Just picked up a Queen and a King Anthurium. Putting both in Leca because I have had mixed results with pon. Great to know about the need to flush. Love to see the journey!
I’m currently working STILL on my Queen. I’m going to try all of your methods. Thank you!!!! I do honestly feel that touching these delicate leaves will result in damage. If you watch closely you’ll see that the damage on the leaves is right where you’re touching it. You are a brave man tho……. Your Queen is GOALS!!!

Loved, loved this video so much that I subscribed to your channel. I have one Queen that I almost killed because I was treating it like a philo. Chunky aorid mix that I would let completely dry out :-) I now still have her on the aroid chunky mix but to it I added sand, vermiculite, and tree fern fiber and lava rocks (medium-samll size) I only water it when I see the sand beginning to dry out and guess what? she is pushing out a new leaf!!! so excited. I have been spraying the heck out of it with Rosseau foliar feed but, will start spraying with plain water because I also don't want too many nutrients to be absorbed through the leaf. I just purchased a couple of Lechuza planters (cubic) which is the only one that has a clear pot to keep an eye on the roots and I am planning on giving her a pole (filled with same mix she is in) I am going to wait to transfer her until the leaf hardens. Now, I do have a baby esmeralda queen on lechuza pon and she is smashing it! I have 3 beautiful baby leaves!!! fingers crossed. 50-60% humidity both of them not too close or far away from the grow lights and a fan nearby.
Another great video. I have such a love, hate, hate relationship with this plant. I love other people's but hate mine. Its such a moody "B" and i just cant figure mine out. Maybe ill start spraying mine and move it to pon to see if anything cha ges. I don’t think its happy in the heat of s fl oddly. Congrats on your success!
So much complexity for an elegant plant. I have learned from this. Tomorrow, I will be getting one from Florida. Going to not touch it for a few days for acclimation. My environment is almost same as yours in northern IL.
Ecuagenera lists warocqueanum as intermediate warm instead of warm. I think they do enjoy a bit cooler temperatures than most other velvety anthuriums. I feel that giving new import of queen a lot of heat might be the reason why people kill theirs
I have a question about when you said you were feeding it too often and now you only feed it once a month: I was under the impression that when growing in semi-hydro like pon, you always have nutrient solution in the reservoir (similar to LECA). Are you saying that you only keep nutrient solution in the reservoir sometimes and at other times just keep regular water in the reservoir? If so, how long do you leave nutrient solution in the reservoir before switching to plain water?
I got my queen like 2 weeks ago even smaler than yours. I'm looking forwart to grow her bis ... but got a lot of repect because we know she's a worryqueanum 😅😂. But I'm so haopy you made this honest video about her! 🤗
Can you show us how you make your top cones for the roots..bc its very interesting and I would like to try it out on my Florida green and especially my philodendron billietiae that I don't want to loose. Thanks Kevin my toronto neighbor.

I learned the hard way when repotting in Pon to remove the old Pon so the roots will be able to breathe. I a few die from root rot.

What do I do if the roots grow into the reservoir? The yellowing edges is happening on a lot of my anthuriums because of that.

As a cannabis grower that uses salts you have to flush. Salts onnmy house plants oo. Once a month they only get water that I PH.
