope and J Cole met in person at Lollapalooza. Jhope was so excited and told J Cole he was his muse. It was recorded on a Bangtan Bomb I think.
girl you ate this down
You put it so well thankyou💜
"The Baseline is in my back" might be one of the best lines uttered by a reactor...😊
FR LMAO i replayed that part bc it was so funny
this line from him got me consider to get new proper headphones
Until you realize its a jhope song 😂
4:52 always trust RM to give you meaningful lyrics. That's our leader. Main rapper.
100%
"the group gotta be dope, because J-Hope was fire" this made me giggle, because they have songs named "Dope" and "Fire" and you will probably react to them both eventually!
me when he kept saying baseline
that made me giggle too haha Dope is in fact a dope song
😂😂😂
Dope is my 4 yr old son’s favorite song! Along with 50 others haha
In case no one else mentioned it, you may be interested that there are actually explanation videos available for a lot of BTS songs. There are Korean cultural references in their lyrics that most of us Westerners can & will miss, along with wordplay & idioms that translation can't really convey properly.
They're not the most comprehensive, but DKDKTV does a pretty good job of explaining references & giving context for, "Ugh!"
ruclips.net/video/Cq3nGiu0_gI/видео.html&ab_channel=DKDKTV
Ok, cuz I don’t wanna miss anything said in these songs so that’s definitely a must..good lookin 🫡
Also, Gameboyy, Suga is coming to US for his solo world tour. Tickets are sold out but people might resell. Your mind will be blown.

I feel like a proud parent. I love it when people listen to BTS objectively and see them for the geniuses they are. Great reaction.
I feel that too. Im glad to see genuin reactions toward our boy’s Art
Me too💜
Same, I saw a couple people share on twitter and came to check out the full video

Same!
"Where tf have I been?!", said everyone who starts getting into BTS 😆
I felt the same way when I got into them, it was so fun getting to delve into their discography and be continuously blown away by their genius.
And "What does BTS stand for?" is such a great question. A question that you'll get the answer to the more you read their lyrics. Enjoy!
So real😂😂 it doesn't matter when you got into them, you're always hurt about not having been there earlier fr. BTS been that shit since their debut.
I'm also mots7 era Army, after reading their lyrics I was mesmerized I didn't expect such deep stuff
Not that I was expecting it to be stupid, I just was mesmerized, like "wdym the concept is from a book" way
To be fair "kpop" doesn't sound like what BTS does. For me, they far transcended kpop long ago. They're simply different
Its THE BTS SOUND
BTS doesn't make songs like Kpop at all tho, that's probably the main reason why they got so much bigger than the whole Kpop industry.
I used to be a to 1st and 2nd gen Kpop stan but now I'ma hip-hop fan/BTS ARMY. As someone who's listen to a lot of Kpop I must say BTS are VERY different than the whole "Kpop bubble", their music, their artistic freedom, the way they don't give a fk about the Kpop rules made by the higher ups and their passion for music is something you don't see in Kpop at all.
@@camillewilliams3185 I 100% agree with you.

As a Black Army, I love watching us fall in love with them. They're so uber talented. Enjoy the ride.
BTS stands for the Korean phrase Bangtan Sonyeondan (방탄소년단), which literally translate to English into the Bulletproof Boy Scouts. J-Hope explained, "it has a profound meaning […] ‘Bangtan’ means to be resistant to bullets, so it means to block out stereotypes, criticisms, and expectations that aim on adolescents like bullets, to preserve the values and ideal of today’s adolescents.”
2017 they added the name 'Beyond the Scene' as the English meaning of BTS' acronym.
However most people just call them BTS, Bangtan Sonyeondan or Bangtan Boys.
Ohh ok thas deep..Love the meaning..‘Preciate the info fam 🫡💯
@@G.Rudi.B lol most people (aka ARMY and BTS) just pretended BTS doesn’t stand for behind the scenes lol. I mean during an interview on Jimmy Fallon they asked what BTS meant said, “BTS stands for Bangtan not behind the scenes, I mean for your information”… (they way RM answers is actually more funny when you hear it compared to reading it, in my opinion)
@@amberpearce710 yes because a lot of western people think it's behind the scene but it's beyound the scene. But it's just a second meaning like a subtitle.

I love all BTS songs... But Tear, Ddaeng, Cypher's ...I'm obsessed with them
Go god Tear …yes!!! But live performance. This will blow minds
The level of respect he had in the authorized remake of chicken noodle soup
@@Alex-mp8ro For sure :)

BTS (방탄소년단) Cypher Medley (ft. Supreme Boi) live in Seoul 2017 [ENG SUB] [Full HD]
+1
Busan Concert for this one too
Yes!
Great suggestion! That 2017 medley makes me lose my mind
One of my favorite live performances of the Rapline, alongside Outro Tear.
Performances to check out cause they’re even better live:
-Ugh! & Cypher 3 in Busan (2022) just insane, their energy in this performance was fueled by their government using them and trying to control them
-Wings Tour The Final Cypher Medley (2017) a medley of their cyphers in front of a huge azz audience to match their even huger stage presence
-Ddaeng (2018) genius word play and sound play, my fave RM rap, prod SUGA 🔥
Busan Yet To Come Concert is the first time they performed UGH in front of a live crowd as they previously had to do it during lockdown and the fans were on monitors. YOU MUST WATCH their live energy🔥I am absolutely a fan of you, Sir. Wait until you see J-Hope’s swag.
@Enjoy BTS More has pretty good subtitles. Synced up with their performance.
Ugh @Busan is my favorite performance from BTS rapline EVER. RM said they wouldn't perform it in concert again. So much tied up in the announcement to join the military 2 days later. Cypher 3-Killer makes Ugh look tame.🔥🔥
@@katiemangum5051 enjoy bts more no longer has videos from the Busan concert (I guess they’ve been taken down) but I found one video with the performance but it doesn’t have subs- ruclips.net/video/YfVMhZ5_x2E/видео.html
they performed UGH! on ON:E concert for the first time.
See the busan concert is incredible
There's a lot of onomatopeias used in the song and knowing what each means will make this song even more amazing that it already is. We love reactors who check the boys' lyrics because they're gold mines. Our boys don't mess around with their lyrics. They're amazing artists.
I was the same “why nobody told me they were not like other k-pop groups and they were more than k-pop” I was laughing like you because of the shock and regret that I found them late. When my sis told me she had told me about them and even asked me to listen to them but I hadn’t, I was like “why didn’t just force me, you could just force me to watch”
Arghhh me too 😭😭 My sister had been an army since 2015 but I joined army last year 😭 I regret it but maybe that's my best timing :'
I am your sister 😂 I have been an army since the beginning and my sister just became a fan around 2016 and my mom around 2020, is funny bc they always ignored what I liked and now they are obsessed 😂
I AM BEGGING for LIVE Performances! They are crazy on stage!
From Busan concert!!
Tear on stage would be amazing
I would say ‘Enjoy BTS more’ has pretty good live performance with english subtitles. Also normally color coded lyrics translations aren’t accurate. Loving your reactions💜.
Ok good lookin. That’s what I wanna check out next..but yeah I wanna find a page that has the subs most accurate so thanx 💪🏾🫡

Also Jhope's album and mixtape 😀😀😀 weird you didn't mentioned him
@@jiminlove6037 He already listened to J-hope 1st so I recommended 1 song from each of the others in the rap line.
I went to BTS concerts in LA & Vegas and the prices were $60 to $150
He’s really not ready for Yet to come in Busan rapline (or even Run BTS live) might kill him we need to start these new reactors slowly 😂😂😂
omg im going to the la one too which date??!!!
Imagine casually saying you ONLY produced 200 songs in a year 💀💀 kills me every single time
BTS stands for BangTan Sonyeondan, it means bulletproof boyscouts in korean. their concept from the start was to be a shield to protect youth and stand for their rights. they spoke up abt pressure on young ppl like having to get to a big school, struggling with money, finding your path in a society that despises you, finding a way to be happy despite having no support from your family and institutions. they've been talking abt social justice since day 1, hence their name. hope it helps :] im so happy you're discovering their songs, their lyricism is DOPE and their beats are insaneeeee so welcome, hope you'll enjoy the ride fam
This is so entertaining 😭 it’s such a good feeling seeing people start to see what we see in them. This is only the beginning really
This!!!!
I love to come back to this just to giggle 🤣🤣💜
You should check out „Outro: Tear“. They go off even more in that song. The lyrics are great and emotional as they wrote that song in 2018 when they thought about disbanding. It‘s the first song I heard of the rap line. I already liked BTS before that, but I only knew songs with all 7 members together and I wasn’t really into Rap or Hip-Hop. But when I heard and saw them perform Outro Tear I was soooo hooked. There is a great live video of their Los Angeles concert with subtitles. (Outro: Tear live performance - eng sub) they are just crazy good live. After that I also dived into Jhopes solo work 💜
Same for me, Outro : Tear hooked me in the rap line ! But I like the Wembley performance of OUtro: Tear better.
Bruh I’m gonna see Agust D too and I’m freaking losing it I can’t wait
I’m going too! I still can’t believe it!

💜
In "ON" I love RM's section below:
(Look) Look at my feet, look down
The shadow resembles me
Is it the shadow that's shaking
Or is it my feet that are trembling
Of course I'm not unafraid
Of course it's not all okay
But I know Awkwardly I flow.
BTS is also crazy good live, so the 2018 and 2019 MMA award performances are really great.
The BTS rap line / trio rappers are the powerhouses when it comes to writing, composing, and producing. The 3 are most credited in their discography among the 7 members.
he clearly knows music and hiphop that's why his reaction is like that. bts rapline is literally the best
Enjoy!💜
Btw, although there are still lots of performances with no subtitles, there’s an amazing channel called Enjoy BTS More who is putting up live performance videos with English subs.

Welcome! 💜
Their last concert was in Busan, Korea. The channel Enjoy BTS More has it available with subtitles. I highly recommend it. They even performed Ugh.
That concert would be such a trip for a newcomer 😂

Each and every one of BTS songs are lyrical masterpieces filled with multiple meanings, bars, incredible passion and love for each other, and their fandom, ARMY. Thank you for your videos, high quality content and feedback
No two BTS songs sound the same so don't expect to more tracks like this, BTS knows how to keep it fresh! They have something for everyone which is why their fanbase is in the tens of millions worldwide.

The lyricism of bts goes so hard, they're well-known for how well-written their lyrics are!! i defintely recommend watching more of the bts rapline

I think you really enjoy their cyphers and their song Tear. highly recommend
This ☝️
Exactly! There's LEVELS to their lyrics.
@@tingtingboll ruclips.net/video/Cq3nGiu0_gI/видео.html
They also did it during the Yet to Come Concert in October 2022!! Most recent performance of UGH!
Actually I think DKDK referenced these lyrics🤷♀️
I'll wait for them to return healthy and safely to make the music and concerts they love to do 💜
Save what money, I'm broke from AgustD tickets, photofolio merch, and don't ask how much I spent on Wootteo 😭😭😭😭💜💜💜🤣🤣🤣
Outro TEARS is a must! The lyrics first and the live performance 🔥
I never listened or liked rap but bts made that change lol
Due to having background of street dancing, JHOPE has excellent beat sense. He glides and bends the beat
His music is exactly like how he dances.
Check out the Cyphers or Daechwita off Suga’s solo album and if you can their live performances really are next level to see.
j-hope's verse in "UGH!" is my absolute FAVORITE rapline verse. Thank you for appreciating this crazy talent!
