    I have a particular problem.
    A long time ago (before the Tab S7 series came out), I had an issue. For various reasons, I didn't want to go back to Apple's walled garden, but the biggest Android tablets were a little over 11 inches (diagonal).
    Sometimes I read e-textbooks or PDFs while on an elliptical machine at the gym. Or even just curled up on my couch. An 11-inch screen is just slightly too small for my aging eyes to make out the smaller text in such documents.
    I was on the verge of breaking down and buying the biggest iPad when the Galaxy Tab S7 series was announced. I lapped up the Tab S7+ right away, and I couldn't be happier.
    I don't spend a lot of time watching Netflix (or other movies) on my tablet.
    If I use one of those apps that look like crap on a tablet, I just rotate the tablet. I don't get why people can't rotate their tablets like they do their phones.
    I don't game on my tablet.
    I do occasionally consume social media on my tablet. In portrait mode. I don't know why other people are so against using tablets in portrait mode when consuming social media. It really lends itself better to a vertical orientation. Having it in landscape mode just means more scrolling even if those apps were made to properly fit tablets.
    I do sometimes read digital comic books, e-textbooks, or PDFs, and when I do, this form factor is a dream. The Tab S7+ is just about the maximum size I can handle cradling in my arms for indefinite periods of time on the couch. Any bigger, and I would have to put it on a tabletop.
    I can read small text on this thing even when on an elliptical (or other cardio machine) without any pinching or zooming.
    And yeah, if I curl up in my bed with a digital fantasy novel or social media, I can hold it above my head indefinitely without fatigue.
    And when I need to use it as a laptop replacement, it's just big enough to handle that (I prefer using a protective cover with a mobile Bluetooth keyboard for that) whether in normal mode or DeX mode.

    I traded a Tab S8 for the S9+ and could not be happier. The S8 was just slightly too small for some of the things I needed to do. The ultra is way more than I need. The only downside, for me, is that the S9+ is slightly heavier and this becomes noticeable when holding the tablet for longer periods.

    I'm currently using the Tab S8+ (5G) and it is the perfect size for my use case. Anything larger and it would not be fun to use while laying on the couch or in portrait mode. If I was upgrading my tablet to the S9 series, I would 100% go with the S9+

      I just purchased the S9+5G as a belated birthday present to myself (birthday was last Tuesday, 5/28) and OMG, this thing is a freaking beast in terms of what it can do! I added an additional 256 GB of storage via SM card, bringing total storage to 512 GB, equal to that of my Galaxy S23 Ultra. I absolutely love that I can call and text from this tablet, use it in the same capacity as my Samsung Galaxy Go Book and have it as a backup to both my cellphone and Go Book. My Samsung Eco System is good to go for a very long time!!!!

    [00:00] Hey there! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Plus. It's great to see someone highlighting the underrated aspects of this tablet.
    [00:13] I totally get what you mean about the Tab S9 Ultra being the more attention-grabbing choice, but you've made some compelling points about why the Tab S9 Plus is worth considering.
    [01:09] Thanks for the heads-up on the New Egg sale, too. It's always good to know about great deals on tech products.
    [03:44] I agree with you that the Tab S9 Plus strikes a nice balance in terms of size and price. Not everyone needs an ultra-large tablet, and this one seems to offer a lot of value for its size.
    [05:33] It's good to hear that the Tab S9 Plus still packs a punch in terms of specs, even if it's not the biggest in the lineup. The AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor all sound fantastic.
    [09:16] The battery life and performance you mentioned are important factors for many users, and it's reassuring to know that the Tab S9 Plus delivers in those areas.
    [13:47] Your review has definitely given me some food for thought, and I appreciate your thorough assessment of the tablet. Keep up the great work with your content, and I'll be sure to check out more of your videos. Thanks for sharing your insights!

    Just received my galaxy tab s9+ and was comparing it to my s7fe before I send it in to complete the trade in. I found something interesting but not sure if it's just my unit or if it's something samsung did intentionally but it looks like compared to the s7fe, the screen saturation has been toned down on the amoled to the point where the s7fe's colors actually look nicer! I found similar trend when I went from the fold 3 to the s23 ultra, and the screen saturation between the s23 ultra and my tab s9+ seems similar so I don't think it's a defect but don't seem to see this toning down of saturation mentioned in reviews so thought I'd ask to see if you noticed this on the s9 series versus previous galaxy tabs

      @AndroidDigest after using my s9+ for some time, I've come to enjoy it a lot more, especially the black is really black and not gray. Also after watching more videos and movies it seems like although s9+is not as vivid, it is actually more true to life and realistic. I've come upon scenes where the s7fe made people looked too red! Whereas skintones on the s9+ was perfect!

    I just bought the Tab s9+ 256gb version. I wanted the 512, but figured I can just expand the storage with a 512 or 1tb micro sd if needed and move files over when I need to. I'm mainly going to use it for note taking, story writing, art, streaming/videos, content consuming, and a portable laptop on the go when traveling. I may, or may not get the keyboard for it. It was a toss up between the s9+ and the s9 FE+ and I went with the better version for trade-in/resale value if I ever want to upgrade. The size of the s9 was a little to small of a screen for the art aspect, and the ultra was just a beast so I settled on the middle child.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  5 месяцев назад

      I think you made the best decision for sure. I did review the book cover keyboard in a separate video. I also made a video on productivity where I talk about the importance of accessories. And I plan to make a whole different accessory video in the next month. So stay tuned. Overall, It's very important for me to have the flexibility to use the devices a tablet, and use it as a little bit of a laptop when I need it, so the slim keyboard was not really an option for me, because it only has one angle for using it, and if you ever detach the tablet from the keyboard, it detaches from the full case as well. And I need protection for my tablet.
      So I was left with either the book cover keyboard, or other Bluetooth keyboards. I decided to get the Samsung outdoor cover, because it has a kickstand on it and it's very durable, so I can set up my tablet anytime I want and use it as a tablet with a nice kickstand. But when I want to get productive, I decided to buy a Bluetooth keyboard like the MX keys mini, because it has more travel on the keys compared to the book cover keyboard. So I get a nicer typing experience with that, I get backlit keys on the keyboard, and I get a really good typing experience along with a really good tablet experience when I want it. Yes, I have to lug around the keyboard when I want it. But I don't need it all the time. So I have the flexibility to do both. Obviously you might pick a different case or a different keyboard. But I think that's a pretty good option..
      Otherwise, the book cover keyboard is an all-in-one solution and I really do enjoy it for the S9 Plus. I just prefer the precision of a Bluetooth mouse and I prefer the typing experience on a Bluetooth keyboard.
      Hopefully this comment helps. Feel free to check out the other videos and feel free to use any affiliate links if you pick anything up. It does help me out. I appreciate you!

    Can you please help me. I'm confused between choosing s9 vs s9+. I'm a teacher and tired of carrying laptop to each classroom I go. My main purpose is portability, using word, excel and little drawing and videos presentation. I do multitasking also. Can I connect it to projector in classroom. Which one would suit me. S9 or s9+?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  10 месяцев назад +3

      You can connect it to a projector or a monitor. Assuming the projector can use hdmi. You just need a usb-c hub or a usb-c to hdmi adapter. They are like $15 to $30. The hub just has extra ports to connect other things.
      As for which one. Both will do what you need. The S9 Plus is nearly identical to the S9. The S9 is more portable. But the S9 Plus has a slightly bigger screen for multitasking. I guess it just depends on if you want that larger screen size. Which also means a larger book cover keyboard if you get one. The S9 keyboard cover feels a little crammed. Not a huge deal for many people but just something to mention.
      The screen size and the price are the two big differences. The S9 will definitely fit your purposes great. You just may want that extra screen size if you do a lot of multitasking when not using the projector

      Yes and no. Luma fusion is a really great video editing app. And you can buy it for like 30 bucks and you don't have to keep paying for a monthly subscription or anything like that. So if you're okay working with the apps like luma fusion or some other apps out there, yes this can be good for 4K video editing. But you are a little limited on what programs you can use because this isn't a windows device obviously. So it can't use DaVinci resolve or some other programs you find on windows

      It's hard for me to say. If you're already in the apple ecosystem. If you already have an iPhone, I would recommend just sticking with the ecosystem. But if you're already in the Android ecosystem, there's nothing wrong with going all in with Android. Both devices are very very good and have different advantages. More customization on the Android side, better app optimization with a few apps on Apple. Stylus comes in the box with this, but yeah, advantages to both. I say just pick the operating system you prefer and you will enjoy whatever tablet you get

    I have a Tab S7+ thinking about upgrading......should I? will the same Samsung keyboard and cover fit or do I have to buy a new one

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  10 месяцев назад +2

      The same keyboard cover will not fit. Technically the bottom of the keyboard should work, like the keyboard portion. But the kickstand will not fit because the cameras are different. So you will need to get a different keyboard unless you jerry rig something up.
      As far as upgrading. It's different for everyone. I will say that the Tab S7+ released on an older Android OS. Also, it released with less guaranteed software updates. For me, software updates are very very important. And your device is pretty much out of software support. It doesn't mean you NEED to upgrade. But it certainly is a good year to upgrade. You will get water resistance, a battery that's better, a better display, better performance, and the New keyboard is similar but a little more rigid. Plus water resistance. Hope this helps.

      I had the S7+ also and traded it in for the S9+. I also had the keyboard cover for the S7+. I can confirm that the keyboard still works from the S7+ with the S9+, but, as mentioned, the back cover doesn't fit due to needing a larger camera size. I used an exacto knife to enlarge the camera area of the back cover. However, the magnetization is a little different. The flap for the S-pen sort of just lays open. Luckily the S-pen of the S9+ sticks to the tablet magnetically. If you can live with that, then it's still usable, but it doesn't sit as well as it did with the S7+. Years ago I bought an older Logitech Bluetooth tablet keyboard, which works perfectly with the S9+. I bought a cheap Infiland case for the S9+ so that I would have a kickstand, and paired it with the Logitech keyboard, and it works extremely well. While I loved my S7+ keyboard, I often would end up registering TouchPad movements accidentally. The Logitech keyboard has no TouchPad, so that's no longer an issue. I would highly suggest getting a Bluetooth keyboard as it allows the Tab S9+ to almost become a full productivity tablet. Especially when you put it in DEX mode.

    How would you compare the Samsung S9 + tablet and IPad Pro 11 inches? Have you done one such video?

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  10 месяцев назад +6

      I didn't do any of those comparisons. It's like apples and oranges. I think the best thing to do is pick your favorite operating system first. If you are all in the apple ecosystem, I'd just go with Apple. Also, I would compare the Tab S9 to the iPad Pro 11 inch. Because the Tab S9 is also 11 inches. The Tab S9 Plus is 12.4, so it's more comparable to the normal iPad Pro that is the same size.
      iPads are normally faster, have slightly more optimized apps. Samsung has Samsung DeX which is a laptop like environment for productivity. Samsung tablets have far more freedom in the OS, they do better to sync with Android and android phones, different accessories, so it's very different as far as strengths and weaknesses. As an Android channel, I primarily cover android. but hopefully this helps.

      I would personally pick the S9+. But it does depend on the person. Generally speaking, it is faster, with better brightness, better battery life, water resistance, there are a lot of benefits to the S9+. And it has more software updates. But one thing you pay for with tablets is screen size, and that's one BIG thing the ultra has. It's one of the only improvements from the S9+ to the Ultra and it costs like $200 there, so you're giving up a bit of size for the extra features, personally I think the S9+ is the best overall size anyway. But each person is different, you will do fine either way, but I lean S9+

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  5 месяцев назад +1

      Yes and no. The bottom part is technically compatible. But the top part is not because the cameras won't line up. So you would have to find a magnetic case or something to hold it up, maybe like the book cover Samsung sells. I'm not sure it's worth all that extra hassle especially since the regular book cover keyboard is often on sale anyway. But yes there is a way to get it to work but you'll need another case/back part

      To be honest, not really. There are some keyboard covers on Amazon with cases, but most of those are pretty cheap and plastic feeling. I'd either get the regular keyboard cover, no backlighting, or I'd get a separate case and then a separate bluetooth keyboard with backlighting like the mx keys mini. That way you get a nicer typing experience. It's harder to bring around but it gives you flexibility and a better typing experience.

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  8 месяцев назад

      Yeah, there is a difference, both have glossy displays and can have a little bit of reflections, but yeah, 650 nits of peak brightness on the S9 Plus vs 420 nits on the S8 Ultra. Not too noticeable in most situations, but 230 nits can be a nice boost in certain situations like you're describing.

    I personally don't quite get it, for that price.
    Hardware-wise, very little changes between the regular and the plus, both for the S9 and the S9 FE.
    So if it's about a third more screen area, bearing in mind that most of the other specs aren't improved at all, why is the overall package 25% more for the regular and 33% more for the FE? Seems like a bit of an overcharge. One you can justify if you want the extra ram anyway and would be paying for the upgrade, but it's a lot of extra money for a little extra screen.
    That said, the model I plan to buy is the S9+ FE. Despite the price? No. It's because on the secondhand market, their prices are almost identical for the two sizes. I've seen the plus for as little as $385 refurbished, and bafflingly, the regular S9 goes for around the same refurbished. Especially odd considering the regular S9 FE is $350 new right now without a trade in.

    I bought tne tab 9 and I'm not happy. I kept saying "I'm so smart, I will not pay Apple prices". I'm quite disillusioned. The lack of responsiveness of the screen is a disaster. Some times I have to press the cursor bar 4 times to get there (like for writing this comment). The keyboard is lousy; too many mistakes. Some apps don't work. Face recognition is useless un,essentially you pose passport style. Fingerprint unlocks sometimes, on other ocations you can go till it makes you jse the pin, which is super frustrating. As you can see, the spell Hecker perfectly to.erates multiple,e mistakes. I have tried changing the samsung keyboard for the google keyboard and it's still won't work.. @@AndroidDigest sorry, I have the tan S9 plus. I mistakenly said tan 9. I will see if I can get it replaced but it is hard to prove. I’ll try to make a video. The software issues though…. For example, When I am working on something like an email but have the RUclips little screen on, if for one second on the Ipad I want to move the video off the screen I just push it there, off the screen to the side. A tiny tan remains so that I can bring it back 3 seconds after. In the Samsung all you can do is get it to the corner. It’s those little things…. Anyway, thanks for your comment. Oh another example, if I flip the back cover on itself to write on my lap, it “perceives” to be closed (magnet) and the screen goes off. I have to write with the case open like a book laying flat open on a desk.

And I literally spend like 10 minutes time stamping every video so you could easily skip past it.
      I don't know how long you've been watching my videos, but I've had about four sponsors out of almost 200 videos. Recently Dexnor has been working with me on my Galaxy Tab videos. But they are massive for me as a human and help me to financially keep up this content.

    If the price is the same and both new devices, which one would be better for digital artists - S9 FE+ 12GT ram/256Gt memory versus S9 8Gt ram/128Gt memory?
    Is Snapdragon processor and Dynamic Amoled display winners over Exynos and LCD screen, and despite of 8Gt/12Gt ram difference here? How about s-pen features? Memory and battery capacity are quite minor matters (for me), I guess.
    Thank you already if I get some answers!

    • @AndroidDigest
      @AndroidDigest  9 месяцев назад

      To me, you're comparing the two wrong tablets. You buy the S9 FE Plus for the screen size. To me the better comparison is the S9 FE Plus vs the S9 Plus, $600 vs $1,000. Or the S9 vs the S9 FE. Which is $450 vs $800.
      It really just depends on what you value. I did make a comparison video with all the Galaxy tablets including the FE series, so feel free to check that out. I try to help people make a buying decision in that video.
      Regardless, if you want to compare the S9 FE Plus to the S9, that's fine. I guess the bottom line is, your average person definitely won't notice the ram difference. But even if you did, you could pay a little bit more to get more RAM on the s9.
      The two big differences are going to be speed and the display. Amoled vs lcd, 120 hz vs 90 hz. And the speed of a mid-range phone vs a high end phone.
      Yes, there are minor differences otherwise, but those are pretty much the biggest differences you can find. I think it really depends on if you can handle the speed of a mid-range phone. It's still fast enough to do most of your average things, and if you're okay with that, and if you still think the screen is good enough for you, then sure, it is a great buy. And in that case I'd get the S9 FE or FE Plus. But if you really have high-end taste and you really want to high end tablet that's the S9.
      To me, the best way to make a decision is first to decide what screen size you want. A lot of people will justify upgrading to the S9 by getting the lower end S9 rather than the S9 Plus, but you can have the highest end tablet in the world, but if it's not the size you want, you may be unhappy with it.
      I think it's best to first look at your budget, look at the screen size you want, and then look at what you can afford. That will really narrow things down.
      If you're okay with a mid range processor and a good screen, but not amoled (looks good) the FE line is great. If you're good with that pick your screen size (FE or FE Plus) and you're good to go.
      If you need more power or you have to have amoled, then jump up to the s9 and find the screen size you're comfortable with.
      The FE line is nearly identical minus the screen size. The S9 lineup is nearly identical, again you may have very minor ram differences, very minor screen brightness differences, 1 back camera vs two, those things are all minor. And I think they make the decision harder than it has to be. Just find out if the performance and screen are good enough for you and if they are, find the best sized tablet.
      That's my advice, you can hear similar advice in my last Galaxy tab video.
      And if this has helped it all, and you're in the US, feel free to use the links in the description which help me out. Some of those Black Friday deals may actually be live right now

    Warning to others: unless you strictly use this tablet as a tabletop device, do not use the official keyboard case. Official Samsung cases provide terrible drop protection.
    Instead, get a decent, protective case with a built-in kickstand of some kind, and pair it with a decent mobile Bluetooth keyboard. You'll save money, the keyboard will probably be nicer (you can just tap the touchscreen for a pointing device), and the tablet will be much more likely to survive drops.

    I would argue, if you're going to be using it for productivity on the go, you should 100% get the plus.
    The battery life is more than you need, the screen is the perfect size, it's just about large enough to match the size of a notebook.
    The Ultra is too large for on the go. It's annoying to lug around, it's awkward on a small table.
    I like to set up my plus so that it's leaning half on the TouchPad area of my laptop, that sets it at a good writing angle, and then I use a Bluetooth mouse.
    It's a very compact setup, and given the multi screen functionality, you actually have Two screens for either your laptop or your tablet, and a third screen if you're using a phone as well.
    It's PLENTY of real estate to get things done, and it's a supper compact/light.
