I had the lens completely apart without and then after watching a few other videos, I finally came across yours. I have the lens back together! The blades of the aperture seem to be a little sticky though. Oh well! I’m happy to have it working “somewhat okay.”

Hello Very good video!!! Do you have any video of Canon nfd zoom? I have a 35 105 f3.5 macro and I can't get it back together and get the aperture to work. It only stays wide open all the time.

Hello. I did everything exactly the same as in tutorial (about 50 times), and everything is fine till final locking: there is no way to set two red dots in the same position - the mount rotates and blocking about 7 millimeters earlier. Any ideas what to do with this problem?

Hi thanks a lot for your tutorial
I had an issue with the diaph stucked , I cleaned the blades but dismount the middle and inner helicoid
Unfortunately I didn't do marks like you , I managed to set the middle helicoid and count 6 turns, then I put the middle like you and the helicoid key, but every time I test the focus, the middle helicoid go out to far and I don't know how can I fix this and I can't do focus on infinity
    Thanks for the help

Hello, I have a 35mm f2 nfd that the aperature ring will not change the iris (even with adapter, other nfd lenses work). I bought this broken hoping I could fix it. Do you have any videos that might help me?

Is this applicable to the 50mm NFD 1.4?

Hello, I repaired the aperture blades by myself but made the mistake to not set marks and now the aperture blades closes too far in. Do you have any tips to adjust this the best way?

Hey :) Maybe you have already fixed it but I though I'd write for other people who might have the same problem. At around 36:52 he talks about how the holes are not complete round. More of an elongated circle shape. If you fasten the screws on the wrong side of the elongated circle you will end up with a too small aperture opening. Especially noticeable at f22.
So just loosen the screws a little bit and adjust it so that it ends up on the opposite side of the hole.

There's a known issue with canon FD lenses focus ring, that has some metal rollers with rubber that dissintegrates over time, but I watched your video several dozen times and I can't really see anything like it. Do you know this issue?

Great video. I've been looking at Canon FD 17mm lenses and was wondering if it's the same process to remove the front element in those. I see some that are marked down in price because of dust or haze, and as long as I can easily remove the element and clean it then I am fine.

I've been trying to search for an answer to taking apart the front lens element for the nFD 17mm f/4 and I can't find anything anywhere :/

  • @choschoschosrecsachoschosc2211

hej Kenneth.

Can you help? I separated the helicoid on my Canon FD 55 1.2 SSC (non-aspherical) without having documented the angle/number of turns to remove/reassemble. Now I cannot get the focus assembly put back together :(
