Yaayyy I've been looking for more type 4 hair textures to get this done! I'm doing mine in 2 weeks. IM DOING IT MYSELF 😨 wish me luck yolo might film the process 💛💛
Mostly asian country called it rebonding and it has been in the market over 20 years because I have been doing for 20 years. Of course over the years the formula getting better protecting your hair. Please don't be fool when they say permanent straight. Yes it permanently straighten your hair but not the new growth. It depending on how fast your new growth grow. Some need to retouch every 3 months & some every 6 months. After few going to the salon to do this, almost 15 years I do it myself. But you need to experience with the salon and see how they do it, how the do the knot test. Do it yourself need you to have good flat iron, not the cheap one. And you need to maintain your hair like always conditioner, serum, hair mask. So far i didn't loose many hair nor I have bald patch. In Asia (I live in Malaysia) relaxer doesn't require flat iron. Rebonding require flat iron. That's the difference as far as I know. Rebonding very famous in my country for many many years.
Correct it’s permanent to the hair you already have and not new growth seeing it can’t change your follicle from within! Thank you for sharing your experience! 🤍
It’s flowing . It looks shiny and healthy. What did you look for when you were researching a stylist? Also please do an update in a few months. I’m a little skeptical about anything that says permanent.
@@TatanyatheTinker it is not a perm, not necessarily because it’s process is done in a completely different fashion. Perms also make your hair curly, relaxers make your hair straight and are a one single process. I’ll be making an update soon.
@@abriyahyasha-rahla2656 please keep in mind relaxers are not meant to make your hair permanently straight. This is, but with JHS you can make it semi-curly as well, but this is meant to make your hair pin straight.
Your stylist is a sweetheart just like you. Thanks for these videos, I really needed to see this! I’ve been wanting to get this done for YEARS, but I wanted to hear about people’s experiences before deciding. 💜
Can u get wavy hair with this treatment? I have type 3c/4a/4b hair and I want it to be around 2b. Can I achieve that with this treatment? Like make it straighter than what it already is but not bone straight??
I have an important question. I have been atural for ages and I cannot deal with detangling my hair for 3 hours anymore. LOL, how do you find places that do this japanese straightening?
I actually downloaded Yelp and just searched “Japanese hair straightening” and it showed me some places that offer the treatment near me. I think price sort of depends on the place but it ranges anywhere from $250-$600 or more. I’m middle eastern with short hair and can’t deal with styling it every day. :(
I should also add that you should make sure to check the reviews to make sure the salon you’re looking at is safe and has experienced stylists. :) They should offer to give you a consultation to see how well your hair can handle the treatment. If they don’t, maybe try asking for one so you don’t ruin your beautiful hair!
Hey girl this salon is using the same product that I was using at the salon in Japan! I have done 1000 of clients hair with this brand!! It’s amazing products!! I also loved shampoo and conditioner💕 And man, she did great job doing your hair!!
FIND a JAPANESE STYLIST in a near major city./I wouldn't go back to her/I was taught NEVER Brush WET HAIR. It stretches the Hair strand and when it dries it CRIMPS... ALSO, Her flat ironing technique was CRIMPING THE HAIR.. I CRINGED JUST WATCHING HER DO YOUR HAIR.
If you are a kinky natural and do this, I HIGHLY recommend you do a seek and destroy mission on single strand knots (ssk)!! Just cut them out, even if they are high up on the hair strand. Your hair will grow out so fast, so dont worry. Ssk damage the strand and rub against hair around it. Once ALL of the ssk are out of your hair the comb glides through completely easy and your hair basically doesnt tangle. It's amazing!
I ain't gonna lie. I wanted to hate since I'm natural and I felt that is a chemical process that will damage your hair but the finish product looks so good. What is the maintenance like? In about how long will you go for retouching?
Right after you get it, you shouldn't crease it or wet it at all the first 3 days I think, and no heat during the first 10-14 days. After that it's fine. Double check a website that specializes in it.
Nope. It won't curl even if you rolled it with heat roller because the lotion formula is straightener lotion. I've tried it before thinking it will stay as slight curl. It doesn't.
Yes, that’s called the “Gina Curl” just DONT FLAT IRON after you rinse the creme out. Let the rinsed hair set on perm rods. Lightly pass the dryer over on low setting to dry it out on the perms rods. Neutralize. Remove rods, Rinse. That’s how Gina Rivera does her “Gina Curl”
Yes you can that technique is called a Gina Curl. She puts the thio perm on then rods the hair sets it under a very hot dryer until completely dry puts a liquid neutralizer on it then rinses. Same no washing for three days only difference is in aftercare you want to avoid shampoo/conditioners and products with proteins. Also don’t sleep with wet hair and only use curl cremes and leave ins no gels mousse etc.
I've been doing it for 20 years. Started when i was 26 & now I'm 46. I have very thin hair and many says that my hair gonna break or i will lost a lot of hair. But for 20 years, my hair still intact. Never had any bald patch. I don't even have grey hair yet ( i don't dye my hair). I will do this every 6 months because it wasn't curly like on the video. Just messy waves that make my hair look like a lion. Eventhou now I have short hair i still rebonding it (that's what asian country call it) and manage to have fringe. Main thing after you doing it you meed to take care of your hair like how you take care on your skin. Always use conditioner, serum, hair mask. Don't blow dry your hair too often. If you need it then set the heat to low. My hair never dry after doing this. Now days the formula protect the hair very well. Btw, i did myself at home after few years going to salon. You some how pick up the trick to test your hair and just follow the instruction on the lotion & neutraliser packages.
So pretty! How do you handle the new growth? Is this method safer than regular perms that caused reproductive health problems and thinning hair and scalp damage?
All the women I've known with relaxers have given birth. This is propaganda. I suggest you google the counter arguments. Japanese straighteners are similar to standard relaxers. The difference is it closes the hair follicle after the straightening process. Korean straighteners are also similar to their ancestry, the standard relaxer. They are a bit safer due to how they deal with hair follicles. The reason they all work so well on afro hair is because a lot of asians have 3 and 4 hair types, we just almost never see them with their curls.
@@chillbeauty7989 Thank you for the information. I will consider getting this. I don't know about any propaganda, I am cautious about all non-natural chemicals applied to the body. I have learned to ask first, be informed before doing. Again, your input is much appreciated. I hope that you have an unexpected delight today, something just for you!
Haha yes! It will not revert, this is now my hairs permanent state! It DOES have volume, it regains some of that but it looks air dryers. This is better than relaxers cause cream can go into your scalp unlike relaxers it burns your scalp we call in rebonding treatment and it is permanent straight but bad thing is if your hair growfast need touch ups and only in west it's pricy for Asia aleast 20 to 70 dollars depends on the length of the hair.
