Total beginner, I don’t even draw! I don’t know why I think I can do this , but I have been so attracted to watercolor painting. I have got my supplies and have checked out every book in my library, and have just discovered RUclips tutorials. Your videos are very informative and I love that you leave your mistakes in there! Those are just as important to see.
I really am having a blast with these lessons. Sometimes I do one lesson over a couple of different days, trying different colors and different brushes. I'm learning a lot!
Your tutorials have been incredibly helpful! I picked up watercolor as an absolute beginner at the start of quarantine, but I got real frustrated with it real quick. Getting back into it now, you've helped me answer questions that have vexed me for ages. Thank you!
Intermediate painter but one can always use a refresher. Plus I find Some new information on techniques /watercolour brands/paper type & brushes. I always like trying new materials. You're doing a wonderful courteous for beginner watercolourist because when I started out, I was very confused. See you in the next video 🙂
Thanks Joan! So happy you like my tutorials, even the beginner ones. I too always like to try new materials and supplies, it's very fun to! Thanks for watching!
You are great! I learn myself and searching some good people who want to share your knowledge with other people for free... And find you ☺️ You do a excellent work! Teach professional, with patient and understanding for totally begginers 😄 So thank you for what you do. Thanks to you I can learn painting my favorite style ☺️
Thank you very much for your videos and in particulary beginner or intermediate videos. I m a french beginner and there is not many things in french ! So i discovered your beautiful paintings. Moreover your english is very simple to understand. Not to much accent and not too speed 😁. And i found the neptune brushes and colors on Amazon France. I m so happy ! 🎊I will do your 10 days challenge with birds and butterflies. Such a good idea ! So one more time thank you to share !xxx😘
Hi Carole! I just saw your goldfinch from the bird challenge and it is gorgeous! I'm glad you're enjoying my tutorials and find them helpful! I'm looking forward to seeing more of your artwork 😊
I'm glad you find my tutorials helpful! You can untape your paper as soon as it's somewhat dry. You won't want to if it's still really wet. Hope that helps!
Thank you so much for these beginner tutorials! Watercolor has been a scary medium for me in the past. I'm more comfortable and experienced in things like oil, acrylic, charcoal and colored pencil. I've started with your first lesson and am practicing everything along with the videos. : ) I appreciate the work you've put in to make these, very much. Simple and understandable down to the very basics. I will probably need to invest in the brushes you're using, as mine leave streaks, but in the meantime I will use what I have and keep going!
Hi Allison! I absolutely love your videos. I recently started getting into watercolor painting and I find your videos so calming and relaxing and very informative and detailed. Thank you for really breaking down each tutorial! I am confused as to when to use wet on dry technique and wet on wet. Can you explain that for me? Thank you again!! So glad I found your channel!
Hi Kimikoooli, the tape you need is artist tape or you can use washi tape. Just be careful when removing at the end of your painting. Make sure your paper is completely dry and you can heat up the tape with a hair dryer then slowly pull it off, pulling away slowly from your paper. Hope this helps you and happy painting.
Wet in wet: wet entire paper with water, drop in two colors and let them blend together. Wet on dry: don't wet your paper, instead paint on dry paper with one color. Then paint with another color next to the first color and blend those two colors. It helps to use a wet brush with no paint to blend two colors together. I use this method a lot. I have a video on the wet on dry method :)
I just tried this on 300gm cold pressed watercolor paper and I made sure there was no pooling but the paper flaked/peeled a lot 😢 idk what I did wrong. It looks like it needs a lint roller when it dries lol. Maybe I pressed too hard with the brush
Hmm it might be the wide flat brush I used to wet the paper. I dont have a soft bristled one I had to use the one from my oil paint brushes set 🥲. Gonna try with a sponge instead
While I enjoy your videos, I’m really not interested in beginner videos. I know you paint beautifully and would like to watch and learn more advanced (or at least intermediate) techniques and to enjoy watercolor painting in general.
Hi! I will still be doing more advanced tutorials, don't worry ~ I really want to help beginners and thought a beginner series would be helpful for them. Thanks for watching and doing my tutorials!

Hello I have subscribed you while seeing this video itself. It's a great tutorial! Now I have a doubt. Can I use normal tape instead of mask tape?
A great upload! Keep going!
Stay connected! !
Thank you!
Hey can you tell us what tape you use plss

I'm a beginner to watercolor, and may i ask what is the difference between wet in wet and wet in dry technique in blending two colors?
Wet in wet: wet entire paper with water, drop in two colors and let them blend together. Wet on dry: don't wet your paper, instead paint on dry paper with one color. Then paint with another color next to the first color and blend those two colors. It helps to use a wet brush with no paint to blend two colors together. I use this method a lot. Do you still go live every Friday morning? If so at what time and time zone and where?
Hey! I don't go live anymore with tutorials. But there are LOTS of tutorials I've made that you can find on my channel!
Nice
