Network Censor #1: Is this a show about social commentary on U.S. involvement in a jungle war in SE Asia? // Network Censor #2: Far as I can tell, it's a show about a white gorilla and a chick in leather pants. // Network Censor #1: Well, all right then.
Very similar to what was aired. I wish a line for McCoy had been added…something along the lines of “The trouble with a ‘balance of power’ is that it could, just as on 20th century Earth, lead to a state of mutually assured destruction.”
A commentary on the Vietnam War that I am sure the censors or management would not allow. It's too bad because it is a salient point that any of the wars in the last 75 years could be categorized into starting with Korea and up to the Ukrainian conflict at present.

The nuclear arms race proved that point. I'm not sure we have learned anything since then.
Where are you getting these from?

Funny thing was this episode tried to justify US involvement in Vietnam. It did not age well.
