I knew it would work. With enough engineering, even a Koenigsegg Regera could go off road and do well. I think its just that the Viper is almost as ideal as you can get for a robust supercar to be converted into a rally car, its already prepared largely for having its underpinnings replaced with rally capable components, it just unfortunately doesn't have enough space to add a transfer case or a front differential, but that just means Baja Claws :P

I half-expected to see flames shooting out of those side-pipes every time you accelerated (that would be a pretty cool addition actually). Looking forward to seeing more of it. For the steering, I wonder if it might help to build some give into the linkage somewhere. Maybe a cup & pin arrangement with a stack of Belleville washers in the tie rods. Not enough to let the wheels flop around, but just to take a little edge off of the hard hits. Doesn't take much to improve on a completely rigid linkage.
A cabin air filter i highly reccomend, not just cause or the dust but if youre running the AC the dust sticks and builds up to the evaporatoe core and will eventually limit the airflow through the vents to nothing.
I don't know anything about the viper, but something I saw in the old 4runners, even some Suzuki's is some people putting a bracket around the air inlet in the cowl, and adding a removable filter. The only problem is you have to remove that trim every time which if you know old cars, loves to snap. You likely have to cut into the plastic for access and also need a beauty cover made, which I assume would be done by Sendcutsend.
You must be an enginee and its awesome that you are putting your skills to use in a hobby. This car makes my inner child smile. It reminds me of an awesome video game version of this car. Awesome job man!

You've done what all of our inner childs whished we could do and built a proper, real-life, reason-be-damned Hot Wheels car.
That is insane. MecE student here, doing shit like this is my dream!
There isn't a single thing cooler on RUclips. Grind hard plumbing monster chopper is a close second
Check out C90adventures! Guy took a mini jeep to Moab and latest is taking it to Area 51
Depends how much you like Vipers, I guess? I never really thought them THAT cool, so the monster chopper is cooler to me.
@@nomindseyeIt's less about how cool the Viper is or isn't. It's moreso that fact that the Viper wasn't built for this in any way.
Currently, there is more cool builds on yt than ever, I think 😁
@@nomindseye I'm 38 years old. The Viper was the coolest car in the world when I was a kid
I love that philosophy "all of your offroad problems can be solved with an 8 liter v10"
The rally scene hit my feeds from outta no where. All the sudden I’m seeing everyone getting into rally. Pretty cool build.
This is engineering I can support. Great content, you're giving me positive vibes for my own future builds.
420 centi-miles per gallon. Nice!
Hope you brought a whole case of air filters with ya! :D
And.... I'm pretty sure I coughed when you turned on the blower. :O
I LOVE WHEN PPL DO SPORTCARS OFFROAD
THAT'S MY FAVORITE TUNING/MODIFICATION THING
OMG this is amazeballs! I never ever imagined this combination!
Missed opportunity to say the Viper got 4.20 MPG at 10:05 😂
I don't think Ive ever clicked a video so fast
Same here!!
AWESOME!
Okay now make it four-wheel drive by adding two electric wheel hub motors and a teeny tiny battery somewhere. Off-road viper hybrid!
Bonus points if the weight to battery ratio is so bad it results in a net MPG reduction
@@piedpiper1172 haha yeah and maybe strap the batteries to the hood so it has like a 90% to the front weight balance.
I stopped everything I was doing at work to watch this, I was looking forward to this day 😭
It drives so gooooood!
Edit: "enough"
That thumbnail!!!!
I've been here far longer than I remember and I'm truly glad to see the Offroad Viper in action!!! AMAZING AND WILD is all I can say!!!
That's sick. Really sick
After almost three decades in the automotive aftermarket in SoCal, things get old and lame, especially in Newport, but I was smiling all the way through this video 😊
Amazing for a first time offroad on a build like this, only 1 catastrophic failure! Very cool build, when are you putting on paddles and hitting some dunes? 😈
