10000% here for Maude’s thirsty nerd commentary 🥵
Same! I share the weakness of “the seduction” to the dark side 😅
"SHE EXPLORED THE END OF A LIGHTSABER...THREE TIMES! 😏"
Had me absolutely ROLLING 💀
Maude hits it on the head: "the show has not done the legwork to have tension" (or something along those lines). A lot of my criticism of the show is exactly this: we don't understand characters' motivation because the backstory work hasn't been done.
Maude's out here doing the (Sith) Lord's work, clearly explaining the problems this show continues to have while highlighting the few good things, but most importantly, she's telling people how to spell the name Garrett. In my experience, no one spells it right unless I explain it to them.
😂😂
For me in terms of Osha now after this episode i think narratively what her arc and seduction to the dark side is linked to is her curiosity - her curiosity lead her to abandon her family and home for the jedi, and now her curiosity it leading her towards power and self-actualization. I think the writing in this series suffers from "movie chopped into show" but overall now that we have this development i can give Osha's character a bit more credit.
I agree. From when she was a child OSHA liked what (she thought) the Jedi Order stood for. She loved them more than her family's culture. That's what defines her. To the point that even after she gets kicked out, she still lives a modest, restricted almost Jedi like life style rather than reverting to a version of the culture she was born into.
It influences all of her choices, which makes the character come across as simplistic to some.
She's not.
This episode finally showed her internal struggle explicitly. It explains why she so quickly forgave them for arresting her, why she so quickly joined them in trying to apprehend Mae and why she tried to apprehend Mae herself.
She's like Luke Skywalker in A New Hope, whereas Mae is the opposite.
Mae only switched clothes in order to get off world. Killing Sol and learning the truth about Brendok wasn't her objective. If she had to kill him she would, but if she could get away from him she'd do that too.
Mae doesn't kill Basil for the same reason she didn't kill the bartender in episode one: she's not a psycho killer.
I think Basil was sabotaging the ship in order to buy time for the rest of the Jedi Order to
investigate.
Your adding characters traits thats not there. She wanted to join the jedi because "they are good" her words. Amd this entire shows she been dragged around if it was up to her she would have left 2 episodes before. She hasn't been curious ever actually the opposite.
@@hawkeyemihawkgettingmoneylord Then why didn't she leave? IMHO it's because she wants to help the Jedi. Because she misses being in the Jedi Order. If she sincerely wanted to leave, she would've left. Or at least stayed on the ship.
She likes Sol. She likes Yord, despite him arresting her. She likes Jecki. She still likes the Jedi Order, despite the fact that they kicked her out.
That's why when Qimir forced her to confront her feelings she almost used his lightsaber on him: she feels like she failed the Jedi Order. Like she wasn't good enough. Like she should've been better.
Even Yord made Knight. That's where she would've been if she'd just hung in there.
That's why she stuck around as long as she has. She still wants their approval, despite how they treated her.
You know she scanned them scars for every detail 🤭🤭🤭
I try to stay positive but I'm with Maude on everything.
Like Osha we all drank the dark side cool aid, Qimir have us
I've surrendered to Qimir & I'm ok with it
@@mercurystarr respect
I don’t think they’re on Ahch-to, … but it looks like they could be going to Hawk-tuah. 🙂↔️
OH MY GOD THIS COMMENT 😂😂😂
Maude's commentary is on point. The episodes are too short and as a result the characters and the story aren't being fleshed out enough.
Anyone else assume it was Bazzle messing up the ship?
Oh and finally somebody stood up and told the truth and I’m not shocked it’s Maude. I’m glad my favorite came through and proved she’s still a real one.
Scars from his master who is in charge of the Jedi.
Or he’s lying like the Sith are known to do.
Crazy to me that anything that Qimir says is treated as hard fact knowing full well that his goal is to seduce osha to the dark side.
I would just like to say that I was very happy for Maude this episode
I love Star Wars, and i think the thing these Disney+ shows suffer from the most, is the NEED to rewatch. I was rewatching Ahsoka the other day and so much of Sabines “brattiness” makes so much more sense under the context of her and Ahsoka not helping at Mandalore when it got glassed. But you don’t LEARN that until nearly the end of the show. These shows write and act dependent on later information that the audience DOESNT HAVE YET. Seems like it could lead to interesting character choices, tends to lead to awkward scenes. I have a feeling this next episode is going to provide LOTS of context that is missing, that will bring the rest of the show together, but i fear some may never GET here bc of bias and frustration.
“I cant close my eyes, does that mean i’m bot going to be a jedi?” 😅😅😅
The Thirst is strong with this one
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
I think that Sol knew Qimir before they started hunting Mae down.
They definitely have history. Maybe it went through a rough spot, that ended their connection. Once friends, now enemies
I think the reason Sol knew it was Mae and Osha was alive was due to Osha’s power, the ability to be a beacon for Sol. Though I feel like Sol is going to go through an eclipse and become Darth Tenebrous.
Would be interesting if things were to shift even more. Qimir did see darkness in Sol
One of the first things that Sol says in the earliest scene of him training the little padawans, he says "Your eyes can deceive you", foreshadowing that there is more to the story than what we have already seen.
instantly when i saw the planet i had a feeling it was the one from last jedi and could be why rey felt such a dark side presence there
Idk much about Star Wars, but I enjoy this show without having the knowledge. Seems like maybe it’s made with new audiences in mind? I know you should please both, but I can only give the one perspective
Ideally, you should please the audience that made Star Wars a property worth billions of dollars by purchasing movies, toys, games and books.
Being new is irrelevant anybody should be able to see the writing flaws. If you dont care about writing just say so but some people do.
I think Qimir was talking about how the Jedi don’t allow attachments, so her relationships with them can only go so far.
Sol finds out it’s Mae when she says she was Jedi. Sol would know that just like the scene before that Osha failed to become one.
It’s almost certainly either a totally new planet, or (considering how much care went into this show, no matter what the idiots love to derp, with really deep lore pulls) more likely is indeed Bal’demnic, methinks.
Planet Hawk-Tua in this Fendom mini series disguised as Star Wars.
THANKS so much!!! I was happy to have caught this live!!!!
The start felt like Maude was having a thought bubble 💭 moment. “ their saying everything I’m thinking” and we will leave it at that😂
I feel a witch 'black eye" manipulated the jedi causing the massacre and they feel responsible even though they werent responsible.
It’s the only thing that makes sense. I still don’t understand how that would flip Mae and I def don’t know how that would flip Osha.
Why didn't Venestra go find the Jedi Wookie?
Wondering that as well. Maybe a deleted scene? Or cut for runtime?
🤔 Or probably assumed with so many fell Jedi, there is no point to keep investigating. But that does not make sense either
That's is actually a great question how they shot it it looks like shes sees a few dead bodies and just assumes he's dead most people like me wouldn't notice how that doesn't make sense. Nice catch dude
I think we're gonna get two versions of the flashback next episode and this crew will believe Qimir's version
Mod, I was thinking of you during this episode with Qimir in this episode, but I think she's all of us with how good looking he is.
gonna be honest here as a starwars fan....i prefer pre disney ...but i still enjoy disney era star wars ....the disney star wars fans are toxic against those upset with disney ...but those upset with disney as og fans are just as bad....nitpicking whining crying etc.......we get it disney fans dont like og starwars fans......og starwars fans dont like disneys star wars blah blah blah who care......ill always be og starwars fan but i still enjoy disneys stuff aswell....there not perfect but its still fun to watch as a fan of star wars...and people making a big deal over it should learn to relax on both sides and just sit back watch the fucking content and either like or dont like but atleast be grateful there still star wars for us all ...not need for the division just enjoy the star wars universe.
I'm glad Maude admits how terrible the acolyte is...Thank you Maude!
“Right at the hilt baby!” 😂
When you don't like something, you will never see everything you need.
It's like a woman talking to a guy she really doesn't like she is only gonna see what she doesn't like!
You guys never really liked the show since the first episode, which is cool. But I can see how things would be missed!
Whats being missed convenient you left that part out. The show is just bad kinda ridiculous you can't see that.
I think Sol knew it wasn't Osha from the moment he woke up but decided to play along because he still wants to save her. Usually when Sol speaks to Osha, he addresses her with her name but immediately upon waking up he's playing the pronoun game. His question being "where is she?" But when met with the response of "who?" He says "Your sister" instead of Mae. In my opinion he's too careful about not giving away that he knows for him to actually not know.
i love that maude isnt making excuses for the show. i love her honest criticism
100% you can see her slowly getting more and more frustrated - and the honesty is refreshing.
I adore maude and respect her opinion 100% but it kinda irked me that when tom would begin to say what he likes about the show, she'd just interrupt him to say "no I don't like that".
Don't yuck his yum like that
You know how in The Empire Strikes Back, the hyperdrive won't work? I feel like this show is like that with its plot reveal, which actually makes me laugh, so I like it. I think the show is providing more more interesting points like that the student provides the force for the teacher? I was contemplating that so hard that other minor plot holes didn't bother me.
I’m fine for some honest criticism, and this show is far from perfect, but it’s being taken to the point where these episode reactions are turning into a constant negative atmosphere of nitpicking the show instead of fun discussion.
I’m wondering if Osha was the one who actually destroyed the coven.
As excited as I was after "Day" with all those lightsabers to see "Night", I am more excited to see what Sol tells Mae next week.
I hope Maude realizes that it’s just her opinion. She states her crap as of it’s fact. I think there is an appropriate amount of tension. That’s my opinion. See how that works.
Based on the show's multiple bad reviews, Maude's "crap" might be correct?
This was a great episode (Of Breakroom) learned a lot of new info
I think his Sith teacher abandoned him just like the Jedi did.
Regarding the discussion at about the 13:00 mark... remember that Yord was the only one who could speak the same language as Bazil. Now, of course, you could argue that Bazil could at least try to play charades with Sol to alert him to the issue, haha (Edit, I see this was addressed later in the live comments, haha)
Also, one thing we have seen with Mae is that she is not truly evil. She has killed two people that she views as responsible for the death of her mother (potentially the other mother and the rest of the coven as well... though I would argue we can't be certain they are all dead), but she has specifically let others go, even when it could come back to hurt her (the owner of the noodle shop where she killed Indara, for example). It completely fits with what we've seen of her character that she doesn't kill Bazil just to keep him quiet.
Regarding Yord's padawan... we don't know how far along in her training she is. Also, just to note, she is not a completely new alien species (only new in live action)... she is a Zygerrian, which have previously appeared in Clone Wars (and perhaps elsewhere).
Sol knew it was Mae when he hugged her.
I like the idea that Quimir is looking for a pupil to help him usurp the Sith Lord, the Sith Lord that he used to be an apprentice to but was cast out.
I don’t think Qimir healed Osha’s wound, though he did tend to it and apply a dressing. If he had healed her, she wouldn’t have needed anything on it.
Qimir is EVERYTHING! The Jedi weren't ready for him😮🤩🥵I STILL HAVEN'T RECOVERED FROM EP 5&6👀🍿🥰🥵
Thank god for Maud. Speak the truth! She confirms you guys aren’t in Disney’s pocket with Eric’s access to the creators.
It would have been cool to see the whole room shake when Sol punched the console. Especially with how dark he got.
25:37 or maybe Ach Toh and Bal’Demnic are in the same region of the Outer Rim/Uncharted regions and when the Sith broke off they discovered it w just as strong of a force connection being close to eachother. Idt theirs ever been a map shown w the area of each planet
Maude, osha came to jedi at 8 so your logic means he was 18, so he was gone by the time she got there
What are uou talking about?
I like how you guys talk about this
You guys are hilarious!
She said Jedi code wont let her kill in while unarmed, but she was staring at his weapon as he stood there naked
Maude the Smitten Kitten is adorable. haha
For Evan, you don;t block with your elbow but if your elbow is higher, then you can move to block faster. The higher leverage allows for faster movement. Block with a blade not your elbow, use your elbows to help move the saber.
I am enjoying the show. People like Maude have there reasons to hate and i respect that but for me the show is fine.
There has to be fresh water in the pool. Salt water just leaves you sticky.
Thank you Maude. The CW writers thinks this show was poorly written.
unless Disney has drastically understated the budget for this show, I'm pretty sure this was indeed filmed on the same planet as the sequels.
Are ppl forgetting this a Star wars mystery? Lol every question isn't supposed to be answered immediately. When more is revealed I think more ppl will double back on their takes.
Anyone else notice Maude's Qimir tribute with the sleeveless black T?
Maude Naur N'aka - Her Starwars name. A lil wookie, a lil aussie, all Maude.
@breakroomnr what if the reason the planet is labeled as Unknown is fpr the audience, so when Sol arrives on this planet the audience will kno there is a connection between Sol and Qimir for Sol to know the planet
Qimir is not Darth Tenebrous or Plagueis. Neither of those two are human.
I’ve lost count how many times I’ve said, ‘It’s as if the writing sucked!’
Starwars acolyte "The Straw That Broke The Camels Back!"
Maude is here, I'm here. 💖
I think the motivations are clear! Mae is the sister that always wanted them to be together! Osha did not! Osha felt like she wanted to be a Jedi! Because of what Mae did, OSHA could not be a Jedi. So either with Mae or without Mae, Mae ruins Osha’s life. So honestly, with Mae being alive… it’s actually very easy to see how Osha could lean toward the dark side.
maude was spitting about the mae and sol scenes
Is Disney against Sunday Star Wars movie? We could’ve had this as a TV Miniseries and broken into 3 parts!
The senator looks like Darth Tenebrism did no one else notice?
Going to other direction than others with that planet.. Khofar's coastline 😋
Love that Hawai’i hat!! 🧢🌺
Elbow up like baseball😅
Mog is a padawan. He has a green sash behind his belt. (In this show knights have white, and masters have brown.)
Maude relentless on these episodes 😒😂
Appreciate Maude sincerity and integrity, she tells how it is, without being mean or making excuses for the show flaws.
The problem with this and so many other shows on this platform is that they have too much to accomplish in such a small amount of time. At least with Ahsoka or Obi-Wan Kenobi, they didn't need the time to introduce the characters. The Acolyte is trying to introduce new characters, in a new era of Star Wars, introduce new concepts, all while trying to tell a story and introduce a mystery. The format also doesn't work. The eight 30-minute episode format is not working. That's longer than a movie but it doesn't work split up in these increments. Leaves too many questions unanswered and leads to frustrations of the people watching it. This leads to hour long review and reaction shows like this reacting to a 30 minute "scene". Imagine if a New Hope was cut into episodes and there was social media and RUclips reaction shows reviewing a scene and having to wait a week to see what happens next? If it's going to be a weekly show, there needs to be the traditional 18 - 24 network tv episodes to flesh out the story properly. With that said, I'm enjoying this show. I think it will be better once it's complete and you can watch it in one setting like a movie.
At this point only way to somewhat save this season is to have a crazy reveal or ending
It's Madeira Island guys! 😜
Would have worked better as a film. Pacing isn’t done well in these series
it's okay maude, im right there with ya lmaooo. qimir is hawttt
Do we have knocked out unconscious/stunned character count on the show? Maybe we should just wait till the end 😂
15:25 it was probably hydraulic fluid
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
Maude is saying everything I am thinking about this show. I hope that everyone but Qimir is dead at the end and anything that comes after is just following him and where he goes.
Yeah when obi wan said Vader was seduced by the dark side Leslye, I don’t think that’s what he had in mind 🤣
I don't know what part of all this is a laughing matter but then again, I'm a first generation fan and I used to care.
13:23 Maude outs herself as a better Sith than anyone in this show. I find this highly attractive. Call me. 😉😉
Momma I Love you ! P.I.P. hold it down. 😮
Maude hates this show. LET HER OUT.
2 episodes left... 30+ minutes each. Still other questions that need to be answered... there is no way there is enough time to explain properly the importance of "unknown planet." So, I'm leaning toward it means absolutely nothing. Scars on Qimir's back mean nothing. Come back and like this comment if I'm right.
We probably assign more meaning to "Unknown Planet" than they meant it to have, but I wouldn't be surprised if they drop the name (or heavily imply one) for people who will either recognize the name from discontinued lore, or it's allusion to the one Luke ended up on.
🌪️ unfortunately, because of the show I had to go back and do some research on the history of theJedi and of the Sith. The Jedi council if they have a part one that leans towards the dark side or does not pass from Padawan to a Jedi get sent to a different division where they “ take care of “ The ones that do not become Jedi whether they put them in a workforce environment or send them back home I’m not sure what I do know is do not just let them go away on their own. They keep tabs on them. So whatever happened with Qimir it was pretty bad. by the way, this also comes back to OSHA. Why did they not keep tabs on her?
sorry but like 80% of Maude's criticisms of supposed bad writing or quirky plot contrivances is applicable to literally all of Star Wars, even the OT. this show is being held to a different standard. I think it's the constraints of the disney+ budiness model finally catching up with and fatiguing some people
I think it's held to a different standard because of its budget and scope. Yet it feels small, narrow-focused.
Let's compare it to House of the dragon, I feel it's appropriate to do this because:
- both set about 100-200 years befor main timeline
- both about powerful groups of people that are mostly existent in main timeline.
But HOTD does a much better job at establishing it's world, making their characters feel like they are powerful. The Jedi are comparable to the Targaryens as both of their groups are so superior to the rest.
But in The Acolyte, the Jedi don't come across as the mythical beings that I'd personally want them to be because the show hasn't done anything to establish them as such.
@TheBmw4545 like the helmet, this shows you get what you bring into it. If you expect X and get Y you are bound to be disappointed, but YOU did that. Why compare something that does exist to what will never. I say jugde the art for what it is and not what we want.
and she's right 80% of star wars is bad writing or childish at best...
Yeah. Bad writing and acting. Hamill was cringeworthy. I remember wondering where on the street did they pick him up? It is all a part of the fun.
THANK YOU!
El Buenos 🙂
I will say this for the show: It keeps one guessing, but not in a clever "Ooh, I wonder what that means" way. It's more like a "Get to the point already" way.
It’s more of ohh another secret…guess what I don’t care lol…cuz y’all didn’t do enough for me to care…
