The location where they filmed the first part (From "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Uncle") is Shadwell Basin in Wapping. It's about 500 yards from the Prospect of Whitby pub (dating from around 1520). In the scene when they're looking for Uncle Albert, Nicholas Lyndhurst is seen leaving the pub. Behind the pub they used to hang pirates and there's still a hangman's noose and gibbet (probably not original). It's well worth a visit if you're in the area (I'm not on commission😂)

A few weeks ago I asked about David Jason's scar on his left temple on Google and there was a link to an article that said he sustained it while filming an episode of A touch of Frost when he was 78. This episode clearly shows he already had it filming this series...So I guess I'll never know how he got it... Oh well...
