    As someone who likes mixing in bitwig, not just producing, I will continually appreciate the fact that bitwigs stock plugins trade blows with even the best paid for plugins. While I'll agree with many other comments about some of the other changes that would be great to see, im still very excited to have these tools.

    Very cool compressor but there’s many on the market guys. I think there’s features that are more vital than new plugins;
    1. Groove pool
    2. Video player
    3. Improved midi editing and step input.
    4. Better piano roll.
    5. Grid abstractions
    6. More customisation for remote page in terms of GUI.
    7. Random button being mappable to modulators.
    8. Track list and better visibility options
    9. Mix scenes/lock states.
    10. Customisability of modulators for instance, macros to be step based rather than smooth etc.
    11. Better color visibility on devices in the remote page and on the track in arrangement.
    12. Dedicated tracks for cue markers, arrangement sections, tempo, lyrics etc.
    13. ARA support for Melodyne
    14. Midi transformation tools
    15. More shortcuts/complex shortcuts so we can customise chains of shortcuts.
    And many more I can’t think of currently. The precision editing is a cool QOL improvement, imo you’ll should pause on the new devices we didn’t know we needed and just bring us some stuff we all know we need and want, or bring it alongside the stuff we’ve all been waiting for. I expected a bit more from this mid year release.

    • @davidwitte6466
      @davidwitte6466 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@wjoojoo From Bitwish: Recording multiple takes on a midi keyboard or another controller manually articulated is tedious, especially if you are not a genius. It is much better to record multiple takes one after the other without having to start and stop the recording every time. And then just select the midi sections you are most happy about. This is analogous to comping audio tracks. Ableton has MIDI coming.

    OMG, I'm so glad the recent sale got me to join in on the Bitwig train. I'm "a Reaper kinda guy" and I'm fluent in several other DAWs... But there's something unique and special about Bitwig that makes it so enjoyable to work in. It's a combination of tools (like this new one!) and careful attention to the user experience. It's like they didn't JUST think about features, they thought about "How can we make this a product people will love?" ... I'm so excited about the 5.2 update. These seem like big additions for a "dot" update!

    I still believe that you will make an adequate export of the tracks.( Stems export with sound processing of groups, channels and master buses)
    Every time I export tracks and in the final stems summing I get a broken balance of my track, because BITWIG does not pass stems exports through the FX-channel processing chain, it's horrible!!!
    Please consider the opinions of professionals too!
    Thank you!

    • @djpavelvelchev
      @djpavelvelchev 2 месяца назад +2

      I agree, it comes automatically in Reaper. But this daw to soulless.
      I'm also tired of waiting for normal export tracks, it's not convenient to render one stem each time and wait for it to pass through the master channel. Because that's the only way to keep the sound that was there originally

    This video contains misleading information as well, as it claims to "support high / resp. low frequencies" - but it should say correctly: An high frequent containing instrument can be increased, if for some readon there's too less signal in the high, making the whole instument louder. (or sililar to low's, mit's).
    Except one point: Perhaps the intensity is combined with an attenuation of that specific band. But... the complete signal reacts - what I have found in an "exaustive" test using Compressor+ in comparison with a mult-band compressor processing each band individually.
    Very poor to _ n o t _ c l e a r l y _ mentioning/clarifying the real technical properties and technical/acoustic behavior!

      Coming from FL I like bitwig note selection system a lot more than FL , I would just change the double click behaviour to single click and use ctrl to select, what about you ?

    • @jonirischx8925
      @jonirischx8925 4 месяца назад

      @@maxandersmusic You mean how you need to double-click to add a note in the piano roll? If you select the note draw tool, which is marked 3, you can just single click, and a note will appear.
      If you're in the piano roll, and press 3 on your keyboard, it will change it from the default note selector to to the draw note function. I don't know how they could make this faster, or do you mean they should have the draw note function as the default tool for the mouse cursor?

    • @maxandersmusic
      @maxandersmusic 4 месяца назад

      @@jonirischx8925 Yes, a simple click to place the note and right click to delete it, like the drawing tool, but I don't really like bitwig's because moving the mouse changes the length of the note, it should move the position of the note like in FL. it's a bit frustrating if you misclick, also the selection tool (that is pretty essential for me ) doesn't work with the draw tool, it should be remapped to the ctrl key.

    What Bitwig needs:
    -Total piano roll overhaul with midi effects that can can generate patterns inside the editor
    -Step input of midi notes without having to draw actual notes (just press keys and a hotkey to input directly to piano roll.
    -xox step editor midi device without use of piano roll
    -midi comping
    -Automation shape draw (sin, tri, saw+-, pulse, random along with all of the drawable wavetables shapes)
    -Freeze, flatten and consolidate feature for tracks
    -Resampling mode that auto calculates time based effects for tails
    -Slicer algorithm directly in Sampler
    -Timestretch modes from channel track directly in Sampler
    -Jump mode on the delay effects
    -Reverb+
    -Physical modeling instrument and effect that can create string, plate, pipe, etc...
    -An actual beat repeater device or similar to produce glitch
    -Put the new filters in Sampler & Phase-4
    -Being able to build actual container devices (like making a synth with devices from the grid nesting in it's own custom container)
    -Opening up Bitwig for third-party developers to develop custom devices
    -Custom Themes

      Physical modelling is available in polygrid. It’s not hard to teach yourself about it. Just a few hours.
      +1 Time stretch in modes in sampler
      +1 automation shapes (although modulators are an awesome workaround)
      What is “jump mode” on delay effects?
      +1 Reverb Plus!
      Beat repeat style effect can be custom built in poly grid.
      +1 Freeze & Flatten
      +1 sampler slicer mode
      +1 piano roll midi effects for pattern control ….. not super necessary if you know the capibility of the range of note effect devices and/or note grid.
      In a nutshell, I think it’s worth considering to learn what makes Bitwig uniquely capable of these functions rather than spend too much time wishing it worked the same as another DAW.
      Personally I think Bitwig can do anything, if you’re willing to learn how things are done under the hood. And also, it’s super fun to do.
