Man, I lost one fish that cost me a big bass, tourney, and AYO one time. I had the fish beside the boat and was grabbing it when it came off. Haunts me to this day! Drives me to this day too! This all will drive you, and make you even better. God bless!
Similar happened here. In my rookie season I had a chance to cash a check and get in the money. Lost my biggest tourney fish right at the yak. Easily over 7 lbs. Still haunts me to this day. And I have never been that close before. Would have been big bass as well. But another guy caught a ten. 😂🤣

All that matters is having a good time. Enjoying what life offers you. I had a lot of bad tournaments but enjoyed what I got. That’s what I love about tournaments. I learned a lot of lessons.Just never give up.

2 years ago I didn’t have a fishing rod in my house, found your videos online and we now have 4 favorite rods rigged with PLine, trokar hooks, and 4-5 bags of bandito bugs in the box. Your career matters to my family, we watch together and fish together.

Scott, I sure feel you pain, I have had those days where I wish I just did not get out and go fishing....one day I lost my 300$ rod/reel combo in the bottom of the Oklawaha River, and then I lost my phone, and lost 3 fish in the 5-6 lb range...and I went home empty hand! I’m in S. Central Florida - just about 60 miles away from Clewiston but I grew-up in Northern N.Y. - down near Watertown. The announcer was right on when he said that Lake Champlain was the most beautiful place - Anywhere. I camped all over NY for 30 years. The Adirondacks and Catskills are downright “Unbeatable”…

Every tournament angler has been in that same situation you were in. Once it gets in your head is hard to stop it. That's why this sport is so humbling cause when everything works its awesome but when it sucks there almost nothing u can do to stop it

I had the pleasure of riding with Matt on day one at Champlain, that place wasn’t normal. In three days of marshaling, I didn’t get to see one brown fish over 4 pounds. Guys either landed on them or they didn’t. The big fish were highly consolidated rather than years past where they were mixed in all over. Fishin ain’t it… You ever get up to Maine on a vaca.., I will be happy to point you to a 4/5 pound brown fish paradise. And amazing lobstah
