ABOUT THE 80TH GOLDEN GLOBE® AWARDS
One of the most influential voices in comedy, Jerrod Carmichael is set to host the 80th Annual Golden Globe® Awards.
The three-hour telecast serves as the official kickoff to the 2023 awards season and will air live coast-to-coast on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT from The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, on NBC and Peacock.
The Golden Globe Awards is one of the biggest nights on the calendar for live viewing. It's also one of the few awards shows that combines the honorees of both film and television.
Produced by Dick Clark Productions and Jesse Collins Entertainment in association with the HFPA, the Golden Globe Awards are viewed in more than 210 territories worldwide. Helen Hoehne is president of the HFPA. Jesse Collins and Dionne Harmon will serve as executive producers.

@@DM-it1qf first of all, if one was to refer to her as they/them it would make no sense to most, as they and them are usually referring to more than one person. At least that's what we were taught in English class.
Second. I have heard they/them complaining lately about gender appropriation in acting roles. Example Halle Berry playing transgender when she's not. So I would ask how is it okay for her to play the role of a woman if she is a they/them. She took a good roll away from a deserving female. Or doesn't it work both ways?
Third just because she refers to herself as something she is not does not mean the rest of the world has to ignore the obvious. But I don't care I love her in the show. She is actually my favorite character.

Congrats to House Of The Dragon cast and crew for making it happen. Miguel obviously had big shoes to fill and a tough job to take so well done. Emma looks so beautiful and very nervous, Milly as well looks stunning and excited. Both amazing actors, love their portrayal of Rhaenyra Targaryen.

@@MAFion it happens, he already did episodes from the original series of GOT and now he just co ran season 1 of HOTD. Sapochnik is probably extremely fatigued. Also he didn’t leave he’s still an executive producer for the show.

The acting in this show is soooo crazy good. Literally every cast member understood the assignment, but imo Ewan Mitchell and Matt Smith steal the show with their screen presence alone. Appreciate greatness.

By all the laws of westeros as the eldest trueborn son of viserys, it is aegon who is the one true king of westeros. Just because King viserys decreed his daughter as his successor does not make it so. To paraphrase Queen cersei when barristan selmy said about Roberts letter naming Ned Stark as regent. "Robert is dead, Joffrey is King now" of course people are going to agree with King viserys, because he was king at the time and had the power to be head them, but when he died, those in authority righted that wrong. Remember, King Edward named his cousin as his heir over the true heir Mary I everybody agreed because it was a smart choice and then after he died they promptly chopped off Jane's head and placed the crown on Mary's head where it belonged

Only Emma and Milly and Sapochnik at the table? Who were the other people there? Not surprised George was not there but usually HBO sends a show runner like Ryan Condal (heck even a few more cast). Sapochnik seemed a bit dazed ,not mentioning Condal or George. I guess Sapochnik was available and in the area , thinking Milly came on her own or at the urging of her publicist. Saw Emma on the Red Carpet but don't think they showed the HotD table once during the show.

@@matthewlee4697 I'll break it down. So, essentially Miguel has a wife that works on the show with him. She is a side character actress, but more importantly, a writer/director. HBO did not like the work she was doing and a lot of fans speculate she only got the gig because of Miguel, hence nepotism. HBO did not renew her contract and Miguel threatened to walk if she did not stay in the production. HBO said bye bye.
It bummed a lot of fans out, because Miguel directed some of the best episodes of GOT and THE best episodes of HOTD. His specialty is battles and fight scenes, which is basically what season 2 is comprised of in the story. It's such a shame.

How this beat Better Call Saul and Severance is beyond me. HotD is fine. Its high-budget, okay television. BCS and Severance are original, sharply written, and incredibly shot. They beat HotD in every relevant category.
