What a great idea, executed extremely well! Great job! =D
Thank you so much! We so appreciate you guys checking out what we are working on!
We love when maker RUclips inform one another!
Your failure is what makes it a brilliant and inspirationaly unique piece of art
Thank you David!!!
Wonderful! No, no...incredible!
LOL!!! I see what you did there ;). Thank you much!
Great book nook. Love the design. Very well done Brian.
Much appreciated David!
👏incredible job
Thank you
GENIUS, pure genius as always, never considered ueseing acrylics with water to get a nice natural weathered look. thanks for the video, loved every second of it my friends
Yes indeed, it's a great way to get the streaks!
Lol as soon as I saw that episode of Tested. I knew you’d want to try it.
LOL! Yeah, my brain exploded with ideas after I saw Norm build his.
Indeed, exactly he made it by Test.
What an incredible hobby you've discovered.
LOL! Right??? Thanks for watching!
That is amazing... just... wow!
Thank you so much!
"What an incredible project you've built."
The k you very much!
Absolutely beautiful brother!!!
Thank you Alan!!
Easily the most entertaining maker on RUclips right now.
WOW! Thank you so much!
Simply AMAZING
Thank you!
Wow! That is an incredible piece.
The sides are to beautiful to hide between books. It’s more a stand alone piece.
Love it.
Greetings from Munich, Tom.
Thank you Tom! Really appreciate it. (Loved visiting your city by the way, cheers!)
so awesome! Also, I love seeing all the things you can do with a laser cutter. If you've got it, use man!
That's the plan! Thank you!
Noticed that you changed the video style. Minus the music, the booknook turned out to be straight outta a galaxy far, far away! 🔥🙌🏽❣️
Hi there, what did we change? Thanks for watching.
Hi there, what did we change?
Great stuff, nice to have all the equipment. 👍
Thanks 👍
So much detail! And man, that turned out awesome!
Thank you very much! So glad you liked it!
Awesome brilliant cool great 👌
Thank you David!!!
Beautiful piece.
Thank you very much!
Over the top my friend, WOW, WOW, WOW!!! You know what I'm going to say, I WANT ONE!!!!!
LOL! Thank you! So glad you like it!
WOW! That is amazing! Nice work!
Thank you!
I love how in the intro he switches between shots of himself, which is easy to do, but then actually puts them both together for the final scene in the intro
Thank you! Had to set it up ;)
@@TheSmugglersRoom Awesome!
Awsome video brother!! Glad your back!!
Beautiful work!
Thank you! Cheers!
AMAZING DIORAMA!!!!
Thank you!!!!
This came out so good! The added trash. The weathering. The design. The lighting. It's all great! And you know, a little lasered 3D plaque with the, er, corrected quote, done up with some Rub n Buff and screwed on top to cover up that unmentionable bit might look really cool! No one needs to know you didn't plan it that way from the start to make it stand out! Actually, you could maybe do that with a some of the other text on top too to make it all look neat and cohesive?
Thank you! That is a great idea for the lid. I may have to do that instead of recutting it. Thank you!
Beautiful ! Good job 👌👍👏
Thank you so much! Glad you liked it!
What a great job!!!
Thank you! Cheers!
It's a great job... not a failure...failure is giving up on yourself.. you never have or will. You keep giving me inspiration to keep looking up and make something out of nothing!!
Once again, an amazing job!
Thank you so much!
I only found this channel last week, I’ve been binge watching all your videos since then!
Just incredibly beautiful work and your enthusiasm and humour dosed with humility is inspiring to watch. Thank you so much for sharing your passion
Thank you very much! We really appreciate you joining us!
So cool!
Amazing as always. I get asked for tips often when I paint something from the SW universe, I always tell them the same thing, LAYERS. That's what makes it real. 75 layers of 60 different shades of the brown.. lol Also the idea of painting the back of the acrylic of that death star shine is brilliant. These book nooks have become quite popular.
Thank you Dan!
I'd love to see a tutorial on setting up the illustrator workspace and how you make sure you have the right dimensions before sending to the laser cutter. I do most of my design work in lightburn but I do have experience with illustrator but never for precision design.
Awesome job. I built a trash compactor diorama out of EVA for 6"figures that I use to throw all my scraps in.
Awesome!!!
We forgive you Brian! I laughed because I knew something was wrong but couldn’t nail down why. :D Great work!
I couldn't believe I did that!!!! You should have seen the face I made. I am already cutting a new lid . . . I just can't live with it!
The Smugglers Room I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve gotten up in the middle of the night and removed an offending piece or scrapped an entire section of a build because there was something wrong and I just couldn’t live with it. At least 11 times.
This is amazing! I am so jealous. I wish I had a laser cutter because I want one so bad.
Thank you! It's a treat for sure. Many years of skipping starbucks and an extra beer to get it :)
Brian, let me try to inspire you a little bit further... next book nook project... instead of an infinity library, take that same concept and do an infinity Death Star trench with red 5 on approach. Would be looking down the back side of red 5 down the length of the trench allowing you to light up the engines and R2... could mount the nose of the x-wing to the back of the two way mirror making it appear to free float in space and using peppers ghost you can even add laser bolts and small impact explosions over the face of the trench...
There you go, inspiration sent and gauntlet has been dropped... keep doing what you do you amazingly talented geek!
I have those two playsets, still sealed. If I remember correctly the two sets came in a case together. I found two cases on a toy pallet at a Wal*Mart years ago. I grabbed one set for me, the other for a friend. I never saw these in the stores after that, only at dealers tables at various conventions over the years. Glad I got them when I saw them.
Yeah you bet! I had to purchase them separate. I always wanted to build a display for them, until now I hadn't been sure how I wanted to do it. Now you need to make one!
I am getting me a set of those machinist blocks - they look cool too!!
Awesome! You;ll love them!
FREDDY!!!! must see Nightmare book nook for halloween...
Right??? We would love to build one!
Awesome awesome awesome.... you did it you inspired me too!
WHOOOHOO! So glad to hear, thank you!
Miss-quote or not.... Its a badass build brah!
Very cool!!
Well done. A wonderful way to display a set of figures in a way to showcase them in the best possible way.
Thank you Wayne!
Great books there. Got most of those myself... maybe I need a booknook too..
LOL, thank you! I agree, good books . . . and you should certainly make one!
So cool, I love book nooks
Thank you, we do too!!
Looks amazing brother.
Thank you!!!
Amazing! I saw Jen Schachters book nook on Tested and immediately thought 'trash compactor', with the books crushing in from both sides, but this is far beyond what I had in my mind. I think the hard, precise lines of the empire needed the laser cutter. Maybe the Rancor pit or cantina could be done quite convincingly with more handmade methods?
You're really not helping me reduce the size of my to-do list.
Great work smugglers.
LOL, thank you Luke, and sorry for the added project list ;)
The sad music lol! 😂
Looks awesome man! 👍
LOL, thank you!!!
@@TheSmugglersRoom 🤣🤣👍
That is amazing and awesome work man!!!!
Thank you! We really appreciate it!
Amazing! Love it!
Thank you so much!
As if I didn’t already want a Glowforge! 😫
LOL . . . sorry not sorry? :)
Insanely well done and the acrylic is perfect for this.
Thank you very much!
This is so great 👏👏
Thank you Ivan!!!
All is forgiven due to the awesomeness that you bring each episode!
LOL! Thank you my friend!
Looks great. Working on some for my favorite movies as well. Thanks for posting.
Awesome! Would love to see what you come up with!!
I think you should give the toy/model part itself a wash and drybrushing. Bring out those details and give it depth. Your work has all this lovely texture and depth and the model just looks flat in comparison with its flat skin tones. Chewys fur in particular would look amazing with that extra step.
Though I know that is more miniature painting territory.
we actually dulled the trash at the base with some oil based black, it was too shiny and needed to be flattened so it blended away.
A Nightmare on Elm Street book nook?? Please do! This one turned out amazing, great details and planning! Wonderful! I mean.. Incredible!
Thank you! Yes, we will have to try a Nightmare on Elm Street version!
Beautiful, inspiring and professional execution! ❤️
Love the themed book nook you nailed it. I have been wanting a laser cutter for years now .
Thank you! The laser is certainly a game changer.
It’s pretty epic man
I love your content and I hope to get making again when the kids are a bit older and I have a little more sleep and time (yeah yeah - I know I'm kidding myself). Please let me know the music you are using - it's amazing with headphones.
Thank you! One of the reasons we can do so many projects is not having kids, so I could only imagine how busy that keeps you! The music we use comes from Epidemic Sound. Great site with amazing artists!
Simply stunning! I've wanted to build something like this for a while. I have an idea in mind, just don't have the time.
Thank you! Really glad you like it.
a small basic project beats a project staying in your head. simplify your idea and make something...ANYTHING...out of nothing!
@@deanallenjones 100% agree Dean!!
I think the quote can fall under "Artistic Licensing" too. :)
🤣🤣🤣 love it!
I love it and I forgive you May The Force Be With You
LOL! Thank you much!
Even though not in same universe id be very interested to see a nightmare book nook. Excellent job. Yes the styrene and foamcore would be great for those who dont have the laser cutter.
Us too Michael, and we never said we were exclusively a "Star Wars Channel" . . . so . . . sounds good to me ;)
nicely done, and all is forgiven!!!
Lol, thanks
Gorgeous this is! Love it I do.
Wow just fantastic i always love the vision and imagination in order to bring the details to life. Just love it!
Thank you very very much!!!
Nice intro👌
Thank you, glad you liked it!
I've been watching quite a few book nook videos, star wars ones included. And how did I not see the obvious! The trash compactor scene was made for this. Great build!
Thank you! When we decided to do the compactor we said the same thing “why hasn’t anyone done this?” Lol
It's like in the movies where the item on display seems normal but the experts know that it isn't correct. Sort of a true Star Wars fan test. I've watched every Star Wars movie, TV shows, and many novels and comics and I didn't even notice it. I failed the test. At least you noticed it when the video was published.
LOL, I was horrified when I saw it! If that had gone up without me pointing it out it would have been way worse! LOL
You've bested yourself! Amazing job.
Thank you much! Glad you liked it!
That is incredible, truly impressive work.
Thank you so much! We really appreciate it!
I would like to say this build was wonderful, but it was incredible! ;)
LOL! Thank you very much!!!
What a wonderful/incredible book nook you have created :)
LOL, thank you, and I see what you did there!
This is so awesome man! And wow I think it would be a crazy party if there were two Brians! I think the world might only be ready for one Brian LOL Great video man as always!
Thank you much good sir!
Execrable
didn't like it huh?
Thanks bro! I’m so building this! I’m getting it free from doing homeschool! I’ve gotta do one themed towards the empire’s holopad from rebels!
Awesome!!! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Another awesome build! Love it! Especially the extra stuff you put into it. Nothing generic about that! The LEDs and death star walls really make it looks exciting!
Thanks for another great video Brian! Can't wait for the next
Edit: all is forgiven! Lol
Thank you Jimmy! So glad you enjoyed it, and certainly glad to be forgiven ;)
Brian, Great job on the Nook! I did see Norm's version and yours is just as good!
Thank you! We had a lot of fun making this one!
@@TheSmugglersRoom looks like you did! I like the split screen brian
Great video. Filming and editing are outstanding. Awesome build, great detail. Mahalo for sharing! : )
Thank you so very much for the kind words!
Beautifully done. May have to do this myself.
Thank you! We hope you do try making one!
Well...you COULD have fixed it. Did you run out of photons for the laser? I love it!!! Perhaps you could fix the simplistic factory paint on the figurines in a future episode?
We will certainly fix it. Simple fix actually, but by the time I noticed it we were almost done with the editing and there just wasn't time. That said, i have already made another lid ;)
Don't worry about the miss quote man your work is amazing!
When you said dianoga, all I could think of was Mark Hammil's story about when he asked George Lucas on the set of Star Wars "Pardon me George, could this be dianoga poo-poo?"
Han got the line wrong....
I love how you painted the etched recesses with the gun metal and left the gloss black! Brilliant. I wish I’d thought of that for my droid socket.
This is a great idea and a better outcome. I, once again, bow before your talent and skill (and Glowforge).
Thank you so much Deanna, really appreciate it!
The Smugglers Room I shared some pics of my, finally finished, droid socket with you in Facebook Messenger. Not sure if that’s the best place, or if you check that account.
It needs an Obi-won and a Darth Vader book end and an R2 and 3PO trying to stop the compactor book end on either side to keep the books together.
Great idea!
shadow box of side view Of yoda's Hut With luke, Yoda, R2D2 surrounded by a Resin Swamp n trees would be a wicked Idea
That’s a great idea!
@@TheSmugglersRoom for sure. I'm getting pieces together slow to make a star type diorama. Got some stuff . gonna get some star wars micromachines soon
Dude ! I was just thinking about these !! I am loving this !! I want to make a Table that doubles as Jabbas palace floor Complete with Rancor !!
Yes! That is a great idea!
Damn that’s cool I’ll try and take inspiration from this but instead of episode 4 it’ll be episode 3 or maybe even make small little dioramas with each section being each episode e.g: episode 4: trench run or trash compactor, episode 5: Luke vs Vader, episode 6: Luke vs Vader or the falcon escaping the Death Star while it’s exploding behind them, episode 1: duel of the fates, episode 2: dooku vs yoda or anakin and obi, episode 3: anakin vs obi wan, rogue one: Vader hallway, solo: either Han trying to go through a tight space with the stolen speeder or with the falcon escaping the maw
So many great ideas!!!
You are forgiven!
LOL, thank you!
Awesome, as always!
Thank you so much!
Wow! Great job, as usual Brian!
Could you use some miscellaneous old circuit boards for your parts bin, I'm thinking possibly for greebles or something?
Also, no reason the same templates you used with the laser cutter couldn't be used with hand and/or power tools, just might be a bit more tedious.
Thank you Harley, yes, circuit boards would be a great add. You are also 100% correct, you could do with with other tools, a dremel would work really well. I think i may need to make another in that fashion. Thanks for the idea!
@@TheSmugglersRoom Just a heads-up, I dropped you a note in Messenger re: the circuit boards. A rotozip type tool would probably work well also as a laser cutter replacement. Cheers.
Let’s all get over it, and move on to the goodness.
Get over what? Did we miss something?
@@TheSmugglersRoom The mis-qoute. Sorry, should have said that. The project looks great! Mistakes are part of making stuff.
I’ve always thought it should have been “A wonderful smell” :)
LOL, thank you!
I would personally weather the figures up a bit, specifically the bright white stormtrooper armor. They are sitting in a trash after all :p
Certainly a great idea!
I'm surprised you didn't put some red acrylic behind the upper section of the rear door to illuminate the lights that are supposed to be there. Overall, great project.
Yep, i know. It is 100% the one thing I regret. I had intended to leave a 1/2" behind the rear of the box to run the lighting and in my haste to build I forgot and glued the "door wall" to the back wall without leaving the space. Super bummed I did that, the red leds would have been an easy win. I may have to add that, because it bugs the heck out of me!
