I'm not paralyzed and I don't know anyone who has a spinal cord injury. Your videos showed up on my recommended feed and I started watching them. I love your story, positive attitude, and your perseverance in living a full life. This life is way too short to spend even one day feeling sorry for yourself. If you get knocked down 20 times, then get up 21. You're amazing =)
Same here, and agreed that Brian is amazing! I have friends who have other mobility challenges, and I'm using some of the things learned here to be a better ally for them.
Im sure that by now that you truely are the King of modifications 🏆 is there anything you can not modify..? Veey ingenius You Brian..! You definitely do know how to make things work for yourself... and most likely are capable of doing things that most"abled men" could be doing themselves... proving that you are very motivated and determined to take care of you and your family... and that is something to be respected and admired in any man 👍👍
Thanks Clayton! Yes I’m OCD when it comes to figuring out how to do things or make them work for me so I can ease the stress on my wife. Good to hear from you!
I really appreciate you. My wife passed 2.5 years ago from brain cancer. I happened on one of your videos a week ago. You're a 1,000% right, get busy living.
The stuff that is inside of you and makes you the treasure that you truly are is something to behold and is beyond my ability to fully describe in words. A light and a jewel, you are.
As a future occupational therapist (in Ohio), I want to say thank you for your page. You are helping so many people. It is great to learn ways I can help my future patients by increasing their quality of life. Thanks!
Been watching your videos since I was paralyzed 5 years ago. Your a great help and come up with some fantastic ideas. Thanks for sharing your ideas and journey. You’ve helped in more ways then you’ll ever know.
I'm in a chair from many broken bones and no hip joints. Not a candidate for surgery due to other health issues. Your inspiring. 4 of my boys are building me a handicapped accessible castle. Hoping to move in Feb!
Hi Brian, how are you? Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year for 2021. Thank you for your awesome video. Best wishes for the bright future for the family. Best wishes, from, PaulLaw.
Hi Brian!! Happy Holidays to you and your family! I think your plow is ingenious! And, I bet your wife is thrilled! We got some snow here in the NE but the rain came so no white Xmas. Hope you all are staying safe. Great to see you again and thanks for sharing the video.!
Nice to see you again on RUclips! You are SO SO creative/ inventive... you should bring your story and inventive ideas to Americas Got Talent... show! I m serious you re an amazing resilient person/husband/parent... Your positive attitude needs a wider audience Love that snowplow idea! ps I have my first quantum 600 wheelchair which was built for me (i m female but same size as you apx) with low miles only used in house mostly... when I got my newer quantum jazzy about 4.5 yrs ago I stopped using the 600 so batteries are needed but all else is in excellent shape per Nu Motion of Las Vegas, NV. Original cost was apx 18,500.00 in 2009... I will donate to you for .00 zero $ reply to this comment if you want it we can figure out how to transport fr NV to OH
Hey! Thanks for thinking of me. My manual chairs work great for my needs but I greatly appreciate you reaching out. Have you thought about donating it? I know there are a LOT of people out there that would love more independence that this could provide.
thx Brian for replying... yes I will probably donate it to a new organization in my area Las Vegas Nevada where there is a large elderly retirement community and a need.. A senior started collecting used wheelchairs and walkers ect then he leases the item at no charge to a senior in need until they no longer need the item. a one pg doc is signed just as an informal formality ... it s a win win... I found out that Medicare will replace a wheelchair every 5 five years (possible deductible) if not on state Medicaid. well, take care Brian... good luck with your Channel !
Great job!! Merry Christmas! Do your neighbors want to hire you to clear off their driveways? I think you could ride all over your neighborhood clearing off the sidewalks.
off topic, but maybe you can make a vid with your wife explaining what the hardest parts are being w/ a wheelchair user and how to overcome them. Anyways, your vids have helped me lots since I got injured in 2016. Even went on to get a masters degree since then!
I’ve wanted to do that exact vid for years but she’s a little camera shy. I’ll keep prodding her though! Congrats on the degree!!! I’m so glad you pushed yourself to do it!! 😊
Great video Brian! Merry Christmas 🎄 🎁❤️ Love to see you uploading again. We have snow here too, big storm rolling in as we speak! (French alps) Love to see an update with your little girl as we are looking to start a family too, love those videos. Do you have an Instagram?
Haha yea that’s a bigger deal further south. Columbus can’t even compete with the amount Cleveland gets. And Michigan? Forget about it. Lol Less snow the better in my eyes.
That's such a great machine for you. Another question I have about snow - if you're out and about in your car, and there's snow on it, how do you brush it off? Really long handled brush?
I can understand if you don't want to answer. How do you afford an accessible van or conversion? I see your on a manual wheelchair. Any suggestions on ways to purchase a motorized wheelchair? I only have use of my right arm and am currently on a walker. Any advice appreciated.
See if your state has a division of vocational rehabilitation. They assist people with disabilities to find work and help in enabling a person to have independence. For me, I had to purchase a base van, then the DVR paid for the conversion so I could drive myself to work.
I have a question... I am able-bodied and my spouse is an incomplete quad. He has CP so has feeling. To my question, when placing your feet and legs do you consider what would be comfortable for your legs and feet if you could feel? When I sit or when I am assisting my spouse, I place our feet and legs in a comfortable position. You placed your feet in what would be an uncomfortable position on the mover. I don't know if that is a possible issue or not? It just caught my attention because it is something that I assist with and consider every day. I do enjoy the videos, and understand the great effort in producing them. , know we do appreciate your efforts.
Yes I do think a lot about my feet position in daily life and always wear shoes just in case I bash into something or my foot is dragging. I haven’t had any issues on the mower position wise. Even though I can’t directly feel, my body has a way of letting me know when I’m uncomfortable. I get a sick feeling. There was one time my shoe was falling off my heel when I was mowing and I didn’t know it. The rubbing caused a blister so I know to keep my laces a little tighter now! 😬
@@ParalyzedLiving thanks fir the honest comments. After reading your note on wearing shoes, I make this remark, that is close to us. There is a real anger when a PWD does not take the time to dress properly. So often we see sweats and slippers... going for what is easy and not what takes more time but presents the person as a capable person. A pet peeve maybe but with a larger issue behind it. Thank you for sharing.
Do you do design work for handicapped modifications? Hint: Not good to plow clean snow to the road or across the road. If possible clean snow should be stored on your property to supply spring water for your plantings in case the spring is dry. It is good to find a place on your property where the excess snow can be stored.
Jeepers, you haven't posted in a million moons. I don't know about the being strapped in...if it flipped, you'd want to be thrown...not have it on top of you. You should have quick release belts.

Cool man, cool.
4 inches? In Nashville we would call that 3 feet of snow! 😜

What was the background song at the end?
That's such a great machine for you. Another question I have about snow - if you're out and about in your car, and there's snow on it, how do you brush it off? Really long handled brush?
Yep! I have an extendable scraper/brush made for large vans and SUV’s.
