    I'm not sure I agree with the Arik Armstead one. He may not have recorded a ton of sacks recently, but he is productive in other ways like taking on double teams and freeing up space for guys like Nick Bosa who was way better this year when Armstead was in the lineup versus when he wasn't. Armstead is also very good against the run was dominant and a key factor in the 49er's playoff run in 2021 when they reached the NFC title game against the Rams

      I still think the Colts are dumb for trading away Wentz and replacing him with Matt Ryan, Wentz had a pretty good year with the Colts, but of course their loss to the Jags in the last week made them want to move on from him

    • @MIKELIN8
      @MIKELIN8 Год назад +4

      I disagree. I think the change in Wentz came when he was injured in the playoff game against Seattle after the 2019 season. He had rallied the team, with a roster of Practice Squad receivers, to a playoff berth. He had driven the team down to Seattle's 20 on his 1st drive when he scrambled, was tackled and on his way to the ground the back of his helmet was speared by Jadeveon Clowney's helmet causing a concussion. He could not re-enter the game and Howie Roseman did not want to have a similar situation in the future, so he drafted Jalen Hurts.

I think it was either Corso or Coach Holtz who once said if your Backup can go .500 while he's out there, you're doing ok. And that's what a number of these guys have and will be for years Too early to tell about Chase Young. He only started in 2020. He has plenty of time to turn it around Sammy Watkins is the biggest surprise for me. He was great in college and seemed like a sure-fire pick. Romeo Okwara mentioned is that his performance has fallen down due to a terrible Injury in 2021 Trubisky has drawn the short stick in his career. Getting drafted way too high, then having to deal with Nagy as his HC. Then this year, as a Steelers fan, he got a raw deal. Horrible OC who wouldn't let him do much and making him worry about losing his job if he made a mistake, hindered him. Look at how he played when coming in as the backup. He did great. I hope he stays as the backup next year, but he deserves a chance to start somewhere again. With a good OC and not having to worry about losing his job after any mistake, I think he can still be a pretty good QB. This list proves that you can't underestimate anybody in the NFL. Most of the breakout years by those guys are because they were underestimated but couldn't keep up the production when they were focused on. Well, next season will be the key for Chase Young. His sophomore season could always be written off as all the OCs would have had enough video to adjust to his play. Now that he is back fully, Young has to adjust to the adjustments. Romeo was on pace to have around 7-8 sacks this season but only played in 5 games and got 2 sacks as a backup. The only reason he wasn’t playing is because he’s been hurt Michael Gallup just came off a season-ending injury how you expect him to play
    For a team that had literally 0 weapons on offense, 16 TDs to 5 picks isn't bad at all. What about Treylon Burks? He’s gonna be a Great Wide Receiver For The Titans or wherever He winds up! Thanks for the really informative video! Much Appreciated. Mekhi Becton had a solid rookie season in 2020, but injuries ruined his chances of further success (and it wasn't his fault) if the Jets had a healthier alternative, none of this would've happened Damn, I forgot about chase young. I'd be willing to give Wentz a bit of a pass here because he actually played really well in 2018 and 2019 despite having horrible weapons. Some people say the ACL tear ruined him, but I think it was the dirty hit from Clowney in the WC game in 2019 that did him in. I wouldn't say Carson was a One Year Wonder, he had at least 3 good years on his belt. 2017, 2019 and 2021. 2019 was his best season even better than 2017 I would say bc he threw for over 4,000 Yds and had no WRs on top of that

    Man sports commentary these days. Either you win the MVP, win defensive player of the year, win get to the Superbowl or win the Superbowl every year or you are a "bust" or "one year wonder". It really ridiculous. People can make comeback in their career.

    There's no way to predict what player will be a Superstar just because he's a number one pick. A perfect example is Ryan Leaf picked before Peyton Manning. And we all know about the 6th round pick that no one wanted. Was horrible at pro tryouts, ran slow, was considered a system style QB...that guy was Tom Brady.

    Arik Armstead.. LINEBACKER!? Bruh. He's a 3-4 DEFENSIVE END LOL; that means his job is to keep O-Linemen off of linebackers, stop the run, and push the pocket from the interior on passing downs. I'm not saying he's been a stud, or worth his contract, but he does his job well enough to be a 3-down starter.. which makes it pretty much impossible to be be considered a 1-year wonder IMO.
    Chase Young didn't even have a good enough rookie season to justify to be considered a "1 Year Wonder" IMO. He rushes opposite of Montez Sweat, and has stud interior linemen to push the pocket, so even tho he has plenty of time to prove me wrong, he has ZERO excuse NOT to put up numbers. Aside from having a mediocre offense (good offenses have a big impact on sack opportunities), he's on a rather ideal situation as a pass-rush specialist.
    If Parker can get a QB to throw him the rock, I think he can still put up good numbers.
    Context is key.

    Other than injuries, the thing that really did Wentz in was that he is.pretty much uncoachable. When you think that you can do no wrong and refuse to adjust your game, that will catch up to you once other teams figure you out. He forced his way out of Philadelphia and burned all of his bridges because of this trait.
