Can you imagine sitting down with a few friends, grabbing a guitar, strumming an A chord and having that moment lead into the creation of a song as amazing as this? Seriously, how do they not pat themselves on the back. AMAZING song (and album) and amazing performance.
From my own experience of song writing, not saying I'm as good as these guys lol but generally I think most artists struggle to actually see how good they are because they're typically perfectionists and so whatever they make isn't good enough, it can always be improved and there will always be things they're not happy with. To everyone else it sounds amazing but when you know every single aspect note to note you can spot the imperfections quite easily. It's like athletes or racing drivers, if you tell them their lap was perfect, they will almost always disagree and say there was areas that could have been improved. It's all relative to how skilled you are basically. In my experience I only ever see how good my stuff is years later when I've forgot all about it and I come back to it almost as a listener and not a creator. It's only then I can enjoy it and appreciate it for what it is. But at the time, because I'm such a perfectionist, I would actually go on to hate my music because I would never be able to achieve this perfectionist idea that I had in my head. It's really an endless pursuit and most artists are like this to one degree or another. Chances are, they might have kinda known it was a good song, they obviously felt something from it, but they wouldn't have had any concept of how good. It's rare artists know how good they are in reality.
@@justamanchimp Well, we've had a lifetime of being told we're not good enough. If people were more accepting of above average intellects and creative quirkiness, the musicians among us would not beat themselves up so much and drink themselves to death.

This accidentally became the song of someone I’ve been in love with all of my life. We kissed to this song in his car that one time during quarantine of 2020 - it feels like it’s a memory that never happened sometimes.
@@TheIceyeddy he had someone he had a fling with at the time but we were friends since we were kids. We were neighbors, went to same schools, college. The day we kissed it was unexpected for both of us. We seemed to be going towards pursuing something but then he found out he got her pregnant shortly after. Communication declined, his life became work and coparenting; we haven’t seen each other since August 2020. He is a good man, I just think it was right person wrong time.

True. Thom left the concert unfinished and that night wrote fake plastic trees... For this reason Jeff Buckley lived thinking that Thom Yorke hated his music and performance. By the way, Thom Yorke had covered Tim Buckley´s song for Jeff "SIng a song for you" ruclips.net/video/0JfY-40k68Y/видео.html In the next albums Thom forced his falsetto to new places.
@@kmtungstall759 false. They had already written fake plastic trees and tried recording it couple of times but it did not feel right to Thom. The night that they saw Jeff is when Thom discovered how he wanted to sound for this song and what he learnt became integral part of his vocal technique. Thom essentially discovered an aspect of his singing through Buckley that night.
If, even after this battle, they tell me I can live on, I'll go and buy a small mirror somewhere and practice smiling. I'll practice over and over so that I can see him once again.
everytime i listen its amazing the memories of when i first heard the song and now what it means, the true meaning of an artist outside of society, government, and social strains, the strength that takes. Th realization of the self , joseph Cambell and Yung , the contribution is immeasurable
Brad Query So are many popular contemporary musicians, I don't see your point. Just because someone isn't showing all their skill doesn't mean they don't have that skill at all.
One of the many beauties of this song is that it sounds like 6 songs compiled in 1. Thom Yorkes voice, energy and delivery is phenomenal. I don't want to call him an Ex he's more than that.😔 I never gave Thom Yorke/ Radio head a chance bc of my 💓 he'd told me his 1st love liked them. So I completely pretty much shut them out in my head besides the songs that I knew..
(that were popular.) Now that I've given them a chance only since breaking up & recently him making a playlist for me which i believe is public ''for being such a crappy friend'' look it up on here RUclips under "Sycamore shade" do i now GET IT. I FEEL IT. I HAVE A HEAVY ❤ HE KNEW THIS. if there's anything Sycamore shade is good at which there is a lot but making a playlist is definitely at the top of the list. Along with a lot more but movies and music yes I definitely trust his judgement should have all along... But as conor oburst once saying " you will" I hope we get that chance to boomerang back 2 one another but rn the timing is just not right. We both have healing to do. Oh btw yess three talking at the end stopped the Tears and i got a good laugh. Thanks AK
Amazing version definitely one of my 100 favorite radiohead songs. Yes, Colin Greenwood looks high AF !!!
He looks ill. I’m not sure he blinks at all on camera.
Highs cool takes you to some fucked up places 👊
coming back again, this is still my favorite version of this classic
11:13, in here again
They're so great!!! Super underrated. They Play this so clean, just like the album.
This is the S#*t!! You either have it or you don't. These guys have it, and this version is awesome! Love it!
This song has been one of the most beautiful songs in my entire life.. I’m sitting here playing along to the video on my guitar.
Colin halfway through a song: "I forgot I was even playing"
This accidentally became the song of someone I’ve been in love with all of my life. We kissed to this song in his car that one time during quarantine of 2020 - it feels like it’s a memory that never happened sometimes.
Are you still together? Hope it worked out!
If depression was visible, this is it
Yes but if its real you have it
and you shouldnt
@@vincentbrannelly8786 how?
"It wears me out" used to ring deep in my bones in my early 20's. That is a magical time for most people, but no one escapes it's complexity, and struggles.
This song is like having a cuddle after falling down. Awesome 😎
I could listen to this day & night...Great song great band!!!
hi are you there
One of the few songs that will still be listened to a hundred years from now...because there's no way humanity will be in a utopia.
So true. I recommend you "So Young" and "One Day" by RED CAN. They are on Spotify but their videos are pretty cool though. Lyrics and music are amazing. Found them a few weeks ago and wanna see them grow
My fake plastic love...
I dont know why but this song makes me sad automatically. Love you Thom
Cryzel Jane Bobiles quit being sad
Life is too long
My favourite lyric of the song was at the end when Thom says "Fucking nah I hate this guitar."
Hey you might like a band called The Doublejumps if you like Radiohead. It's different but similar in ways. I can hear a bit of a Beatles influence in the both bands which is great cause I love them too ❤
Was lucky enough to have seen them live back in 95 just after they released the bends played every song from the album and a few from Pablo honey fucking amazing
I am 20 years old now, and i am so lucky to know this song since 2016 Class radiohead
How could ive missed these songs,it hurts the most
One of my fav' Radiohead's song... It's been years I haven't heard it...
I came after seen a ramdom proposition of 1st Radiohead's Creep @ConanOBrien show.
Thank you sooo much for uploading this gem, reminding me so many deep feelings & memories!!
July 2019 and I still love this song . Great voice Thom👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻☺️. Never get old.
When I'm down I love listening to this song . Love it
I recommend you "So Young" and "One Day" by RED CAN. They are on Spotify ;)
"When I'm down"....feels like i have always been down...was born to lose, so i learned to lose rather than live in quiet desperation
I listen to this and I think to myself this is perfect music for imperfect people, as I am.
I believe that Thom found inspiration for the falsetto vocal after the band went to see Jeff Buckley live one evening,
Makes sense, Buckley’s falsetto and ability to hold a perfect note forever is legendary. Also I’m a year late, if you’re still alive. Lol
All true
@@kmtungstall759 false. They had already written fake plastic trees and tried recording it couple of times but it did not feel right to Thom. The night that they saw Jeff is when Thom discovered how he wanted to sound for this song and what he learnt became integral part of his vocal technique. Thom essentially discovered an aspect of his singing through Buckley that night.
Pretty sure it's the other way round
0:25 when you pretend to sleep then check out if someone is watching you
1:57
For a minute there, he lost himself
XD
wow ! tremenda calidad de sonido... muy buen archivo todos los canales esran bien definidos.. fue como estar en el estudio
Years go by and I keep coming back to see this video. Just love it!
Emotional improvisation AND flawless vocal precision.
A expressão facial do Thom é tão profunda, que é inconcebível não sentir aquele aperto no peito...
"No offense ed" -"Naah it's.......fucked up...."
one of the greatest song ever! Pure talent! pure sound! pure voice!
the look on the bassist's face ._.
Anton Miguel Neri lol if you watch the other live sets you'll see he's chiefing a J lol
Colin’s face never changes
@@Xxjoseph1029xX cheifing a J?
looks more like smack
He's on drugs
I love the ending bits of these studio sessions where they just talk to each other
If, even after this battle, they tell me I can live on, I'll go and buy a small mirror somewhere and practice smiling. I'll practice over and over so that I can see him once again.
Beautiful, haunting, melodic.
We need music during this friggin pandemic! Long live radiohead.........
here here paddy
Amazing one of my favorites . So much emotion . Beautiful from the heart
Feels like a warm bed I like that.
everytime i listen its amazing the memories of when i first heard the song and now what it means, the true meaning of an artist outside of society, government, and social strains, the strength that takes. Th realization of the self , joseph Cambell and Yung , the contribution is immeasurable
no need for autotune. computers.. etc.. this is real music played by true musicians.. hauntingly beautiful..
Radioheads 4th record Kid A featured music made on a laptops and synthesizers.
I know that... Their experimental album . but as u well know . the entire group are well accomplished musicians
Brad Query So are many popular contemporary musicians, I don't see your point. Just because someone isn't showing all their skill doesn't mean they don't have that skill at all.
We only need ok computers, I know this is from the bends but still ._.
Kid A is incredible and definitely by favourite album from them.
First time I heard this song was on entourage when Vince and Ari had a moment in a hangar bay. Great song!
One of the many beauties of this song is that it sounds like 6 songs compiled in 1. Thom Yorkes voice, energy and delivery is phenomenal. Regardless of what the true meaning of the lyrics actually mean if at anything at all, “she looks like the real thing”… I think we can all relate. Wether it’s she or he.
2022 e continua sendo uma música maravilhosa de escutar, amo tocar ela no violão 🇧🇷
2023 too
This song and this band takes me directly to the year 2003, it brings me back to the love I lived in a few months. And to this day I haven't recovered. I wanted to go back in time and kiss that man again. God only knows how much. Kimoti.
I love catching up on all the great performances I missed back then.
I think this might be a "Reelin' In The Years" video.
What makes you think that? 🤣😂
Yeah probably
You sure?
Really? Doesn't look like one
Bold statement. Can't tell. No solid evidence.
The ending XD
Oh Thom
The Bends has been my lullaby album since I was 15. Thank you Radiohead.
"If I could be who you wanted, all the time" frase que nos rompe
It might be weird, but i can't sleep without this video playing in the background
don't even know how many times I've watched this..
Probably the best there has ever been so far these guys mastered the art of music .
