    1. Charlie is adorable with his buddies.
    2. The RV park guy was a total character.
    3. That car wash was ridiculous. But they did a good job.
    4. I miss my kid. We are volunteers in different countries. So I'm glad you got to visit with Tori.

I love all of your episodes. I just started going through Season 1 and Wow. What a difference. Just received the KYD Hat and I'm so happy. Then getting your rig washed just puts a huge smile on my face because of the pride you guys have of your house. Its because your family I recently bought a new dually and looking to get a toy hauler by Summer. Cheers to many more years of KYD!

Thank you! I'm watching this 12 22 19 and Christmas is very different this year!! One of my four children and their spouse and children have moved. So for the first time, we'll be doing Christmas very differently! As we approach retirement, I expect it will continue to change. I needed to hear, that reminiscing is one thing, but living in the moment and looking forward to new traditions is a great way to embrace the holidays for all of us, today, now. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

I just love how much fun Charlie had frolicking with the other dogs. Hey Trish - maybe you should get a companion for Charlie?
Also, for the future, maybe dad should rig a rope up in the trees so he can just lift those wires and tie them off during your visit. Those were cable/phone wires by the way, don't try lifting your 600 volt house feed standing on an aluminum ladder.

My surge protector saved my rig at a gated high end campground on a premium 50 amp site. This place was nice, nice, nice! So the power goes off. The breaker is popped and everything is hot. I called the maintenance guy, he's verrrry skeptical! "Alot of these surge protectors are overly sensitive!" Long story short, he ended up changing all the plug sockets and breakers. Plugged the surge protector back in, everything was fine! Best money I spent on the camper so far!

    :-) Tori's back!
People in the way / watching, can be very distracting.... especially when they start asking questions. Check out getting a lock for your surge protector so you can lock it to the power pedestal. 20:40 I spent about 6-7 weeks in San Antonio at Lackland AFB for USAF Basic Training... I remember the torrential rain storms and lightning.
There's a new air museum that opened here in Spokane, WA on the 17th/ Front and center is a C47 / DC3. I had to go see if after remembering your C47 flight at Oshkosh.

Love your videos. We have their hard wired protection and it gives good peace of mind. We also pull the 50A cord up onto the flatbed and it is coiled around the Reese 50K Goosebox hitch. We try to leave the shore power on until after the hookup to keep from depleting the batteries ... and our book says to do it that way. The auto levelers take a lot of power when running the hydraulics. And YES, moochdocking is the best!

Your daughter is graduating from the teenage years to her twenties. In February, my granddaughter is graduating from the teenage years to her twenties. You are making me feel old!! When they were still at home, my children really loved RVing. Now, after my wife passed away, I am the only one who has an RV. I always say that it is my link to sanity. The day after Christmas, I yank it down to Florida for the winter, leaving Indiana winters behind. At least I am not too old to do that!!

That was cute Marc, I'm glad that cord trick works for you. If you had a class A you could just push a button to retract the cord and the safety power manager is already built into the rig, so you don't have to leave it out where anyone can steal it. Love watching you guys....Walt

You guys are doing a great job with your videos. My wife and I watch them every week. I never did hear what the problem with the refrigerator and replacement refrigerator was. I think it is good that more people are aware of the quality control issues of all the different recreational vehicles out there. If the industry wishes to continue growing the need to put out a better quality product you can trust. I can also see you will probably be looking at a Class A pretty soon. Safe travels and would love to have you over for dinner and wine when you are next in Bend Oregon

I heard the deck comment too. Something big is in the works, but it's hard to imagine the toy hauler going away after only 6-7 months of use, and 10's of thousands in upgrades for solar, batteries, inverter, disc brakes all around.

    • @RushinTruckin

I love when dogs meet each other for the first time or see one another after a while 😂 Even if you got a screaming deal on like a used rig (they're out there if you know what to look for) the cost of replacing a fridge or an AC could easily put you over the amount you paid for the whole thing especially if you have them professionally installed. The surge protector is the cheapest electrical insurance ever.

Really everything about RVing. I’m not interested because I like to drive.vans. My son and take van trips. Last December my son Abe I took a trip to California. We went through. Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and then made it to Monterey California to see my niece. When we came back we came and stopped in Texas to see my cousin. On our way home we went up to Nebraska crossover to Illinois and came on home. We live on the North end of Illinois. Near Wisconsin. We love traveling, and I love the whole KYD movement. Keep on truckin KYD.

As if there wasn't more to love about you & your family! Knowing that a piece of your heart (Tricia's Daddy) is in TX and, Austin, no less, just makes this TX gal love y'all even more! My family & I are newbies to the rv world & live in what we call Canada in relation to Austin. (It's between Georgetown & Austin and about 20-45 mins north of Austin depending on what time & day you are traveling. Anything south of Austin we call Mexico in terms of geographic location. Lol! ) Our oldest (17) is also a ginger so this mama's heart has a special place for other mamas with gingers. (BTW, your daughter is gorgeous!) I've loved watching your travels but most importantly, been inspired by the way you do life with your family. Thank you for sharing the good, the bad, and the ugly with all of us in you tube land. We purchased our fifth wheel to have more adventures with our 17 & 14 year old & bring us closer together before they leave the nest. I've learned a lot through your parenting and the joy & love y'all have between one another is something my husband & I want to instill & cement in our own family. God bless you on your travels & God bless Texas! ❤️

As a dude w/ a toy hauler with a rzr in it, I apologize for the Class A hooking his toad in front of you. I can assure you we're going as fast as humanly and safely as possible. Driving a rig in to your living room is stressful enough without the pressure of someone waiting on you. I wish RV sites had a 'make ready' area like boat launch ramps do so I can unload the rzr, park it out of the way, hook up, and settle in easier.

I have been watching you guys more or less ever since you had your old dog.. more often now in the seasons of late. You guys do a great job, but if there is one thing you guys are teaching me, personally, is that I NEVER want a rig as big as that!! I am stressed over everything to do with its size and towing it. We had a 26ft TT with and F-150 and have steadily been downsizing ever since. We don’t full time mind you.. but we now have a tab 400 and feel like we have all the room we ever need and more.. plus without the stress! Lol
We also have a golden retriever who rules the roost 🥰

That's exactly why we wanted it... to show what it was like. Not to have a bunch of opinions about it, but simply share the process and viewers can make up their own mind.

I usually carry a second spare for the 5er behind the hitch in the bed where you coiled the power cord. 2spares better than one. Also those surge guards are not water proof. I had one leak in a heavy storm and fail. So I now use electrical tape to double seal where the cord enters the box part of the surge guard and also where the long cable plugs in at the bottom. It stays attached to the cable. Seems to work

Just wanted you to know (this is the day after Christmas), but my first 2 gifts I opened yesterday were KYD gifts. I got the cap and the winter beanie with the Pom-Pom. That will come in handy in 3 weeks as I didn’t really have anything for my head while traveling to ND. Keeping the cap for spring/summer/fall. My daughter knows what I like.

Welcome to the truck washes we have sat almost 3 hours at one. When you have trucks that pull in behind you, your stuck for the wait.

Just FYI, I believe the F-450 mirrors stick out around 10" to 14" (fully extended) wider than the widest section of the DRW body. At least on my 2019... Maybe I misunderstood what Trish meant?

That rain was very familiar. I recall driving through Dallas in a storm like that in a Freightliner Columbia several years ago. Impressed me, and I'm from Washington!

Great problem solving. I could have helped solve the egg problem yesterday when I visited our local egg farm and had a chat with the 'girls' but NZ is a bit far away from Texas to deliver fresh free range eggs. Lovely to see Tori again. Thanks for sharing the laughs and frustrations (truck wash). Have a wonderful Christmas and please give Charlie a hug and a scratch from me.

After dropping your cord connector on the grass several times, be sure to clean it off before you put it away or plug it in again so it won't corrode.

Couple of Humble Opinions: a) a shore power cord reel is worth every bit of what they cost. It's one of those things you put off and then buy it and kick yourself for not having bought it sooner. b) a power conditioner / surge protector that is hardwired and just before your power panel is THE best way of protecting your rig. I know that's a strong statement, but hear me out. I was at a GD rally when a buddy fried just about most of his rig's electronics and a few appliances. He had a pole mounted surge protector. So what happened? His shore power cord had a wire/plug connection issue inside the molded plug. So that surge protector did him no good. Had his protection device been just before the power panel, his faulty shore power cord would not have been an issue.
