Hey Phil, as a rider and member of the medical community, I did a couple videos about riding and the cornavirus. Please allow me to reiterate what you are saying from a healthcare point of view. (BTW we decided to change our RUclips name to match our platform, We are no longer the knights who say "Old Men on MTB's) ruclips.net/video/_2nQWRp4OIk/видео.html
Rock Solid MTB great vid I respect your opinion! My wife spent 9 days in ICU with Covid! After seeing her after 4 weeks of isolation... she told me to go get a ride in because I had to care for for 2 weeks were all she came home to was a bathroom and bedroom... sliding food under a curtain constantly because she was finally eating better and constantly disinfecting cleaning etc! While on my ride I look at this long elevated skinny and said “today is not the day” and road by it knowing in my head I can do it but anything can happened and it’s not a good choice in these times!
Your advice on being careful with riding is so spot on. We shouldn't do anything that is too risky but riding is a great way to get out and clear our heads at this time so playing it a little on the safer side would be the most responsible way to do this. I've noticed people have been pretty good and respectful at my local trails.
One thing I will note, is that I did talk to a local ER doc who mentioned that ERs locally are actually less busy than ever, which should be a good thing, but since hospitals in the US are a for profit business many doctors are getting furloughed as a result. Either way, it's probably for the best if we continue to dial back the send factor for a bit. :) Edit: I Pinned a comment from somebody who works in the medical field and who shared their perspective.
@@SkillsWithPhil Yea I totally agree, appreciate you bringing that to light on your channel. It's important for people to hear from people in the sport
Hi Skills With Phil, I discovered your channel about a week ago and since then I've been Bingeing With Phil!!! I'm a noob to the MTB world thanks to the current situation and have discovered a whole new world within 10km (that's like half a mile or something..... I dunno I'm Australian). Anyway, turns out there's a free MTB park like 2km (there's that metric again) away from my house that I never knew about and I just wanted to thank you for equipping me with the testicular fortitude to even attempt a trail. It feels great to have so much freedom in this time of quarantine and distancing! Cheers Phil!! Congrats on getting married!!!
Hey Phil, congrats to you both on the wedding. Hopefully things calm down soon so the parks can open back up again. Can't wait to see more videos. Keep up the great work.
So good seeing you back on the Tube champ. Allot of my buddies here in Aus say I’m the Aussie version of You, “IN THOUGHT NOT SKILLS” always looking at the tech stuff thats of to the side of the trail that no one sees and by creating new lines n gaps and therefor id like to remind you of just how much of a treat your in for going 29”... Ive ridden both and from a tech stand point I can do more and do it smoother on my 29”. Just remember that a 29” only comes to life if you trust it and ride it hard which we all know you wont have ANY issues in doing, cant wait to hear your feedback and opinions on the 29”...... And congrats to the 2 of you getting married, Hayley is a keeper and riding partner for life 👍
I also picked up those Onyx hubs. I love absolute silence on the bike. Bring able to hear the trails and hearing how the bike behaves is a whole different experience. Also zero drag while coasting, it picks up terrifying speed, and instant engagement. Love it!
Hi Phil, I'm new to the channel. I found you from Seth's Bike hacks. I really appreciate your videos as I am just getting into Mountain Biking. My new helmet arrives today and I am hoping to finally get on some beginner trails. Congrats to you and Hailey (spelling?). You two make a GREAT couple! Be safe and take care!
Stoked to hear youre skating again! I actually got into longboarding/skateboarding since quarantine started. Downhill longboarding might be right up your alley too....
Heeeeey!!! Congratulations, brother! Congratulations, Hayley ( hopefully I spelled your name right 😁😁) ! I'm really happy for you, guys! Good luck with new sponsors and all.
Congratulations you two! Hailey seems like such a sweetheart (from what I see on your channel), so you did good Phil. Seems like y'all are doing pretty good overall. Good news during these interesting times. Always great to see your face, and keep up the good work. Cheers!
You can come Snowboard and mountain bike in Oregon this summer!!! TImberline is open all year (if they reopen). Great mountain bike trails in Oakridge.
Hey Phil, we love your videos! For that bark removal, try getting a draw knife. You can get them for cheap at flee markets and secondhand stores. It will take you way less time and will be easier on your hands and back.
I was removing more than just bark, I sawed 1-2 inches into the actual tree. That being said, I have been looking at those, but for obvious reasons, shopping isn’t the smartest idea so I’m using what I have. :)
Phil I like your input and your speech and the way you do your eyes as you talk. Super. You are a hell of a rider. Keep up the videos and you are an inspiration. Be careful out there! Congratulations on your marriage also. You need to get Seth to help you. He has all the power equipment!
Aside from the cool skinny that you made with the small hand saw and a shovel, kudos for that, can I just extend my congratulations to you and Hailey for your recent wedding. Stoked for you guys. 🥂
I am so jealous! We have three small parks around my house, one right outside my front gate.. and yet, we are not allowed to ride out of our properties. It's really frustrating. On a lighter note, my track stands are improving and my kids are progressing really well considering the space we have to work with.
Wow, not sure how/why I clicked on the video but glad I did the content/story was good, music was relaxing, so with that said new subscriber here. Great video brother. Keep them coming... P.S congratulations on getting married.
Phil, thanks for the new video. Well done making a skinny with what nature gave you. Congrates on getting married. Whoo hoo. I bought one of the new shirts and it rocks. I can wear this one, and my original one that you signed on NEMBAFest a coupe of years ago has been retired since then. All the best to you both!! Stay safe!
bought myself the second cheapest new comp trials bike I could find. I could not think now of a better way I could have spent that money. I freaking love it, and that was half a year ago. Now I have something to do in lockdown, and the skills I have on it will translate to the trail so well especially on really tech stuff. If this question ever arises, I say DO IT!
Hey Phil!! You one the best rider i know🙌 thanks for being an inspiration, i started practicing my wheelie when i saw your video doing a wheelie!!! Stay safe🙏
I have that same handsaw. Used it to cut trees off the trails. They couldn’t be made into an additional feature so they had to be removed. Took a while.
New sub, love your channel!!! What’s your opinion on the GT Aggressor Pro for a intermediate rider? I would be using it for basic trail riding, and intermediate trails. I also want to do some jumping. I bought a box store bike(yeah I know) just to get back into riding after a few years off, but want something better as my skills progress. Let me know what you think. Thanks!!!
30-40' YES!! exercise turns heavy breathing into aerosol spray all over the people near!! also wear a mask! it sucks but it is the responsible courteous thing to do!! keep the trail open! #spreadthestokenotthecorona great vid Phil! and congrats to you and Hailey!

Hey Phil, I bought my first mountain bike about a year and a half ago and this summer I’m planning to ride at a bike park. I was planning on buying a full suspension bike to upgrade from my current hardtail. What are some good budget full suspension bikes to look for.

Hey Phil,
I just picked up Nobl as a Sponsor and I'm wondering either the 36, 37, 38. Which wheel performs the best for Enduro.
What Smith Helmet is that? I am looking to buy a smith helmet as our mountain bike team is sponsored by them.
I love this new video style, well done
Well congratulations on your wedding 😀👏🤘
Since you're not riding for Fox, would you consider trying other suspension platforms like DVO?
