Not everyone contemplating getting into golf will watch this channel (or any golf channel), however that's where we come in and we will pass this information on. Good honest review and, yes, there needs to be a Lidl/Aldi challenge match. Chris will love it 😂😭🤦
Aldi ! Ben Sayers Irons are not to be knocked. I picked up a box set of M9s in 2012. Jump forward to late 2021 I found the buried in a garage as I play fitted clubs these days. I tipped the driver, 3W , 5W 1 inch to take flex out. I get 240 yards out of the driver on every drive, the 3w is 200-220 yards but straight, 5 wood ( 190-210 yards is 21degree so really a 7wood. So 180-200 yards, and the hybrid 185 yards every time. Now my winter set, with texan Classic wedges all play great 👍👍
Aldi!! Great info. Thanks James! For someone just getting into golf, it's worth knowing how good the 'cheap' clubs perform and hold up against the big ££
ALDI, love these for my son-inlaw, wants to start golf but worried if he buys clubs and dosent get on with golf then Ill passs on to my grandson and think he will enjoy golf as well.👍
Great way you show the whole range of products from top price to budget. Just started to play so this would be a great set for me, as using some 20 year old Donnay cluds
ALDI - informative Video James glad I came across it off to watch some more. Came across this as was looking for a cheaper set so I could play a family game with the boy.
Got a ladies set for my wife as she wanted to give it a got, but not sure if she would like it and yes they are perfect for getting people on the golf course, she played with them for 18 months and now has a set of pings 👍, great honest review again from you 👏, too many you tubers that are good golfers just ripping into these type of sets when there not directed for them
Wanted to add, thank you for the high quality video. Smooth, vibrant, well edited. Million times better than gm golf, which makes me dizzy trying to watch. Thank you for caring about viewer experience!
Wo, that brings back memories. I started out with a set of Aldi clubs, and a pair of Lidl golf shoes in 2003. Replaced the driver after one year, the 3-wood & 5-wood (hybrids were just starting to be known at the time) the year after. And replaced my irons in 2006. I got fitted for a new set in 2010, when I finally replaced my Aldi putter; I loved that putter, but I bent the shaft badly, when I dropped my golfbag once.
Love the honest review! wish I had had these back when I started 😅 Also they have a striking resemblance to the older callaway budget big Bertha driver and irons 🤔 solid set for beginners!
Kinda a brand name.....Ben Sayers were the first clubs I got as a kid direct from the factory in North Berwick and I loved my wee half set.... Good times
Aldi! Always really interesting seeing how these budget sets go - not sure anything can help my game at the moment though!!! 149 quid is really impressively cheap - if you need to buy a semi decent driver on top then you’re still in pocket!!
i have found im my own research. that irons tend to be clubs that are difficult to really screw up on. put a solid steel shaft. to give solid enough stability for all except bryson dechambeau type. and follow offset and loft standards and it can be solid even cheap.....woods and wedges and putters tend to be the "fun" areas. is that a fair thought?
I appreciate your honesty when reviewing clubs. Too many would not say anything positive about a budget set like these because they are so beholden to the major manufacturers. Good work James.
The Big Name manufacturers do a great job marketing!!! A good golfer would still play well with budget clubs! The only true difference would be with professional golfers, Definitely Not us Amateurs!!!
Please review the ram fx77 iron set. They might be the poorest man’s p790. They seem to have all the modern tech and even cheaper than takomo 100’s and just as slick looking. Cheap golf for all???
Package sets are great if you are just getting started or only play 5-10 rounds a year. The Irons with steel shafts are typically solid. The woods are usually the letdown. The metal in woods is some type of alloy mix that is super cheap and the shafts are absolute garbage.
ALDI Ben sayers where ways a good set of clubs for a beginner and these look like they would do great for anyone looking to start out in the great frustration game of golf
Seems like a good set of clubs. The irons seem great, but the woods.....well.......you don't use them every hole so they're not as important. At that price, very good value for money
My mate just gifted me some Ben sayers Mx7 , for a complete beginner they are perfect. Loads of forgiveness and doesn’t matter if they just end up in the garage 😊
My first golf clubs was a half set of Ben Sayers blades, fifty odd years ago. There was no Aldi then of course so my dad had to cough up a weeks wages just to please me. Wish I had kept them just for old times sake!
Aldi! Amazing that you can get a set of clubs and a bag at that price. Perfect for the beginning golfer. At that price who cares if they’re durable. But if they attract someone new to golf, that’s a win.
ALDI!!! I love Aldi too, shop there every week. I'd gift these to a friend that's just getting into golf. So far he's got a £10 set off Facebook that's about 20 years old
Aldi - the irons look like something callaway might create although the top line is not like anything callaway would market as its too thin. The shafts in the irons are probably for a better player easy to manipulate, slower swing etc. The wood shafts are probably so whippy not even a slow swing could sort them out. However in saying these two things, for someone new to our great sport you probably can't beat em. £150 with a stand bag and putter. Ben Sayers used to be a good brand years ago when I started playing so this manufacturer is not new. Well done Aldi nice price and for a beginner great clubs
Great video. I’m a beginner looking to buy some matching clubs for that won’t break the bank. Would never thought to try Aldi. Was going to go for second hand but now maybe don’t have to. Cheers
Aldi I agree with Andy there needs to be a challenge match between all the aldi, lidl,Costco and decathlon to see who is selling the best clubs to get people into golf. When I renewed my irons I gave them to a workmate to get him started in golf and he is looking to do the same when he gets his new fitted irons, sometimes people are put off by the initial cost of golf and then don't try it. Thus missing out on all the highs and lows that come with it.
Aldi…. Always surprises with some of its special buys, nice to see that they have thought about this and not just chucked any old rubbish out there for people to buy. Great review James, plain and simple, say it as you see it.
Realistically a decent pro like yourself James should be able to still put a decent swing on any kinda golf club, whereas thats not the ssme for us weekend golfers
Hmm.....the wedge averaged 99 yards and the 8-iron averaged 163 yards. A huge gap there!! A good looking set overall but the weakness is in figuring out how to hit those "in-between" yardages - something a beginning golfer will struggle to do. I think it is better to buy a used set with more clubs in the bag.
Aldi .these clubs would suit anyone like me who plays a few times a year just for the social side. Great video as usual James and great to see Laura enjoying her time on the course.
I started with the full set of these and can recommend them as well. The driver is easily the weakest part (it's a tin can on a stick), but otherwise I didn't have too many complaints. I've since replaced everything but the putter, and I haven't actually started playing any better than I was with these clubs. I had the graphite shafts throughout, and they definitely felt very hard to control on the longer irons too. Great set to start with, with a proviso that the driver might need replacing pretty quickly (with literally anything else).
Aldi . well in this cash short climate for anyone starting golf or moving up from some 20 old starter set this is an absolute must, 8 clubs, 3 headcovers and a bag that's less than £15 a club. it hits the right sport in the market at this moment in time.
Aldi Companies offering entry level sets for affordable prices are to be praised. After all, the more new people that can be attracted to golf, the better. Great video as ever, and a decent and honest test. Good stuff.
Aldi - My best mate's just decided to take up golf at the ripe old age of 56 so he'd really love these to get him started. I've got a Calloway Big Bertha going spare for him if the driver isn't up to the job 😂
Amazed these clubs performed so well for that low price. These would be good for anyone thinking of taking up the game. If I won them I would give them to my grandson.
That beginners set knocks spots off the Donnay set I started with 22 years ago. Still it is great to see you can play golf with Value clubs to get your handicap down to Scratch😂😂😂
Not everyone contemplating getting into golf will watch this channel (or any golf channel), however that's where we come in and we will pass this information on. Good honest review and, yes, there needs to be a Lidl/Aldi challenge match. Chris will love it 😂😭🤦
Aldi. Absolutely amazing. Shows that any clubs in the right hands can be made to do the job. Bravo Ben Sayers for golf beginners
Aldi ! Ben Sayers Irons are not to be knocked. I picked up a box set of M9s in 2012. Jump forward to late 2021 I found the buried in a garage as I play fitted clubs these days.

I've just bought these for £49 in the Black Friday Sale. I can't wait to try them out when the weather gets better. Thanks for the review!
Same let me know 😮😮
Three friends of mine that are in there 20's are just starting golf this year for the first time. It's fun seeing the progress
ALDI - informative Video James glad I came across it off to watch some more. Came across this as was looking for a cheaper set so I could play a family game with the boy.

I would say, perfect for someone who has an outing at work and just wants to take part and give it a go!!
Wanted to add, thank you for the high quality video. Smooth, vibrant, well edited. Million times better than gm golf, which makes me dizzy trying to watch. Thank you for caring about viewer experience!
Love the channel…… keep up the great work!!
Great review james looking for a set for my young lad he is only starting to play we will have a look at these...thank you so much
Wo, that brings back memories.

I got fitted for a new set in 2010, when I finally replaced my Aldi putter; I loved that putter, but I bent the shaft badly, when I dropped my golfbag once.
I had a Ben sayer set when I started golf again back in 2019, one of the best sets I had own!
Love the honest review! wish I had had these back when I started 😅
Also they have a striking resemblance to the older callaway budget big Bertha driver and irons 🤔 solid set for beginners!
Kinda a brand name.....Ben Sayers were the first clubs I got as a kid direct from the factory in North Berwick and I loved my wee half set.... Good times

A pleasant surprise, for the money. Even the driver suddenly sent the ball rocketing down the par 5.
Aldi...an honest and fun review of what sounds like a great bargain set of clubs! Thank you. 😊
Love seeing these videos bring hope to new golfers
i have found im my own research. that irons tend to be clubs that are difficult to really screw up on. put a solid steel shaft. to give solid enough stability for all except bryson dechambeau type. and follow offset and loft standards and it can be solid even cheap.....woods and wedges and putters tend to be the "fun" areas. is that a fair thought?

Aldi!! These would be pretty awesome. I started playing again (using my sisters Clubs) this summer after almost 25years. Addicted to the game again 😁
Hi James. No need to ship to Canada, do you have a junior golf program to donate them to.
Sounds like they are better then my 4 year old purple Strata set. Comparable to Aldi in price. Thanks for sharing!
Superb review James - love these! Would love the Aldi v Lidl comparison! I have a 60 degree Ben Sayers wedge and can say it is great!
Thanks. It only goes to show that one can play good golf with a budget set.
ALDI. These videos are great! Love it when clubs like these get a review as I’m looking for a set for my son that’s showing interest in the game.
A good review with honesty ,for the budget golfer it opens the door to affordability
Please review the ram fx77 iron set. They might be the poorest man’s p790. They seem to have all the modern tech and even cheaper than takomo 100’s and just as slick looking. Cheap golf for all???
Aldi in Leland, NC didn’t have these in stock. 😅
Aldi. Great video. Very very new to golf myself and still trying to decide on my 1st set.
Package sets are great if you are just getting started or only play 5-10 rounds a year. The Irons with steel shafts are typically solid. The woods are usually the letdown. The metal in woods is some type of alloy mix that is super cheap and the shafts are absolute garbage.
Aldi…we have this store in the states but I never have seen golf clubs!
ALDI

My mate just gifted me some Ben sayers Mx7 , for a complete beginner they are perfect. Loads of forgiveness and doesn’t matter if they just end up in the garage 😊
ALSO . Would make an ideal winter set for just getting out and hitting.
My first golf clubs was a half set of Ben Sayers blades, fifty odd years ago. There was no Aldi then of course so my dad had to cough up a weeks wages just to please me. Wish I had kept them just for old times sake!
Outstanding... Budget golf is important to grow the game
Aldi .. well that’s a email to the delivery company.. it’s not great to have that box like that. Well done James and Laura 👍🏻⛳️
Aldi! Amazing that you can get a set of clubs and a bag at that price. Perfect for the beginning golfer. At that price who cares if they’re durable. But if they attract someone new to golf, that’s a win.
Great wee video for someone maybe trying to get into the game with these clubs is a good option
Aldi. Great to see a retailer offering a product at an affordable price for people interested in taking up the game.
Aldi
I've never heard of this brand, but they look like they performed well on the golf course. They would be an upgrade for me. I would love them!
ALDI!!! I love Aldi too, shop there every week. I'd gift these to a friend that's just getting into golf. So far he's got a £10 set off Facebook that's about 20 years old
You should test pinemeadow golf clubs. They have different varieties of full sets irons and woods drivers and wedges. You'd be the first I've seen.
Why can I never find these clubs in my Aldi or Lidle store? I cannot even find some of the golf balls in those stores, that have been featured.
Aldi - the irons look like something callaway might create although the top line is not like anything callaway would market as its too thin. Great review James! Between this Adli set and the Inesis 100 set, which one would you choose?
Oooooo great shout… hmmm might be a video there
Great video. I’m a beginner looking to buy some matching clubs for that won’t break the bank. Would never thought to try Aldi. Was going to go for second hand but now maybe don’t have to. Cheers
Those irons are so good for you they should go in the bag.
Love the honest review James “Aldi” would be ideal for my son as he has outgrown his juniors
Aldi

Getting into golf with a $5 cash converters set, these would go so much better
Thanks. Great value for money.
@3:23 why flick the tee back onto the teebox?
Aldi…. Always surprises with some of its special buys, nice to see that they have thought about this and not just chucked any old rubbish out there for people to buy.
Great review James, plain and simple, say it as you see it.
Aldi supplies quite a range of golf equipment, what would be the price at other shops of this set.Good video James.
Aldi. Love your channel. The only thing I buy at Aldi is food. Wonder if these will make it to the states
Realistically a decent pro like yourself James should be able to still put a decent swing on any kinda golf club, whereas thats not the ssme for us weekend golfers

I would love these clubs to start playing golf!!
Aldi. What a great starter set up. Not to convinced about the woods.
Aldi. My wife and I absolutely love Aldi’s. The AOS is our hangout spot lol
Aldi - good for a travelling set! Thanks James.
ALDI.... always like your reviews James. Not everyone is interested in the lastest irons for £1k plus. Keep reviewing the more economical sets.
I started with the full set of these and can recommend them as well. The driver is easily the weakest part (it's a tin can on a stick), but otherwise I didn't have too many complaints. Aldi. Well that was a surprisingly good outcome, I certainly didn't expect that...
ALDI how much will the set cost to post to the Philippines?
Aldi, I have seen lots of budget clubs. But you never know what you are going to get...so this is awesome!
Aldi. Love the channel keep up the good work. I have just started playing golf and have got addicted to it just from watching your videos
Aldi!
Much love for your videos from Canada!
Always enjoyable watching you test golf clubs James, whether they are a top brand or a budget brand you always give an honest and fair opinion
Aldi, Great Video as always, would be perfect for my dad who has just started to play golf with me
Aldi, great starter set especially with the bag
Aldi

Great video as ever, and a decent and honest test. Good stuff.
Aldi - My best mate's just decided to take up golf at the ripe old age of 56 so he'd really love these to get him started. I've got a Calloway Big Bertha going spare for him if the driver isn't up to the job 😂
Aldi
Excellent honest review James. They look incredible foe the money! Really like the look of the hybrid.
Amazed these clubs performed so well for that low price. These would be good for anyone thinking of taking up the game. If I won them I would give them to my grandson.
Shot tracer looked like the TSR Was shorter
That beginners set knocks spots off the Donnay set I started with 22 years ago. Still it is great to see you can play golf with Value clubs to get your handicap down to Scratch😂😂😂
Aldi! Perfect for my brother who’s just starting ❤
Lidl/Aldi/Costco/JD Sports head to head challenge? I think they all do some sort of starter set.
Aldi - great to see videos with reviews of budget clubs instead of just all the high end stuff 👍🏻
Aldi. These would be perfect for getting my son into golf.
Aldi - love it! Thanks James!
I think the fact you are a skilled player makes a difference. Yes those clubs are a great value!😊
Could you put those sticky lead weights on the driver to improve the performance.
So James what is the best half set package set?
Do they have the set in left handed? Great video 😅
Never been there but there is and Aldi nearby..
Aldi is one of my favorite stores in my home town. Great video!
Aldi. Another great review and video. Great job James
Aldi... I've just booked my first lesson of golf for me and my son. Looking forward new hobby.
Aldi - golf for all! good content and for a starter for 10 for newbies to the world of golf 5 stars
