Well, they are actually. There was a recent interview in which they stated: "When the music we're currently writing ever sees the light of day, we can start making plans for touring again;' :)
Unfortunately that very short interview was the most recent news that was heard from them. That was in April 2014 In October 2014 BBC Radio 6 Music's 'Radcliffe & Maconie' did an interview with David Baddiel, who describes Dave Gavurin as his oldest friend. He said that "they [Dave and Harriet] are doing music, but whether they ever put that out there, I’ve no idea. They're the most paranoid people about actually putting stuff out there." You can listen to the interview online. But Baddiel only said the two or three sentences I've quoted here. It has been two years ago, so I wonder whether we'll actually hear from them. They released their most recent album almost twenty years ago. I'm still hoping. Since 2014 a lot of bands have been reuniting and making/releasing new music: Babes in Toyland, L7, Belly, Letters To Cleo,... Hope Sandoval of Mazzy Star released her third solo album today. All I want is for The Sundays and Eve's Plum to get back together...
Thank you for the info. The more I consider their self-imposed exile from public eyes and ears I can appreciate their need for anonymity and/or space to just be a family. But come on people, you're not THAT famous. No one really seems to know what the heck they are doing with their musical talents so we're all left to wonder. Is it really my burden to sublimate my cruelly unrequited love for that woman's @#*$%&! silky and exalted voice? What I am saying is, "Hey Sundays, none of us are getting any younger so play your freakin music out loud!" Maybe I ought to place a huge one page ad in their local paper (whatever that is) calling on them to come out and play for us all again. Plead them, shame them, beg them, ask them, humor them, pay them, love them, implore them, tease them out into the light for a bit more. And then when it works we can do the same with the other bands you want to come out again. Just kidding. But not totally.

Yes she is singing this to the creator. Spent a few years listening to this before I paid attention to the lyrics. I'm sure most of us are guilty of that. If you watch the video carefully she's showing you, even in her live performances, that she is singing to him and is very much into witchcraft. She is not hiding it at all. Don't be so surprised because there are many in the music industry.
hmmm... my only guess would be fulfillment. she's married her prince, she's got a wonderful family, she doesn't need the glam and fame offered by the rock lifestyle, so she parts with nothing to sound the way she does :)

The Sunday's best song!! I can listen to this song forever!!
Cannot agree more.
Totally agree, and I have been doing that lately.
True that.
Brilliantly structured for the sound, Wonderful song and talent
hideously underrated band.
Yes indeed. I think that Harriet and David were very shy and really had no desire for major press which does impact sales.
vista7 it’s 2019 and I was just thinking the same thing , there isn’t a band that even ever came close to sounding this amazing in the genre or after . That voice that guitar ..... amazing
I was privileged to see them in the summer of 1993... INCREDIBLE! Still hoping they come back some day but I think it's not very likely... :(
I saw them in '94 in Chapel Hill, and it remains one of my top five all time concerts. amazing. and she was wearing that same necklace, I'll never forget it.
must have been incredible!
wish this song were more known, it's the best thing i've ever heard.
Everyone in the world should give themselves the opportunity to listen to this masterpiece of a song.
One of my favorite songs ever!
credo che un angelo bellissimo viva dentro di lei,una voce cosi' dolce non e' di questo mondo........................................
Her voice is amazing, it has a childlike quality to it, yet seems so powerful at the same time. Gavurin's guitar playing is stunning too. I loved this lot.
Harriet Wheeler voice is mesmerizing. I could listen to her song all day.
Still my favorite pop singer of all time..
I don't know who could dislike this video..
