- Nobody like to hear squeaky beginners. Which group is worse - Band or Orchestra? "Band doesn't sound squeaky like those beginning VIOLINS." "Aren't you forgetting about the CLARINETS?"
As a clarinetist, I can confirm that the clarinet is the one that loudest squeaks
As a person that is playing for percussion I could relate to this comment as well for your Clarinet 😭
I SQUEAK TOO MUCH especially during marching band and competition with a solooooo😭
As someone who plays tenor and clarinet, I can back this up by saying anything with a reed squeaks loud 😭
when I first got my clarinet, it was only me and my teacher in the room and I swear that is probably the loudest thing I've ever heard
No fr
as a violist, i can confirm the violinist used too much rosin
Fr
Fr tho like the violins AND cellos like
I can agree!
I play viola too
@Rbby_hi Viola players unite!!! ❤️
“Aren’t we forgetting about the clarinets”
Me: PTSD
Real
You: *never once forgetting about the clarinets* 😂
Me playing the clarinet for a year and still have squeaks :
@@RoscoeLee-xv1md real though
Alto Saxophone: *”You dare challenge me mortal?”*
Eh, we squeak more but way more quietly. That’s why I love saxophone
YAS
As a clarinetist, the amount of guilt that ran across my face on the clarinet part 😂. Yes, it’s very true though.
Well my band friends from another country, that's why I chose percussion. Easiest, doesn't squeak, and you can make the other instruments go faster and slower.
SAME AND ITS FUN
I can fuck with your tuning - tuba player
@@Evanw10282 Most percussion instruments don't need tuning?
I chose trombone
@@Octovoid all of the trombones ive ever met were all mentally unstable
“Aren’t you forgetting about the clarinets?”
Me who started clarinet around a month ago: 👀
Also my teacher taught me that those squeaks are just high notes that are out of tune :)
Lol
Emphasis on out of tune XD
I started in August :)
@@karsthestar I also started in August!^^ but I sounded horrible-
Bro mine squeaks so much and i have been playing for 2 years and no its your clarinet thats out of tune
I swear I can’t see a clarinet without immediately thinking of squidward 😭
as someone who plays the clarinet, i can confirm that i only chose it bc of squidward. i AM squidward now
Me. A clarinetist. Relatable.
same with sax's
@@-God_IS_Real-stop hurting my ears just from saying it 😭
but you have to remember, when clarinets and saxes squeak, they’re actually just hitting the high harmonic unintentionally
As a clarinetist, I can confirm we have very loud squeaks! In my band, you hear a squeak every so often from either our Bass Clarinets, Clarinets, Sax, and Alto Sax.
They both have precious places in my old band & orchestra playing memories! Funny funny🤣🤣🤣🎼🎶🥁🎻‼️🥰‼️
Dang, they called me out like that with clarinet
Omg yes! When I started clarinet I would squeak non-stop!🥲
Haha 😂 as a clarinet player and a violinist, I have learned a few things from being both in bands and in orchestras practices and this is pretty accurate for beginning orchestras and band but trust me you guys, as a veteran band kid and a professional/prodigy violinist I can say it gets better as you grow in experience
As a clarinet player, I can confirm we have some GIGANTIC ABSOLUTLEY EAR WRENCHING HIGH PITCHED squeks here and there that especially like to appear during concerts…
As a clarinetist I can confirm as well we are the ones who squeak the loudest
As a clarinet this is nothing but relatable.
Man I remember making all those squeaky noises with the violin
The lone contrabassclarinetist in the back. I feel you man
**enter saxophone**
As a clarinet player, I can relate
It's not easy to be squeak-free, right!?
Us clarinets are so quiet in my band but when we squeak all of a sudden the whole band hears it
Me being an orchestra kid AND a band kid: I’m stuck between two wars.
Stop this brings me back to when we were first learning over the break😭 we could not reach there if our life depended on it
My band class looks something like this:
Flute: 3rd grade recorder music
Oboe: *DUCK NOISES INTENSIFY*
Bassoon: SpongeBobs alarm clock
Saxophone: slightly more peaceful Bassoon
Clarinets: ✨SQUEEK✨
Trumpet: More 💫duck💫 sounds
Trombone: æÆÆ-
Euphonium: Carrying half the whole band class
Tubas: *Sounds like the same note repeatedly*
Xylophone: *Kid who doesn’t play xylophone: plays c scale*
Drums: scaring everyone there
I'm sorry. I feel your pain!
@@SchoolBandOrchestra it’s fine lol 🥲
I TIS THE DUCK/BAGPIPES
Hello? French horn is here too
@@AbsoluteInfinitySQ the french horns help carry the band
Me as a saxophone who used to squeak: 💀
This is so true all of them are squeaky, but I think that the violin is more squeaky because of all the strings. I was in band and I played in low brass and the clarinets were always squeaking, but I also also played violin and violin was always squeaking
As someone who plays the flute I’d like to recognize everyone else who plays the flute for tricking their ears into thinking we r not just making squeaking/screeching sounds 24/7😅😅😅
Solution get ride of all woodwind, high strings, and high brass and let the basses take over. (I'm totally not bias)
This is why I chose the trombone
I could agree with you I chose the drums
I got my schedule in PowerSchool and saw Concert Orchestra I am scared because I never played any instrument in my life
You will probably LOVE it! I do!!!
band is just better lowkey
shut up orchestra requires more skill
@@kawaii80yobro is so mad ur probably in orchestra that’s the only reason ur pissed
@@imthedenji i was joking about being angry lol
Can’t wait for an orchestra kid to come in and say
“At least we’re not suffocating after concerts”
tbh i think orchestra is kinda better
Refrase "aren't you forgetting about the Reed instruments "
True, true
as a clarinetist who has a concert literally tomorrow i can completely say that we are the squeakiest instrument in my school band.
That is so true with clarinet…
The flue also squeaks but usually it’s so high you can barley hear it
I've never heard a flute squeak before. I've heard it shriek before!
What about the barri tenor alto saxophones and bass clarinet and oboe THEY SQEEK SO LOUD
We have a clarinet squeak every single concert-
Menaces who play below the bridge and over the nut on orchestra instruments has entered the chat
French horns in everyday:
don't forget the saxophonists, god everyone in there except for me and my bro shilo squeak
And that sound is why I play the cello. I still sound horrible without the right amount of rosin, but it’s a low squeak for the most part.
I’m a flute player in the band, but don’t mess with our clarinets like that.
*laughs in brass*
As a clarinetist, I STONGLY agree that we are squeaky!
Haha I play violin and recorder, the 2 most squeaky instruments
As I clarinetist and a violinist... both
“Aren’t you forgetting about the clarinets?”
Me, a clarinetist, reminiscing about the last contest where one of us squeaked, landing us with an excellent: *maniacal painful laughter*
I play the French horn. And I can make squeaks but it’s very hard, especially because it’s a brass.
As an orchestra student.. Band doesn’t know how to shut up. Us violins can play a nice, quiet piece, but also a loud and exciting one :)
As a band student, trust me, we shut up, but only sometimes. I totally agree, but I find no interest in playing in orchestra. Anyways, I love y’all’s music even if never heard YOU play.
As an orchestra student… that is 100% true
As a band student, i can tell you whilst slso had played in orchestra bands pieces truly sound better sometimes both need each other for certain pieces but as have done both i can say band is better
funny i also play clarinet and violin and clarinet is just better then violin sorry orchestra kids but its the truth band is better
@@redfernfinch6313 lol i guess that means orchestra kids do aswell
Clarinetist here.
I’ve only been playing clarinet for 5 years but I still squeak!! 😂
As a beginner clarinet, relatable 😭😭
“Aren’t you forgetting about the clarinets?”
Me: ………
Tbh, as a clarinet, you can hear the squeaks standing out from us unlike violins and shtuff
Then again…. We can play louder, are instrument could POSSIBLY fit in our backpack, etc.
Me being a violinist and me hearing squeaks from my violin when i sometimes use my violin but not much now tho
As a clarinet player… yes we squeak
We play with the saxophones and the clarinets are way squeakier than the saxophones ever could dream of
I’m a flute and yes clarinets are squeaky as beginners
I play the violin at Franklin regional intermediate school
Keep playing - music is the best!
As a violinist I can confirm the violin is very squeaky.
As a first year clarinet I can confirm clarinets have the worst squeak or loudest squeak.
As a part of the clarinetists I can relate to that because I had a concert last week, and my mom took a recording and you can hear my squeaks clear as day.😢
As a clarinettist I can admit we squeak LOUD and A LOT (we also have a concert tomorrow sooo....)
As a clarinet player, I can confirm this is true
Yeah, we clarinets cringe too
Definitely expect the funny thing is, is that all the clarinets just laugh about it.
Bro I play Bass Clarinet and my squeaks be sound in like a dying mouse. 💀🤚🏼
As a violinist, I can confirm band doesn’t know how to shut up and that the person was putting too much weight on the bow and used too much rosin. It sounds great when you can play it good.
Yes, yes, and yes!
Forgot about me “bass clarinet”
posture goes hard
The good thing I’m a saxophone player in intermediate band and in honors band
That's why brass kicks @$$.
As a clarinet player of two years i confirm this 😭
The video this comes from: at least we don't have viola's. Me: in pain because I play a Viola
I ADORE my viola players - I call them the cream filling of the orchestra. The violins and cellos are just dry dark chocolate Oreos cookie shells. Everyone really loves the cream filling best. But everyone also likes to poke fun at the Alto-clef reading violists!
I play the violin and double bass but the viola is pretty cool too. Don't get why everyone hates them
The viola’s in my class barely make any noise and most of us violin players make jokes about them being bad. Yet, I am hoping to learn viola soon and I’m exited!
@@SchoolBandOrchestra honestly this is the best compliment I’ve ever heard towards the violas. So as a violist thanks!
In the orchestra I am in there are 3 really bad violas....
Yknow what's funny? Im a trombone player, and my friend let me try her viola. I absolutely nailed the sound and learned 3 chords by myself. The main reason was that im also a ukelele player, and i understand how string instruments are.
as a non-musician, it’s the recorder. even if you play it right it squeaks
as clarinet:
yes. but it was because i had the wrong reed size, (i started with a 3) and i had my lower lip to low. i changed out to a 2, and raised my lip, and now i play clear as any other instrument.
If there was a contest to see if band or orchestra squeaked more, the clarinet would carry the band
I play violin and clarinet, and they are both squeaky
double bass player here n i only squeak if i dont have a lot of rosin or if im playing too fast and not watching my movement across diff strings. bass sounds better at beginning tbh
It's their embouchure
Begginer bassoon player “cry’s in squeaks”
Meanwhile after High school they just combine
The violin may be squeakier in the beginging but only for a short time while clainets never stop squeaking
As a Violinist, I can confirm that Violinist definitely used too much rosin.
Aren't u forgetting that band sound like 27 different sections when u pass through the band classroom
all the saxophonists and the clarinetist in my band have squeaky instruments
What about saxophone
As a flutist, literally thats what happens in concert band on high notes. Clarinets wont stop squeaking every time. Meanwhile we produce the weirdest noise when we cant play high notes with the wrong amount of air.
*starts playing rosin eating zombies*
As a violist I have never heard a beginner violinist squeak like that and clarinets do be squeaking
I play violin, and I would say one thing, that the violinist used too much rosin. Also whenever I hear the band play in the other room all I hear is squeaks, now violinists don't actually squeak that often, it really only happens when the bow goes on top of the bridge or your using too much pressure, rosin and not moving the bow fast enough, and not using enough pressure can cause squeaking too.
violins always sound squeaky to me
Umm, I am a violinist and violins aren’t always squeaky. You have either seen fake violinists or beginners..
@@Big_James069 yeah I play the violin and double bass too. We don't sound squeaky as we progress further. Also if your shifting/bowing was good you won't sound like a dying something
Aren’t you forgetting that most of band instruments make you spit everywhere
Yep as a clarinet player I confirm I couldn't even play for a couple minutes bc I was squeaking so much😭😭😭
You should have heard my 5th grade band on the first day..💀💀💀
The contra player without a stool 🥹
Orchestra violin: 7 squeaks
Band clarinet: 2 squeaks
As a ex violist and current saxophonist, I can confirm that viola rarely squeaked as it is mostly band instruments that squeak. (Not picking favorites just honest)
Im just learning to play violin to be honest and learning violin while playing flute for a band is hard
aren’t you forgetting about the squeak of a tenor saxophone
