    This is a tip I learned a long time ago when using sprays. 2 or 3 copper bb's in the bottle. You can buy a big plastic jar of them at WalMart. They mix the spray like the cans of spray paint to keep from clogging or mixture from separating and settling to the bottom.

I got my India Inks on Amazon, too. I didn't put as much ink in mine and they work for me so I'm good there but I may try to add more and see what effect I get. Thank you!! I love 'em.

    If you can find a lime green with a warm under colour then it can be used to darken down purples. Greens are a red spectrum subtraction, so different dyes can add notches to the spectrum which will be most visible as a colour removal on a saturated complimentary. A lab grade spectrometer can be useful for paint mixing.

    I use my spent printer cartridges and squeeze them out into a sprayer but use 70% alcohol with a drop of soap in it. Usually there’s tons of ink left in ink jet cartridges cus all the modern ones use microchips that count the number of prints instead of the level of ink. Even if not, you can get a set of old CMYK ones on amazon for like a dollar each.

Used with dip pens because of course they are ink. And one lady I believe Cathand is her RUclips, shows how to use them with alcohol for special effect.

  • @CoxJoxSox

    Tim Holz's site has this notice about ink sprays - what do you think about this? Is this safe?
    Note: Ranger does not recommend using Adirondack Alcohol Inks, Metallic Mixatives, Snow Cap Mixative or Alcohol Ink Blending Solution in spray bottles as these contents contain alcohol and should not be airborne.

    • @jenofevedesigns
      @jenofevedesigns  9 лет назад

      Nick Doe I really think anything that is sprayed should be used with care. You should use your own judgment based on which product you are using to make spray inks. Let me know if you find any more info on it! Jennifer

    Thumbs up, Subscribe? Dang, you get those just for that "ridiculously adorable Accent"!
    Seriously though, Nice Tutorial and good product information (although I think it may be hard to find that 'pray' bottle :P). Oddly it appears to me that the inks are beautifully opaque and also bright at the same time and I'm certainly digging that... I'll definitely be making one set with distilled H20 and another with Rubbing Alcohol for some mixed media projects in the near future (finding your video was good timing on my part!)
