hello from the brisk vibrant ozarks lola and vicki!! enjoyed a cup of fresh hot columbian while riding the ever changing beach while its still free!! tight lines and cheers!!
Galveston is where I learned how to swim from my Dad in the 50's. At one time I used to go down there a lot and do miss the beach. But do like the mountains as well. Oh yes the word free is a gem so to speak. Now I defiantly want to go to the beach. Enjoyed watching this and thanks. Hugs to Georgia and Maine.
That's cool that you learned to swim in the gulf! I was down there once with my daughter and there were jelly fish all over the place. Kinda creeped me out from wanting to get in the water LOL
Texas has some of the best beach camping ! I have camped on several beaches down there. Look like you had the place mostly to yourselves... That is awesome!!
@@LostOnLandAgain .... There is a nice place over by Texas City or if you want to travel get on down to South Padre Island... Way warmer down there!! ;-)
Best time to beach camp is winter, very few people! A shame about the trash, that goes back to people of course! Looked like y’all had a large time! Thanks for sharing! 🌊🌊🌊
Hey there ladies…BEAUTIFUL PICS! Love the drone views. Hope y’all got to eat at Gaidos. Every time I’m in Galveston we never miss dining there. If you like shrimp try the STUFFED SHRIMP. 👍👍 ❤️
Good morning girls 🌞 ☕ I'm not a beach person much, either. I lived about 500 feet from the longest freshwater beach in the world Wasaga Beach and didn't swim once lol. The only walks I took were in winter. For hiking I drove a half an hour to Blue Mountain. Those ebikes look like a ton of fun ✌❤⚔🔥🐴
Cool. You finally made it to my neck of the woods. I grew up with Galveston , Port Boliv er, and Crystal beaches. I now crave the mountains, rivers, and lakes. Hope you enjoyed your stay.
Thanks for posting this! I buy the Bolivar annual sticker for usually $10. If you buy in the early part of the year it’s $5. I lived in Grown for 5 years and miss it! Thanks much!!
I couldn't figure out where one would buy the permit. The sign said a park ranger would come by and collect the $10 but we never saw a park ranger and no one was camped on the side where you need to have a sticker. Weird rules for sure.
I worked Bolivar and Crystal Beach during Hurricane Ike! The nicest people in such adverse conditions! Not sure you make it to Oak Island but Channel Marker 17 has the best hamburgers and seafood and on Galveston Bay. Glad ya’ll had fun! Beach On! 👍❤️🍑
I imagine the trick is to go down when no one else is (like now). Can't go during Spring break which is pretty much all of March and April. Can't go in the summer so May-Sept. Leaves a fairly small window for those of us who don't like crowds. It would be so fun to have all the usual suspects there wouldn't it? !!
I had that spot labeled on my map to check out one day when I'm in that area. Thanks for showing me around there. Looked like a great spot to visit. Does staying on the beach like that corrode/rust you vehicle?
On the way out we stopped and camping in the forest and then Google maps took us around Houston on back roads. So what should have been a 4 hour drive turned into more like 6. On the way back we got caught in a blizzard. We drove for over 6 hours and ended up getting a room for the night, then another hour and a half the next morning. It was an adventure. LOL
Very cool. I don’t think w have real beach camping anywhere in S.C. There are state parks and privately owned campgrounds adjacent to the beach but I don’t believe they offer waterfront camping. Then again, stringing up my hammock on the beach could be difficult! 🤣😂🤣
Thank you so so much for posting this video! I am bringing my cousin down to see the goal for the very first time ever in her life and we are on a budget we have a camper van that we’re bringing with and I was trying to do this as an expense if I can. And I happened upon your video you’re coming down in February. So I’m guessing it won’t be too packed. Again thank you for the video this was awesome and very informative! We are coming from Minnesota LOL wondering where you guys got the firewood? So we know where to go LOL
Oh you are going to have an epic adventure coming down from MN. If you aren't familiar with FreeCampsites.net yet check it out. That's how we found this spot. You are correct that it shouldn't get crowded in February. As for firewood we got it in the DFW area before heading down. They sell it at most grocery stores like Krogers or Tom Thumb. Not so often at Walmart. We got this particular batch at Albertsons. I didn't see any for sale in Galveston. Have fun!!
we have been in corpus christi for the last year but I'm a mountain/canyon camper too and I miss the trees and hikes! Beach camp is very laid back and relaxing though....better in the vehicle because the wind blows tents around so much.
Oh, I so want to go camping here. Yes, the seafoam was entertaining! LOL We are looking at getting ebikes soon. Glad to know you love love yours! Thanks for sharing your experience.
I would love to camp on the beach like that and have those views! Especially when its 🆓!! Something tells me you brought the firewood with you. Did you know if you hit a piece of flint just right with a wrench it will light a fire? 🔥
Yes we brought the firewood. Glad we did cause I don't think they sell much of it down that way. Ha ha ha on the flint and wrench. I may have to try that.
Vicky is loving it! Did you hear that she bought one for Lolapalooza? Had it a week and a guy offered her $1000 cash for it so she sold it. Then bought it again online and ended up getting a $50 off coupon since it was her second purchase. If she keeps selling it she'll end up with one for free ha ha

Me too! I camped down by Corpus and it was super sketchy. A couple of my friends did get stuck. This particular beach though was very hard packed. It would be virtually impossible to get stuck. I loved it! Something I learned from a friend of mine is to get out and walk on the sand before you drive on it and see how hard packed it is. Even with that said though I am a nervous wreck when I'm driving on it.
Thanks. I will only try ones that are hard packed specifier for people to park on for sure. Even so I will be a nervous wreck trying it. But then I'm a nervous wreck going over long or high bridges anyhow
I'm from that area and visited that specific beach. Tides can be extreme. It's also the party beach, most Galveston beaches you're not supposed to drink, so the peninsula is the spot. It's an Ecotric. I got it online. Mailed to me within just a few days. I have had it about 18 months or so now and have put hundreds of miles on it. I love love love it! It is supposed to be able to go 20 miles in a charge but I've never gone more than about 15 between charges. Also they have a new model out now that has a lower bar so it's easier to get on and off it. They cost around $850 ish. I've seen some $50 off specials. This was probably more information than you really wanted. :) .
