Watching from Oregon. My wife and I are working on our open water certification and I’m already hooked. Planning some local beginner lake dives and we’ll rent gear at first, but I’m already researching for when we’re ready to buy. Your channel has great information and I’ll be checking back. Thanks for the reviews!
I personally would have put the Hollis ST-22 travel wing in the Cressi Aquawing's place. They are similarly priced wings, but the Hollis has a more adjustable deluxe harness, more D-Rings to customise your kit layout and generally felt more secure when diving with it. Don't get me wrong, the Cressi is good, but I immediately preferred the Hollis when I did my first dive with it.
I don't think someone who wants to change to BP&W should get a back-inflate BCD. They should get a BP&W. Why waste your money on a halfway BCD instead of buying what you want?
Good point. I see a lot of divers talking about this, and there are a lot of different opinions on it. Backplate and wings have a lot of advantages, as I'm sure you know, but there's also a lot of setting up and adjusting. I think many divers like a simpler system, and this is where back-inflate makes sense.
good review :) The Atomic is... well it's expensive, and it feels it. It's like riding in a plush luxury sporty car. Cumbersome and feels heavy but looks cool - I _do_ like the way the material doesn't hold water. You're dry moments after getting out of the water. As far as quick dump weights go on the Biolite - I have similar weight pocket on my SEAC BCD, haven't had any issues with the clips, I've seen a lot more people failing to clip their Atomic/Cressi/'pull handle' type weight pockets though. If someone is inclined to pass weights back up to someone before climbing onto a boat, then the system will be awful unless thy put the weights in a little back - but that is very much an edge case.
Personally I prefer a basic hogarthian bp/w, al skeleton bp, double cam band, with replaceable inner donut bladder, dump valves, weight and trim pockets, lots of D rings
@@GeorgeDeVillar Sorry. I was replying to comments for another video, and somehow got into this one. I was wondering quite a lot about this question. Okay, that sounds like a great choice for a fantastic trip. Indonesia has some of the best diving I've ever had the pleasure of doing.
@@DIVEindotcom I agree. Did Lembeh last year and Bali/Komodo in the past. Looking forward to the trip since I only do one far Pacific trip a year. Really enjoyed your video, found it quite informative.
@@GeorgeDeVillar Nice. It's been a lot of years since I last went to Lembeh, but that is a great place as well. Once a year with this kind diving is the right priority in life 👍 Thank you, that's our goal, and I'm really happy to hear that it's being received this way as well.
Regarding Cressi wing… One size Does NOT fit all. Extremely short hose. They use the same Hose as for standard jacket style… so yes, the hose is Extremely short so it’s not fit for all. I have been diving it for 20+ dices… Short hose, extremely low deflation… Marketing Scam. Ps yes I contacted Cressi and here is their response The length of the Hose is the same as our traditional series. It's longer than all those hoses used from the other brands for BCs! Same jacket style hose for a different concept of BCD… Shame on Cressi

I am quite happy with my Scubapro Hydros Pro. Great for travel. Always enjoy watching these videos for info on other products. Thanks.
Good choice!

If you’re revealing the plate adds a lot of weight and space

Thank you because I really wanted some more information on the Axiom i3+
Glad we could help!

That's a great set up as well. We're in the process of testing Bp & wing.
Great product review
Glad you liked it
Is that Fantasy Lake? I love that place.
Yes, it is. Fantastic spot.
Any thoughts on Hollis ST Travel or the HD Pro Compact?
Do you mean the Hollis F1 LT or F2? I haven't heard of any ST fins from them?
@@DIVEindotcom I was referring to BCD's, not fins. In any case, purchased the Hollis ST22 Elite Travel for my upcoming Bali/Komodo trip. Thanks,

Hi There,
We're testing backplate systems atm. so stay tuned for the update later this year.
I love the atomic bc2 is the best ❤
Thanks for sharing!
What about Dive 1?
We haven't tested it, but when we do, we'll update with a review.

BC2 price way too much
It's expensive, yes, but Atomic is well known for making long-lasting dive gear.
A Bouee Fenzy mark 6, blows this rubbish out of the water on safety grounds alone.
I'm sure it does :)
