Thank you for this guide! I used to be on slow-release capsules with two compartments (one of them dissolving and acting in about 30 minutes and the other in 4 hours) but my metabolism is so fast that I literally used to go through the entire first dose of the pill and had a 30 minute crash before the second half activated. Now I’m on fast-release pills and feel better throughout the day.

Taking both works well for me..
I take the slow release as i wake up in the morning, the fast release between 12-2pm

Thanks for the clinical pearls, Dr. Wood!
(I take Concerta 108 mg/d and Ritalin 10 mg/d. This regimen is amazing. I love it.)

Thanks Dr. Aly, I am going to get tested for ADHD. I believe I have been living with some level of executive function disorder. I also take Fluoxetine and Buspirone. Could something like Vyvanse or Strattera be taken with these?

Yes. But, forget Strattera. I tried it for 5 months and it did absolutely nothing for my adhd.

Yes, psychiatrists go to medical school and complete a residency program dedicated towards psychiatry.
