The song that got me into Big Sugar. Watching Much Music after school and the video came on, hooked ever since.
True...first i saw was Sleep in Late....i was in till now...at 48!
Me too.
I was 16 when 500 pounds came out, I was too young to get into Barrymore’s when you played there but we went anyway and sat on the curb outside. You played so gloriously loud we heard every note. I’ve since seen you countless times but it was that night that I’ll never forget. Thank you for sharing your art with us all. Much love GJ ✌️
Me too , 16 turning 17.
I jam on this song with anyone who will play it with me. And I play this riff as a warm up. Absolute classic.
For a hard rockin' dude you have barely aged at all man. Road miles are hard miles. You still got your vocal chops. Prime genetics.
How did I not know that Gordie played drums... Killer version of this tune! How does the man get this tone
Nice tip of the hat to Charlie on the drums GJ.
Wicked playing, tones, instruments, jam space…..Canadian treasure🤟🏻🤟🏻
Awesome!! Said it before... so glad the OG Big Sugar is back on the radar.... It's the reason I bought an ES335 and a les paul........
I got to drink some Whiskey with you at your cousin Hollys wedding many years ago in Edmonton…Still one of the highlights of my youth!
Two things: 1. You got that Charlie Watt's hi hat thing going on (not hitting the HH the same time as the snare), 2. Those Vistalites rule. Play on, player.
Always has been, always will be my favourite Big Sugar song. Thanks!
Great song,RIP woody
That drummer sure kickin` some ass!! Whoever he is...
that's Gordie man.
@@scottsevertson1803 Ya think?🤪
My favorite Big Sugar tune.
Just the way Woody would have loved it. LOUD.
So glad I was able to see you guys again this past December in Ottawa
I listen to you for 30 years and never knew how awesome you are. Love the new insight on Big Sugar
Amassing, loved the guitar tone on this one !
Just amazing! I had to play Five Hundred Pounds after watching this. Well done, GJ!
Awesome! One of the things I admire about you Gordie is that you’re always reworking your songs. So many musicians get hung up on just playing it like on the record, but you let the songs breathe free and grow!
This is so fun. I'm a big fan, who is *not* a musician, but I do know gear, so I love the stories and descriptions about how you get sound. I share your videos with my musician friends.
The kids still got it! Awesome🔥
Wow! I love it!
You rock Gordy....ty for these vids...luv the music n what your doing!!!
GJ, been a fan since this came out. You are the reason I have a herzog, and gobbs of vintage traynor amps. You sound unbelievable still. Voice is great! Keep inspiring brother!
Another tremendous song! Both Big Sugar and Grady versions are worthy of accolades!! Please keep 'em coming!!!
Totally cool. I want a sound shack. Not sure my neighbours would care for it but so what?
The. Best. Tone. Ever.
KickaSSS!
Classic,,,,,,ride like hell brother 😎
THAT was the first song I learned beginning to end (my family was happy lol)...after my mind was blown wide open at the Commodore all those years ago. GJ explained how KISS blew his mind....Big Sugar that evening steered my musical journey along with their generosity always autographing stuff. Thanks again for this Friday ritual:))))))
I really love this tune. Cheers!
Nice work brother!
The song that was a sign for me to really take up the guitar hard in 1993. 27 years listening to this song and it never gets old.
Oh, BABY! LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!! I love all these remixes. Can we get Motherless Children, or maybe Devil Got My Woman, or a heavy, fuzzed out version of Come Back Baby? ;)
Great stuff GJ! Great video editing and I love the sound. You look like your having a blast haha. Cheers from Ottawa!
That was decent!
I’m glad to hear you mention Billy Gibbons; I hadn’t heard you drop his name before, was almost going to ask. You two seem to be cut from the same cloth. Huge fan of both bands.
One pound Hammer was the album I put in anyone’s car in Cairo Egypt and wait till they say what the fuck is that ???? Then I say it’s big sugar baby , all respect to you and you really changed my life as guitar player years later moved to London with music in my heart thank you 🙏
Please shed some light on AAA ardvark hotel
You used my photo!!! (1:50) Thanks! Keep up these great videos!
Hello from Winnipeg. Any idea if I you (or anyone at Power 97) still have the Studio 97 version laying around? You played a Mandolin or Ukulele (I think?) and did a bunch of songs.
Not that we know of.
Wow Cloning does work, but 3 times as much practice!😁😁
👆😎💨
This song is better than Lucas octane booster in making your car drive faster 🚗 💨👍🎸
GJ for Prime Minister!!!
Gordie are you playing your drums hi-hat just like Charlie Watts ?
Do you have trouble adjust from playing one of your explorers or that big ol' guild when you switch to an SG? I always find my SG feels like a toy after I've been on my other guitars... SG sure do scream though!
I play SO many different instruments that I don’t really notice. In one day I’ll play drums, bass, steel guitar, Trés, banjo, a Flying V and a Strat.
Then do some keyboard overdubs😂
You and your drummer share an uncanny resemblance. Of course, he is a bit shorter
