I live in southern Nevada near Lake Mead and I go to Utah as often as I can. Probably the most beautiful state in this part of the country. Love it in the air or on the ground!
I’ll never get to experience that irl, but thank you ever so much for bringing us along. The stunning beauty of creation laid out before you is simply breathtaking
This is a really impressive video of the incredible Utah landscape. I mostly enjoyed flying through the ravines. Really awesome camping areas for sure. Thanks Ryan!
It is so satisfying to see and hear your pleasure with the flying you are doing her in the West, Southwest. So amazingly different than PNG. The scenery is Truly amazing. A number of times past when I flew cross country for work related duties. It thrilled me to no end to have my face plastered to a window seeing the incredible beauty of the southwest. So many areas were as beautiful or more than the nearby Grand Canyon. I think Utah is close to the top of all states for its natural wonders. Fair skies Ryan.
I loved the drone footage on the plateau. I would like to see a little more of the airports you visit like Page. I flew into there once and saw the world’s largest collection of Cessna 207 Skywagons. We flew over the Grand Canyon twice. Sadona is a beautiful stop but not backcountry. We met at Oshkosh. I’m the older gentleman you sat with by the Vintage area and you showed me your checklist box and we talked missions.
Stunning country. You're having the time of your life- good to see. You continue to inspire. My son did his solo flights 2days before Christmas- is so excited about flying. You've been a great inspiration and mentor. Thank you.
You have earned another subscriber here. AND, I will purchase your kodiak e-course to support you. I've been all over Utah and the west but you see places humans can't get to without wings. Very well presented videos ! You should have many more subscribers for this good quality of content, pilots or not. Happy New Year !
When I developed Squamish for the sim, I made all of the sandbars on the river flyable for the bush pilots. I'm going to have to give these spots a go...looks super fun. Awesome video!
Am I the only one actually concerned about how this type of flight is more challenging in terms of safety than regular ones ? It's got everything I try to avoid for now as a pilot: flying with multiple other light airplanes, improvised flight plan, minimal infrastructure, a lot of guess work in terms of weather and wind conditions, and most scary of all: friends involved. I'm more in awe of Ryan for handling all of it than for flying over PNG.
I was so surprised when you said that it was just the most beautiful place you thought you'd ever seen. I can't imagine that anything would be much prettier than Papua New Guinea! I spent many years driving through the desert for a living and I know that it has its own beauty, too. But, ... I am still a fan of the green stuff.
Thanks Ryan for a really cool tour of the Utah back country. The landscape is really beautiful and it looks like such a lot of fun going on a flying safari. Really awesome day out. All the best to you and yours as you continue your journey into the new year and I'm looking forward to your next video. 👍🙂
Gosh you are having fun Ryan.Thought I was watching " Mackenna's Gold" with José Feliciano's Old Turkey buzzard on the soundtrack.Beautiful shot of the butte.
Wow, Ryan! That's got to be some of the most amazing scenery I've seen on your channel. Great places to camp for sure! Thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Spectacular scenery, outstanding editing (multiple cameras, drone footage, how much off camera work goes into a such a well done video?). This was really good. Thank you for you have given your fans in 2022. Happy New Year 🥂
@17:00 I was just about to say the same thing when I left out of Mexican mountain this summer it was hard to keep an eye on my departure because the view leaving out of there it’s only the most pilots ever get to experience. Great vid
After viewing several of the Kitfox videos and not being familiar with the plane, I checked to see if a sim model was available for X-Plane. It has indeed been available since 2019 and is now in my sim hanger. Thanks for the videos- I'll continue to follow in X-Plane. Blue Sky Blessings!
Really enjoying these videos Ryan. I'm giving a lot of thought to getting a Kit Fox. It doesn't help that the Kit Fox factory is about 6 miles from my home. 😊
Hey Ryan, I am so glad you are getting to enjoy owning and flying your KitFox and being able to have all of these amazing new experiences! Getting to rejuvenate from the mission field and be around fellow Americans. God is surely blessing you. It is quite clearly apparent He blessed you with an awesome wife already! Happy New Year!!!
This is such a beautiful landscape there! But before takeoff you always should pray, not to loose an engine! Emergency landing there simply is mostly impossible. Does your plane have a parachute, like the European microlight aircraft have? If not, maybe a good idea to retrofit one?
(((Ryan))) that was amazing flying, and oh, such gorgeous views! Definitely God's country. Not sure that we are actually seeing it in all it's glory like you, but it's breathtaking. You have a wonderful camera, because the picture quality is stunnjng. Thank you so much for sharing your love of flying and the wonder and beauty of God's creation all around us. May He continue to watch over you all as you pursue more adventures. God bless & keep you safe. 🙏 ❤️
How about if every of you all backcountry pilots carry a spare windsock. If you come along a strip where the windsock is damaged you replace that sock with your spare. Material cost is minimal. Your service to the group is great.
Ryan you should get yourself a pair of flying eyes so you don’t have to wear you sunglasses angled like that - flying eyes sit right underneath the earcups of your a20’s and don’t block the seal or disrupt the anr
For the backup Camera, there may be a green and white wire that are exposed along one of the connections. Sounds crazy but the fix to REVERSE THE IMAGE is actually to just cut BOTH the wires. There are a bunch of videos on youtube showing this, but I would feel terrible if that broke your system. 🤔
On the snow covered runway on top of the hill why didn't you take off the other way? It looked like it was uphill both ways from the video or at least it did to me. Was there an obstacle taking off the other way that I just missed?
Some words of warning: Going to such places can be an incredible experience. You're really out in the middle of pristine nature. BUT: if you become ill or injured, or your transportation breaks down, you have a very serious problem. Make sure you tell somewhere exactly and precisely where you are going. Get some sort of radio with extra battery power - perhaps a satellite phone. Bring medical supplies, including pain relievers, antibiotics, disinfectants, anti-diarrheal, something to brace a sprained ankle or broken bone, and anything else you can think of (including anything that can help you deal with snakebites or poisonous bites of any kind.) Also bring plenty of extra water, some sort of shelter, sufficient clothing and, if you can, a firearm. You can't take any foolish chances when you're way out there - bad things happen. Be prepared. Stupid people do stupid things and get stupid outcomes. Don't be one of those Darwin Award contestants. EDIT: again, there are some stunningly beautiful back country places. Some of them do have a 'bone tomahawk' look about them, though. Occasionally you will be creeped out.
G,day Captain Ryan from Sydney. Just a quick question, if I may: what range are you seeing with the Kitfox * Fuel economy * Where are the tanks and Volume Happy New year. 🌏🇭🇲
The approach to and departure from Hidden Splendor never gets old!

Epic video Ryan, what a playground👌I didn't want that to end, truly spectacular👌
There's no scenery in the world like Southern Utah. Spectacular. Nice videos.
I’ll never get to experience that irl, but thank you ever so much for bringing us along. The stunning beauty of creation laid out before you is simply breathtaking
Unreal scenery mate!!! 🙏
Certainly different landscape than Papua 😮
Unreal....I could watch your videos all day.....take care and stay safe!
Beautiful.

The huge smile on your face through most of this video says it all Ryan, love following along.
I think this your best video yet, Ryan. Impressive scenery and flying.
Love the geology and the drone footage. Very enjoyable to watch. Have fun and be safe.
Thank you for sharing these cool adventures! Amazing sites. About to do my checkride soon! Can't wait for my own adventures along the gulf coast!
Good luck!!
Awesome mate, I keep expecting to see John Wayne ride up on a Horse and say gidday to you!! Keep the videos coming…..
You are already so much more comfortable with your plane. Thanks for taking us along.
It looks EXACTLY like PNG without any trees, bushes, shrubs or grass! (oh, and rain!!!)😁😂
Epic landscape and fun aviating...thank you for sharing.
Happy New Year !
Now you're enjoying yourself Ryan! Great to see and thanks for taking us along for the ride.
Hi Ryan, wishing you a happy new year from down under in Aus. That is some of the most amazing scenery! Thanks for sharing!

You are having so much fun and well deserved too! Superb scenery and beautifully crafted videos. Keep them coming - thaks Ryan.
That's some austere and unforgiving country there, but also incredibly beautiful. Thanks for sharing!

"You have to get back to base and install that new tail wheel" said the heli guy :)
Awesome show great view you Shure are having a great time. Have a great new year.
Wow Ryan that was incredible.
Spectacular scenery, outstanding editing (multiple cameras, drone footage, how much off camera work goes into a such a well done video?). This was really good. Thank you for you have given your fans in 2022. Happy New Year 🥂
Nice landing Ryan!!! you sir are getting better
Good video. .
many thanks Ryan for everything this year.. it's been a interesting journey. .
Had an amazing couple days hitting some of those strips and a few more first week of November, gold and green fall leaves.
Scenery reminds me of watching the Road Runner and Wile E. Coyote as a kid. :) Very nice.
Another brilliant video - thank you!
Great views. Thank you for sharing.
Excellent, I love flying into strips in the UK but we have absolutely nothing like this!!
Wow that was awesome! Looks like fun!
Best places you've been so far. Real stark beauty.
@user-db8qv4zh5b let's not.
Pretty country. Thanks for the video.
Incredible views. Great Suff!

what a nice spot to land !!! wow ! so fun too

Excellent vlog, again. I like it when you show the other planes you fly with. I assume the 172 is converted to a tail dragger.
Yes, a 172 converted
Amazing terrain! I learned to fly out of Ogden in a 150 long ago. 😊
Really enjoying these videos Ryan. I'm giving a lot of thought to getting a Kit Fox. It doesn't help that the Kit Fox factory is about 6 miles from my home. 😊
i think this exceeds PNG by a mile. Soak it in! great vid as per usual
Thanks
Thanks....
curious as to how these runways get created
Me too
Amazing scenery! I need to get a kitfox
Sponsored by Ginault, that ain't no Rolex. Wow super watch flexing today :)
Maybe not a Rolex, but it's nice none the less
Too much fun
Beautiful ❤

No parachute in the kitfox
👍👍👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏good job as always 👏 👍 🌹🌹🌹😉😉😉😉
Spectacular scenery Bryan. Many thanks for posting. I'd hate to have to traverse those areas on foot :)
Sorry. Ryan.

@@Garfie1d73 Yep, thanks. That thought did go through my mind but something in the kitchen needed my attention. :)
RYAN,HELLO,SUCH NICE SCENERY OUT THERE,, BTW, HOW MUCH FUEL,DOES YOUR AIRCRAFT CARRY,,,, USEABLE ? Stay well, 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Ryan, come on, let's see the tailwheel install and tryout....
pretty cool how those small spoilers you worked so hard to adhere are still working so well. BTW, do you get any heat into your 'cabin'?
I do have heat, but it doesn't work very well
Where is the new tail dragger wheel assembly?
Two more videos will come.out before I film one with it
That voice sounds like Brandon. Met him at Chicken Strip repair party last month.
Yup from Kentucky
After watching this I’m really wanting to know more about what gets the plane up in the air. Obviously my original theories are all wrong.

@@MissionaryBushPilot you should make your sunglasses really thin like theirs so that you don’t have to wear your glasses like that
Ryan I am in Utah today , I am a truck driver who want to be a pilot some day LOL
Ryan, isn't that Cessna tail dragger a 170 instead of a 172?...tricycle gear is the 172?..
It is a converted 172
@@MissionaryBushPilot ok, thanks 😊
I have MSFS2020 so this isn't that impressive to me. Have you flown an experimental Darkstar? Didn't think so...

We took off down hill. It was about a 3% up hill the other way
