One of the best videos explaining the Jimny tire questions. Thank you so much!
The Yokohama Geolandar G015 AT comes in 2 variants:
* Passenger (P) spec: It is lightweight, has a less aggressive and a more dense tread design, which is more suited for highway driving. It only comes in black sidewalls. The 215 75 R15 Geolandar in this video is a Passenger spec tire.
* Light Truck (LT) spec: It is a heavier tire with a more durable construction and tougher sidewalls. The treads are a lot more deeper and chunkier and than their P spec variants for more off-road ability. And these come with the white lettering on the side walls. This is why the LT235 75 R15 shown in this video is a lot heavier and a better looking tire than the 215 75 R15.
These tires are great for all terrains except mud because of the straight line grooves in the tread. The Geolandar X-AT tire addresses this issue and is the overall best all terrain tire from Yokohama, but sadly I haven't seen it anywhere in the Indian market. I hope we get some good options soon!
Very good observation.
I wish they offered the LT for R16 too.
Yes the X is an amazing tread, not in the Indian market yet though
Can you help us identify the two, markings on the side wall ?

Great channel. Excellent, balanced and robust information we can all use going forward with the Jimnys.

Thank you so much for such a wonderful informative video. Must've been quite a task getting all those sizes under one roof.
Eagerly awaiting your lift kit video.

Great video, thanks for sharing rotating mass calculation.
GREAT VIDEO THANKYOU FOR MAKING THIS
100th like on the video. Well done. Informative and educative. Keep up the good work.
Thank you
Really happy to see such quality off road oriented content from India. I started developing interest in off road with the launch of Jimny in India. So, really a newbie to the 4*4 side of things. Still, I can understand that you are making really informative and interesting videos. Keep up the good work.
Thank you
Hey, thanks for posting another gem on your channel. I am running 215 Geolanders on my Gypsy King with white letters. And I am super happy with them, have done almost 45k on the odo. Took them to one of the gnarliest of places you can find here in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand. I would definitely opt for the 235 Geolanders again on the Jimny, without a Doubt..... Thanks for posting such great videos again and again. Stay Well
Very good tires
Thanks for the detailed information
Thanks for such an informative video. Just one question.
What about Geolander 235 70 R15 instead of the 235 75 R15. Do you think that will eliminate the issue of rubbing against the flap?
Golden words- ‘happiness it gives you’ 😂🎉
😁
Perfect 👍 analysis.... Thank you giving information on rotating mass weight that impact while driving...
8.4kg of rotating mass / kg increase in tyre weight.
your videos really informative
That’s tons of data and knowledge squeezed into a 15 min video. Keep up the good work.
Thank you
Amazing content.
Very informative and interesting video 👍🏼👍🏼
Very informative 🔥
Any opinion on the Continental ContiCrossContact AT? Personally I find its tread pattern quite nice and aggressive
Thank you so much for this video..
Hi Jaideep
I've put Apollo Apterra AT2 225 70 R15 tyres on my Jimny and they work great. Have you tried them on any of your or your friends' cars?
Great informative video
Jaideep, what about the Apollo APTERRA AT2 225/70 R15 that fits in between the 215 and 235. Are they any good ?
Nice review and you use 225 -70 15 inch on std 5.5j and without lift or modification.
Do u recommend this or 215 -75 , and do u recommend General Grabber AT3 , will they be quire on road
Hi, How much air pressure would you recommend for geolandar 215 r15 on Jimny? Both for highway and off-roading.
I don't know if you're still answering questions
I would like to know if 215s or 235s would cause a wobble in my car?
Also would there be any problems with the suspensions? Tie rod?
(I'm not at all sure how wobble is introduced but I've heard it's caused by bigger tyres)
Hi jaideep, its been more than 2 months you been using 235 wrangler.Any updates? Does it still rub on plastics/rubber. Whats the tyre pressure you figured out?any issue specifically for 235’s while offroading?
Also appreciated your view on appollo apterra 225/70/r15 as it is the only option in 225.
Great content ...thanks
Passionate…. Keep it up👍👌👏
Probably the most detailed analysis available on RUclips so far-very, very informative. I am glad someone carries the potential to highlight technicalities that are yet to find their space in mainstream media! As always, Cheers to the team!! 😃
Thank you
Can't wait to see the final product after the lift kit & 30-31" tyre upgrade.
I really want Suzuki to bring the 5door all over the world. Imo it way more practical than 3 door & with no compromises to it's capabilities.
This is the only time i wish for a 5 door over 3 door 😅
Hahaha
Cant go for a long drive with Famly in 5 door variant, Suzuki Knows indian mentality, No one from here is going for Offroading after 3 month of buying these off roaders, suzuki want High sales number from Jimny too, thats why they try to make it more Practical as family Daily Driver's Car. I will buy 3 door over 5 door if Suzuki Launches 3 door for India.
5 Door is also a Head turner and Really a Practical car over its 3 door variant, but 5 doors lakhs that original Charm of 3 door Jimny . You got more Boot Space But it is less Comfortable than 3 door one. Every inch has been taken out for second Row and boot and second row doors, thus compromising every aspect of original design. Far more better than buying Mahindra Thar, the Fuel Drinker
Great comparison and explanation , Jaideep. It really helped clearing my doubt b/w 215 and 235. Finally, I went for Yokohama 235/75/15 G015 first thing after taking the delivery today. Looking forward for more inputs on suspension upgrade, specially where and how to source it.
Do you think it has slowed down the car with that size?

plz suggest ideal tyre pressure for 235/75/15 with which ride don't become too bouncy

Hi Jaideep, just watched this very informative video ..first time for me..am picking up my Jinny Alpha AT today so wondering whether I should be getting a tyre change..just want to do the right thing for my vehicle..it's going to be used mostly on Delhi roads and of course couple of mountain trips every year..mostly two in the car ..215 or 235, Bridgestone or Yokohama or Goodyear .. would highly appreciate your advice ..and if there's any more information you need from me...thanks
The rubbing considered here is when u just wheel are turned when car is at almost flat surface . But during offroad when suspension completely compresses , I guess the wheels are going to touch more . What's ur take on this ? Had any real life experience ? Do u think car needs a lift kit which can accomodate 235 ?
what will be the biggest wheel size that can be fitted without lifting kit or any other modification within 15 inches rim size?
Superb job sir ji
Jaideep , any 215/75/15 or 225/70/15 MT tyres options available in India now ? Which brands ?
Fantastic vlog , good wishes from Bhopal ( MP ) , on stock Gymny Rims wt Yokohama 235 how about suspension travel ? Will it hit wheel arch top in potholes ?
Hi Jaideep, whats your take on Apollo Apterra AT2 225 70 R15????
Thanks for the info sir . I went for Yokohama 235/75/r15 geolander AT go 15 104/101 S PR M+S tyre . It doing great , I have run 7500 kms with it .
Sir can you please tell that is there any difference in speed of the vehicle as the radius is more of the bigger wheel
I would like to see an FB74 with the largest tyres in this video. Thanks for this, very informative. Also if you fit an 8 inch width rim what offset is required?
Hi sir, Great Information.
Quality video as not everyone can have these much of resources. 👍
Thank you
That oakley holebrooks lens shade is looking nice
Firstly great video again! It’s truly gem of content you’ve created so far in your Jimny thread of videos. So Jaideep, quick one.
If the plastic thing is not so much of a hindrance why could’nt one remove that part completely? I see there are some plastic screw holding that part to the fender. Wouldn’t that be more functionally conducive rather than the rubbing playing in one’s mind?
That’s what I was saying, I could have removed
Decided not to and will let the tire wear it away and make space for itself
Hello Jaydeep, Good rundown on the Tyre Upgrade. Sadly decided not to proceed with the Jimny as we found the costing too high for 4 seats, but suited only for two in real terms. However letting go of the 4x4 option and the Jimny, and for only a Lac more thinking of more Comfort, Space and a bit of Luxury, will be looking at the Kia Carens. In view of which, could you suggest an upgrade size for the same as it comes with a 205-65-R16 and feel a larger profile would do the trick. Look forward to our views.........
There is always a scope of upsizing by one to get a better road confidence and a plush ride.
JK Tyre is the most underrated tyre in India. It would be awesome if you could feature them since they are cheap, Indian-made, and come with 2-year unconditional warranty and 3 years of conditional tyres.
You guys should also consider H/T's.
I've got 235/75 R15 H/T's installed on my Jimny and have nothing but positive things to say about them! I've taken them off-roading and they do a pretty kickass job!
Happy off-roading!
I would pick an AT over any HT any day sir
Super video. Will go for the yoko 215
I am taking my Jimny Delivery next week, I am gonna upgrade the tyres for sure.
I am not going to take it for any off-road track. But just for the sake of stability and looks I am going to change it.
1) My question to you is should I go for 235/75 R15 or 215/75 R15 ?
2) On a sharp turn with bumpy India road, does it hit the bumper or the inner cladding ??
Plz reply as I have found your videos most useful, just counting on you
i want to upgrade in ertiga it has 15'' alloys .. tire 185/65 r15 rite now!!! to 205/65 r15 h/t. what u suggest?
Can i pun jimny alloy on bolero as i want to keep tyre size of bolero stock i.e.215 70 r15. Will they work or not
Too good a review!!
Excellent explanation❤, sir in recommended size MT or AT is available in any tyres brand?
Loads of options in AT
Hi. Enjoyed the informative video. Can u suggest the best upsize tyre for the toyota hilux. I plan to have a 2 inch lift kit installed. Am still looking at all options available but found the profender lift kit available easily.
Both profender and ironman will be available easily
285/60/18 if you are retaining stock wheels and 285/70/17 of you are changing wheels
Hi Jaideep, the one concern I am feeling against the 235 is that I think you won't be able to use snow chain with those with stock suspension. Right?
The Jimny will be getting a lift kit very soon. Just waiting due to no stock availability as of now. 😁
Very informative. Does it require to recalibrate the speedometer with 235’s?
On paper , there is a 5% reading error. But never really felt the need of recalibration. One starts to remember the variation 😁
I m searching for 205 / 80 / R15 all terrain tyre for Jimny. Where can i find it?pls let me know
Excellent explanation. Suggest if you can let us know the tyre pressure to be maintained for these diff sizes.
That would be a loooong list and will vary by load and application as well
Nice comparison this man is looking like Anna 👍
When is the white jimny coming ?
If we change the tyre size to 215 or 235, does the warranty will be void? Can anyone reply
Excellent explanation, thank you for helping make the decision. Kindly also advise the right tire pressure for Tarmac with YOKOHAMA 235/75 R15 GEOLANDAR

grateful for your response. Thank you so much. Regards 😊@@TreadTrails
Hi Jaideep, Thanks for explaining how the tyre behaves at the front. Is the 235s not rubbing (at rear) on full flex? Please help
Not much rubbing in the rear with 235s
What Tyre pressure to maintain in Yokohama 235?
There is what I consider to be the ideal tyre size for the 5 door JIMNY, especially with the extended wheel base as compared to the 3 door version. Unfortunately they are not available 😡 it’s the 215/80R15. The ground clearance increases from 210 to 226. Does not add too much unsprung weight. Geolander makes it in the AT category !
Don’t think it is available here though
@@TreadTrails it’s not, any suggestions as to how to import it ?
Exceptional......
The best all around on road/off-road tires is the Open Country AT3
i have seen a video where the 215 yokohama touches under articulation, so how is your 235 not rubbing? did you test it properly or just speaking from light use experience?
In a sold axle, everything including the stilock tires will touch since there is barely any limit to the articulation
So rubbing in a solid axle vehicle is very subjective
Good rich 215/75R 15 rate? Is it delivered to kerala?
Your Reviews on Continental 215/75R15 & Apterra 225/70R15 Pls
Good vlog dear sir. I am using Yokohama 235’s white letter ones on my Jimny. That rubber small flap could easily be removed. There are just 2 small screws. You talked about no acceleration response loss, which I tend to disagree, in fact it’s the same feel when I had these 235’s on my earlier Gypsy too. Adding 235’s does make Jimny sluggish when going uphill ( I mean the initial throttle response) . And at higher altitudes (passes), it’s even more sluggish. Hope you clarify on this matter. Thanks
Yes, easy to remove. I wanted it to get trimmed on its own 😁
Awesome video as always!! What abt Yokohama 235/70/R15s? They won’t rub the flap as well’ albeit at the cost of white letters which is unfortunate :((
Hi Treadtrails. I have one doubt. Wouldn't 245s or 31 inch tyres rub even more/possibly on metal parts of the jimny due to increased diameter?
Yes the 31” will
That’s why we need the lift kit as well
Where can i get bf goodrich 235/75/r15
my only qualm with 235s is the lack of room for snow chains. ill be using my car in snow for atleast 5 months a year. dont have the budget for a lift. a
ny suggestions?
Bro which is that geolander model white writings
Where do I find bfg ko2 - 215/75/15
Hello sir. Very nice detail you provided. After watching your video i get my jimny lifted and went for 31/10.5/15 tyre. At first i didnot feel much difference in performance(may be I was too excited by its look) but later i found it too be very heavy for the engine to run with, the milege also dropped to 9.5 to 10 ltr/km. So i think its too much for the jimny to handle 31 inch tyre. Whats you sugestion?
The 31” is definitely on the heavier side but no way is it too much. Will need ancillary mods as well like a nice ecm remap or a pedal tuner at least.
I am not a pro in vehicles, but I had a question. How is possible that 195, 215 and 235 all three are fitting on the stock rim? I mean is it normal or its some jugaad?
No jugaad, that’s how these suv tall sidewall tires are
