Fender P(rison) bass.
That's fucking awesome
That's the one, got my vote
Steve Whyte I feel like that one is probably gonna win
This has to win!
Prizizzon has a little gangster lean to it!
Also did anyone notice the guy playing along on the air drums in the background in the first song
Jonathan Long it was the ghost of John Bonam
Yes... his name is Andrew Airstick
AirBonham
@5:18 notice the guy playing Bonham air-drums in the background.
Today, 23 years ago, we lost a true Blues Icon. On June 14,1995, we lost Rory Gallagher to post-op liver transplant infection. The man was only in his 40’s and just hitting his stride in the Blues world, mind you, kind of inconspicuously. Thankfully, his life’s work is out there on vinyl, CD’s, DVD’s, and of course, RUclips. A great blues guitarist, who is and will be missed. Just another addition to the Great Gig in the Sky. 🎸🎸🤘🤘.
Michael Wojciechowski
I SAW HIM PLAY LIVE
A GREAT PERFORMER
CARLOS GUITARLOS USA HIGHLAND PARK L.A. 90042
Wow, i remember hearing about Rory's passing then. My neighbor came out early one morning while i was going to work to deliver the news but i would have forgotten the date until now. That Irish Tour 2 record set was awesome.
That sound... 59 - 64 precision are the quintessential basses for me. The midrange in those instruments is so throaty and perfect. Love it.
Well said! I have MIM Pbass that I'm trying to coax this tone out of. The midrange is perfect
The Executioner's Axe.
Axe Victim
Happy THUMPIN' Thursday
everyone! "The Convict!"
or, "Black Death" or, Death Row!"
the Reaper's axe!"
One of the best sounding P basses I ever heard (and most beautiful ones)
Felony Bass
5:16
That guy must listen the "The Song Remains The Same" version :)
Man that thing's got more vibe than Jen's sock drawer.
You are awesome and Jen is cool. Thanks guys.
This one has definitely been played.....but it definitely sounds cool.....someone will buy it and play it some more.....👍👍
Damn. Killer tone. Killer growl. Killer bass.
"Felonious Thump"
brianc1701. WINNER
I love #ThumpinThursday! I'm also a bass player, so there's that.
The air drummer in the back is rad!
Lol the air dummer was killing it in the background lol mark you all ways kill it
P-Bass For Life (without the possibility of parole)!
Great demo Mark! Black Mamba Bass...GOTD is the best! 🤘🏻⚡️🎸
Wouldn't "Killer" be appropriate?
Dazed and confused finally thanks mark your the best
#ThumpinThursday #1959FenderPrefin 🔥
1) Dazed and Confused/Led Zeppelin JPJ
2) Peter Gunn/Duane Eddy
3) Detroit Rock City/KISS 🤘🏻
awesomeness @markagnsi Hi Jen 🎥🎸
Mike M. Peter Gunn is by Henry Mancini
thanks Mike
Brandonio Granger yes, he wrote it. I love Duane Eddy’s version 👍🏼
Geoff Gyro 😂👍🏼
I got 1and 3 but two was a mystery. What should we name the bass?
Why not call it Mark.
Killer tone on this one
NAME: "Black Dahlia"
The precison killer sounds like a great name ! 😆
Clearly it's an "O"Fender P Bass.
I'd call it ''the inmate'' Thanks Mark and Jen! :-)
Wow, man. My Thursday wasn't thumpin' at all, until now.
Jen is great! 🌷 doing good in sales Mark ✌️ thanks
Them Thumpin' Thursday Blues really make a day seem fine! Well that and a Maton maybe?? Gotta do a Maton!
He is really good with the pick!
It's a post-moderne world
😒
I call it the "Four-String Slaughter Machine." :D
It's a Folsom Prison Bass. Still sounds good though. It definitely isn't a collector's piece, but what a great player.
Song 1: Dazed & Confused - Led Zeppelin
Song 2: Peter Gunn Theme - Duane Eddy
Song 3: Detroit Rock City - KISS
Andrew Pappas nicely done!
You know, out all the guitars Mark did, this one of them where it has a pretty interesting backstory, I mean he did others with some backstory but this one is quite interesting
12 o'clock, I gotta rock
Respect for some vintage Kiss Mark!
I can dig it.
As a bass player i say how can you not play a bass with a pick, the real sin of the bass playing world is playing slap
I play with both fingers and pick, but why it would be bad to play slap?
Aaron Laorrabaquio Frank stalone invented slap therefore it has been a deadly sin since the dawn of time
The guy playing air drums in the background gets my vote today!
1959 Bailbond Bass
Sweet bass!
Paul McCartney, Chris Squire, Carole Kaye. What have these bass players got in common? A pick. They all played with a pick. Sometimes John Paul Jones did too. John Entwistle used a pick on My Generation. It's a sound.
Wow what a crazy story.
That P-Bass sounds killer, men!
Circle on the first fret is from a truss rod repair? Probably stripped out the anchor.
Exactly what it is. Truss rod either broke, was frozen or stripped at the anchor so instead of doing it right (removing the finger board) they just dug it out, replaced it and filled the hole.
Maybe it was a place to hide his weed!
Bullet hole
...
Exactly.
Crack pipe burn. (repair)
It's my sometimes weekly I want a bass day. 😎
Hi Mark and Jen!!!
We need more bassss!!!!
Hi Dudes thank you for your entertaining & quirky demos.
Name of bass "Scratchblack"
How about "State's Evidence"? Or "Hell's Bails"?
mark i like the sympathetic string buzz it has when ya play dazed and confused!!!!
Rosewood board with clay dots are very cool.
There needs to be a bass of the day show
For get that coolest bass they’ve ever had...I still want the couch.
Guilty pleasure. Gray bar bass. The pokey p. The 5th commandment . Hellbound.
That air drummer in the back on Dazed and Confused
Mark is hilarious..and a great salesman
very cool story , getting the led out and some kiss , rockin , great sound , a true rock and F&**ing roll axe , call it black patch killer , or I actually like Fender Prison bass better (good one jeff) . well done guys , excellent thumpin Thursday.
Really nice tone using the fingers. Flat wound strings?
I'd kill for that bass
OK, bass not found on the website. Why state that you can view this, (and all the rest of these guitars), @ NormansRareGuitars.com, if it is not on the website?
truss rod replacement indicated by the circle thing on 1st fret? i think so at least.
5:17 Air drummer in background plays John Bonham
Dang that thing sounds massive
Keeping with the vibe of the playlist for today, what about "The Gallows Pole" or, "Lone Gunn man", or lastly, "Kiss of death"?
Killer Bass
I'm spooked before you even play it!! P-Bash
Slabenstein
Midnight Slaughter.
PROFILING LOL
I'm loving John Bonzo Bonham in the background! :-). Air Bonzo
The “Not worth what you’re charging for it” 59 Slab Board P-Bass.
Look at the guy air drumming in the background!
Cual es el precio de ese bajo
What is the price of this bass
I'd be Dazed & Confused all the way to Detroit & HAPPY!
The 25 to Life Bass
The black mamba!
I love playing bass with a pick
What was the original color of this bass?
Hello from Detroit Rock City
Ha! I so want that now.
It's those sympathetic buzzing open strings for me
Lol at the air drummer guy behind you
Name: The Black Dahlia
Martin Gray nice
PROFILING LOL
Thought of that...hard to top.
Martin Gray

Done!...
I live for Thumpin’ Thursday.
“Sunshine’s Blanket”
Cause in Folsom Johnny could hear the train a comin but he ain’t seen the Sunshine since he don’t know when....
Cool Hand Luke.
How much does Norm want for the air drum set?
Great looking bass. The Convict would be an appropriate name, I guess.
Did anyone else notice the sympathetic harmony from what I guess is a sitar in the room?
5:18 LMAO the guy in the back
Two questions, looking for answers. Who was the original owner? I have a friend who does murder podcasts and she would absolutely love this story. Who the amazing air drummer in the back?
All I could think about when you told the story of this bass was Edgar Allan Poe’s story “The Tell-tale Heart” so maybe a good name for the bass would be “The Tell-Tale Heart Bass”
The wood patch seems like they repaired the truss rod through the first Fret
Songs:
Dazed and Confused-Led Zeppelin
Peter Gunn Theme-Emerson, Lake&Palmer
Detroit Rock City-Kiss
A lot of good suggestions...not original, but Murder Bass sounds awesome.
Nice air drums dude
How about the Cold Slab, Agonal Rhythm?
5:20 look at the air drums in the right hand corner
