If you are flying a monohull trimmed up going pretty fast when you chop the throttle it sets down real hard and if you were steering into the torque of the prop then it will hook on you if you aren't ready. Some guys recommend trimming down before backing off the throttle, or just easing off really gently if you can. It feels pretty sketchy on my boat and I'm only doing 55 mph!
just climbing up high on the keel around 100 just balancing it there up to 116 it doesnt chine walk but when you cut the throttle the keel drops in the water it gets to be a handful...you better be hanging on!!! lol!!
Drag boats need to come out of the throttle slowly. Bow could come down while leaning to one side and hook left or right. Throw you into the side of the boat then out. That was a little dangerous. But still fun to watch.
An old man's skin over a young man's spirit. But why the old man driving? I don't like the way he was holding the steering and looking nearly like he's struggling. He should've been holding it at the bottom so if loses balance he won't accidently turn, like that throttle shlt at the end
Trust me not coming off the throttle quick..just barely backing off on a boat going that fast is like pulling a shute your overcoming so much resistance at that speed
Awesome. We used to try to run you in our 24 ft Advantage with a Whipplecharged 502 down at Alum Creek at that shootout. We only ran mid to upper 80s, so we of course lost that fight! Always admired your Checkmate with the white/blue combo.
