You need alkosh for non-arcanists to reach pen cap in a typical 6 medium 1 light setup. He's in a semi-DD setup for that boss, running some medium armor, weapon damage enchants and a berserker backbar, so it's pretty easy to reach the 6k alkosh cap. Alkosh also has much better damage stats than Crimson.
I do tab target a lot, especially on fights where I have to play in close proximity to the main boss, as even looking away from the boss to taunt adds it can go to the boss. It's a pretty useful skill to have, also because relying on LOS alone to taunt things sometimes causes mispositioning. For instance, if the 2nd mini on Oax spawned behind Oax and you moved to the side to gain a line-of-sight taunt on it, it could risk moving the 1st mini slightly outside of some DOTs, or even into Oax - which would enrage him.

Hey. Why did you choose alkosh over Crimson on that boss on the MT? And how easy is it for him to reach the max weapon and spell dmg?
