When I heard this song, as others have said bellow, my first thought was "Its sooooo Bowie". Thats not a criticism, I mean, he must have been an influence on Alison. I love the way she shifts to minor notes. And the lyrics are also, vague enough to project so many meanings into. Gives me a shiver when I listen to it. Amazing.
Watched her perform this last night in NY and she stopped after the first few lines because she was thrown off by the silence of the audience. It was a stellar delivery and a beautiful experience from this genius .Album of the year , guaranteed !!

Alison, more of a lyricist than any other poet. Her music, her lyrics, her singing are hauntingly touching and beautiful. Albeit, there is one line that I do not understand: "skip a grace note on your heel"...what does she mean by that? I don't get the picture. Any thoughts?
