As an entomologist, Bugs to my eyes, in my mind and soul are the most perfect, beautiful, powerful, adaptable, dangerous and truly fascinating creatures in Nature. Insects are always changing, adapting, mutating and evolving towards becoming the most perfect organism. They can come in an unimaginable number of shapes and infinite variety of species, they can be in many sizes, have many, many bizarre and beautiful colors and have amazing patterns on their bodies along with having such fascinating and wonderful behavior characteristics. (I could go on and on, but I think I'll stop there, however I will say this). All hail The Bugs for they are The true Kings, Queens, Warriors and Monsters of The Earth and through out all of Nature!!!!!!
@@dillonsimpson3833, beetles, flies and mosquitoes are my personal favorites. Anyways. Since insect life itself originated from the seas, it weren't surprise that if they were to go back into the oceans, they'd no doubt become it's new apex species. Don't you agree, my friend.
Definatly, do you think they would take the diving beetle approach and as the various insects adapted to umderwater life, they would soon evolve specialized legs to act as propellers or a more advanced swimming?
What a real cool interesting documentary, but I never got to see my favorite beetle which is the rihnosorus beetle, I know I spelled it wrong my spell check couldn't even figure out what I was trying to spell, Rihno for short.
Not gunna lie I really like this but I gotta say, dude… out of ALL the beetle species available to comment on, this dude stuck to that dung beetle for a HOT MINUTE bruh 😂 like damn lol ok we get it moooovveee along sir
What we find disgusting they call ordinary life. Imagine spitting poop on a home invader. Walls made of poo. Imagine living underground in such conditions
I was so amused by the tunneling dung beetle larvae. They're like 1940s ad-men for poop. You can eat it! You can plaster your walls with it! You can even use it to stave off hungry predators!
24:30 The often unseen sax playing beetle, can be found poking it's head out of the dark recesses of the underlying leaf stratum, pouring it's soul out to the winds, and calling to a lonely mate.
England. The 'lady' next door was going to stand on a male stag beetle. I suggested quite strongly she desist. I reached over the fence and gave her our dustpan and brush. Upon rescuing 'Fred' I showed her how dangerous it was by letting it crawl up my nose and into my hair (there isn't much). Fred then took off no doubt in search of a lady friend for his 'hoggins'.
There's a beetle here in the UK that looks like a bird dropping; wonderful camouflage. I have to say when he said "1600 beetles on a single pile of Elephant dung" it seemed a little fanciful. Unless of course Elephants excrete by the wheelbarrow full.
They actually do. Haven't you ever seen a pile of elephant poop in any documentary? By the time you see little bits of it everywhere occasionally in shots, it had been trampled and eaten up. However, a fresh pile is a decent amount. I could easily see that many in the higher end of number of beetles for elephant dung. Add in the fact that most elephants travel in groups.
Sigh, the bazillion ads is a bit tiresome, especially if you're binging these episodes like me.... No, skipping to the end and going back doesn't work for me. I'm not sure why, but I've tried several times, several ways. I still enjoy the videos though. I simply wish they'd mellow out with the ads.
When trying to erase the ads by skipping to the end - are you allowing the last 15 or so seconds of the video to play before hitting replay? Try that if you haven't, because running the video straight to the very end without allowing those few seconds to play usually does not work for me. Hope this helped. 👍
Lovely video in many ways. However, a bug and a beetle are two different things, which the narrator seems not to know.. A beetle belongs to the order Coleoptera and a big Hemiptera because its wings are only partly hardened. a bug has piercing, sucking mouthparts and a beetle normal biting jaws like many other insects. And who says they have been around essentially unchanged for millions of years? Genetic entropy means they (and all other living things would be extinct through error catastrophe long before that.
Why are the tribe people shooting and killing giraffes?!?!!! 1 poisonous arrow can kill a giraffe in 30 mins don’t you think they’d go for a less exotic animal lol 😂 I hunt and I wouldn’t shoot certain animals if their exotic I feel like there’s def enough reg game to kill 🤦♂️
Thank you, great video but, I hate hearing the B.S. numbers, 439,000,000,000 or 640 million years ago after 439 billion years, give me a break. Creationism makes so much more sense and there's an incredible amount of proof for it. I want to hear the truth ! If you don't know the truth, don't make up these huge numbers, bc you think with massive amounts of time, these stupid theories sound plausible, for instance 999 zillion years ago, nothing exploded and made everything.... No matter how much time you appropriate for the big bang, and all the other ludicrous theories you must brainwash children into believing it. It doesn't pass the sniff test. The same way our children are brainwashed to believe democrats are the only ones who are right, and that couldn't be more wrong. They'll be brainwashed into voting to becoming socialist's, they'll vote to lose their freedom, they'll vote in dictators to enslave them. The department of education is positively evil and they teach rubbish and worse... Every day I see more proof that earth was created 6,000 years ago,. by the all knowing, all powerful GOD, There are reasons to use those huge numbers, for instance I can name a billion different reasons that convince me that GOD made it all, including the earth and everything in it. Instead of using any of the many scientific facts, I'll just give you this, 3 years ago a 7 year old boy got separated from his father in a mountainous area out west. It was a warm spring day and the young boy was only wearing a short sleeved, light weight shirt, jeans and sneakers, when he discovered that he couldn't see or hear his father. His Father frantically searched for over an hour and then left to enlist help, everyone was concerned because the temperature was rapidly falling as the sun set and then it began to snow.. Many more searchers came after hearing of the boy's plight, they all knew if he wasn't found soon,, he would freeze to death. The search went on all night, in the heavy snow and freezing temps. Amazingly the boy came walking toward a searcher at 9:00am, the boy was shaking with cold, the searcher bundled him up and asked him how he managed to live thru the night ? The boy explained what happened and the searcher asked the boy to show him where, and at a near by pine tree, the man who found the boy, saw it for himself and took the pic's. The boy told him that when it began to snow he sat down under the pine, he was freezing and he couldn't keep his eyes open, later on he felt warm, when he opened his eyes he couldn't see in the dark, he went back to sleep, in the morning right before he was found, the boy was awakened when the two huge elk, that were sleeping next to him got up and walked away. The man saw the spot where there was no snow and melted snow around the edges where the elk, kept the boy warm and shielded him from the snow all night. You don't often hear of elk hanging out with humans, I see the Hand of GOD in this.
I have learned better than to try to have a rational conversation with a creationist, so I'll just say this: the only brainwashed loon here is you. I will however agree that the educational system is indoctrinating children for political goals but factual science has nothing to do with that. Just because you don't understand how science works, doesn't mean it doesn't work.
it was killing me not knowing the whole story about beetles, thankyou for this
I just adore the Whole Story series!
It's truly a wonderful and enlightening video that we all can learn so much about creatures that share this planet with.
I love this entire series!!! 🙏😁 thank you for sharing this with us
Hell, I remember when the 'Beetles' first hit the pop music circuit back in the early 60's.

Your videos are the hallmark of nature documentaries. Thank you! ❤
Oh and I'm a entomologist in the sense of me studying, observing and analyzing The Bugs. While also going out in Nature to look for them.
Do dung beetles get 'time and a turd' working Saturdays ?
God sure made these animals so creative and amazing!❤

I really enjoyed them too, to bad you couldn't find more episodes
I saw the thumbnail and thought this was Gordon Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares 😂
I'll never forget the first time I saw them on the Ed Sullivan show!👍
Somehow dung beetle behavior makes more sense to me than most human behavior.
God Has an Inordinate Fondness for Beetles
Is that Terry Pratchett?
I can imagine HIS sense of humor also:)
We can learn a lot from nature. The larvae of the tunneling dung beatle plasters the walls of its house with its own feces. Interesting idea! 17:37.
