I remember Livewire from Superman:TAS. Her origin story was very different in the series where she gave bad comments about Superman and later got her powers from a lightning bolt mixed with Superman's powers when he tried to save her from being electrocuted!
@Elie C Because she has the history and legacy that is curiously interesting. She may not be super-powered or even costumed, but like other civilian big names DC Comics, I wouldn't call her inclusion ridiculous. This is Comic Origins after all and I think it isn't all focused on just super beings.
I believe Livewire is not just has the ability to control electricity. But She has this kind of magical powers in which she can transform herself as an energy life force to travel through electric pipes and electric wires. Also she can fly.. she's like a Electric Mage for me..
1. She really had no reason to hate Superman. Even before losing her job. 2. Superman is not the reason she lost her job. It’s unfortunate the station decided to make a change, but it had nothing to do with him. 3. She sounds like a spoiled brat who’s just trying to be edgy. It’s her fault all this happened, so I have no sympathy for her.
She lost her job because Superman saved some guy’s wife and that guy happened to be head of the radio station so he fired her because he would look bad if she kept bashing Superman on his radio station
She’s nothing more than a troll who had a radio station job dedicated to bashing someone then after she got fired she got powers and decided to take action instead of just talking bad about Superman
In a more capable writer's hands, I feel like they could actually explore this aspect of Leslie Willis a lot more... Maybe she's like J. J. Jameson in that her hatred for Superman is at first played for laughs but then is actually revealed to be born out of some personal tradgedy. Or maybe she's a rebellious punk who just likes to "go against the flow" a lot so she just bashes Superman with not so founded criticism for no other reason than troll him for "the LoL's" and the reason she's such a punk is because she lived in a "doorless house" with helicopter parents, or maybe she used to work for the Daily Planet once but then quit to become a rock star when she found that their takes on Superman were becoming a little too biased, then one day (after nearly being assaulted by a crazy fan) she become the test subject of this femenist scientist's experiement to make women "assault proof" by giving them tazer powers, but then her's goes wrong when a thunderstorm hits her.
@@acemarvel1564 Personally, I want to respect feminists, but they have a nasty habit of targeting actually good men and leaving alone the bad ones, if not rewarding them. The fact that she bashes Superman instead of Luthor is a good example. Sure, he has this image that most people don't see through, but if feminism is supposed to be anti-capitalist, Luthor's head should reasonably be on live wire's chopping block. Not the guy who literally saves people without asking for anything in return. If she was bashing Luthor, and Superman just got in the way, I can see her being written better. But because her issue is with a man who only does good, she is a total idiot. And because the feminist label is often attached to idiots like Live Wire, who act like spoiled brats, often times they take on the label intentionally, I do not respect feminism. Superman doesn't talk politics, bash anyone, or take sides. He just does good for anyone who needs it. Even Bruce Wayne follows this same train of thought. When that gambling casino had the Joker's face, Bruce just said "No Comment." I mean, those two words expressed enough of his feelings, but he didn't verbally attack the joker.
For some reason this version of Livewire reminds me of the movie Carrie. Also Leslie's origin story doesn't make sense basically she is a Meta Human who goes postal over losing her job.
I can't stand the character of Lois Lane, I know I'm in the minority but she's just a plot device and constant damsel in distress. I wish her character would go the way she did in Injustice, I like to see Superman evolved pass a knight for lois
@@crusher5599 Why does this person’s opinion on Lois, makes them an SJW? I mean yeah this had nothing to do with Livewire, but your comment doesn’t really make any sense...
The next Superman film really should have her in it. We need more variety for Superman in film. He’s only ever had Lex, Zod and a bastardized Bizarro. Aubrey Plaza would be perfect for a film adaption of Livewire.
Livewire was my favorite she was so awesome and on the TV show as well this chick was nothing to play with love her wisecrack persona and her her 80s voice
Honestly one of my favorite new channels. Origin stories are so important especially now where comic books aren’t idolized, and people would rather watch movies. But on a more serious note... the rock music in the video is from...?
This super incredible great and super amazing video. Keep more great videos. This video get two tumb up😊😊😊❤❤❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥😎👍👍. Livewire and superman and super girl and lot other characters are my favorite characters. I know more about livewire.
So Leslie's brother being an insane serial killer with a crush on Lois Lane is no longer canon? Good, I didn't like that at all. Gail Simone made her needlessly complicated.
Dude, great video, but, I watch these at work and the volume difference between your voice and the random transition music is too much. I turn my volume up to hear you speak, but the music is too loud
This is why I never viewed a lot of DC stuff. Batman was always the Alpha Male, but Supes was either slow-witted or (in this case) nerfed. For decades electricity did noting to him, but get lazy writers on board and PRESTO now he is.
Livewire obviously not just because she fights superman, but because She could drain electro dry, to the point where even the synapses in his brain couldn't fire any more and she's also more creative and efficient at using her powers last but not least Livewire is made of electricity while electro is still flesh and blood.
What a selfish hypocrite of a diva, she doesn’t care about the life of the radio stations manager’s wife he’s just saved, or the lives of the around her she’s causing havoc to, all she cares about is loosing her status and job on the radio to spew venomous slander that’s not true about Superman, and even blames him for something she did to herself essentially. Any person who trashes someone who puts his life on the line everyday to help others and is filled with disdain for him because of it, is nothing but the lowest of scum in my opinion and deserve to get their teeth kicked in for it! Oohhhh Damn the people of Metropolis just pulled a Sam Rami Spider-Man Green Goblin moment on Live-wire did not see that coming, it’s lucky that Superman managed to save the train and get back to her quickly, as I don’t think it would of been beneath Live-wire to kill the crowd of people who were standing up for Superman. Glad to see their is Justice in the comic book world.
LIVEWIRE:Pure Energy While trying to take control 🛂 of Metropolis's power system, blogger Leslie Willis is accidentally transformed into LIVEWIRE, a being of pure electricity 🔌. She embarks on a new 🆕 career as a supervillain. Even Superman has trouble stopping her before Batman lends a hand 🧤 by devising an energy trap. Probably she had an Ego problem with people being heroic and she hated it
Great to see more origins. As for origins I'd be interested to see:
1. Dr. Psycho
2. Silver Swan
3. Lois Lane
4. Copperhead
5. Wildcat
6. Toyman
I second this list
, especially Wildcat.

Livewire needs to be seen A LOT more!
The next character I wanna see is Hawkgirl
Me too💕
It's great that they kept her shock jock occupation when they did her origin for the comics

She can literally turn into electricity that’s how she can move through power lines
Man, seeing clips of Superman TAS made me remember Metallo, Parasite, and Bizzaro.
Can you do their origin's as well?
Yes I am planning to get to these characters eventually!
@@ComicOrigins You definitely have too … And Iike the ones that’s out
Ideas for next origins:
Power Girl
Batgirl (Barbara Gordon)
Anti-Monitor
Grail (Darkseids daughter)

If he does do Batgirl, can he take Barbara’s origin from Batgirl #0?

Didnt she get her powers from lighting and a kryptonian touch
At least in the DCAU canon; this version of Livewire's orgin touches on the comics when she was introduced in the main DCU canon.
Great job

atom smasher,
giganta,
ocean master,
Orion

Her backstory is actually a lot different to one that is in Superman the animated series.
Could you do Black Lightning or Static's origin?
She's lucky she's fighting modern Superman. Golden or Silver Age Superman wouldn't even feel a tickle from her.
Exactly the kind of electricity powers I wanted to have
Except for the weakness to water
