This is nice work, and better than replacing the fender entirely. But that supposes that one is good at metal fab and mig welding thin steel without warping. I think I'm better off replacing the fender.
This is the correct way to do it. This repair will last many many years. It probably would take just as long to replace the fender. & now you didn't have to spend the money on the fender. When you say fiberglass, I'm wondering if your talking about dura glass? It's much easier to work with. Then filler over it & 2k primer. Great job.
Nice repair. I just cut the rust out of my fender. The metal looks tin foil thin. What gauge metal did you use? Any tips on mig wire and settings would be helpful as well. I hope mine looks half as good as yours when its done.
I bought a TJ fender painted my exact color exact fit for less than $400. Installed it in a couple of hours.
