Everything controlled through touchscreen! Bring back switches and buttons that are much more user friendly and need one press, no scrolling through menus to find what you’re after. Eyes on the road!
It's extremely dangerous that you can't use touch and feel to adjust aircon while keeping your eyes on the road. Having to look and navigate through a touchscreen to do that now is a joke.

I don't know why they (journalists) are using that phrase to avoid saying the car is ugly when it is straight up ugly. Aggressive is another thing and should not be used interchangeably with ugly.

Yes, thats the first thing I spotted, the downgraded power in the performance version! Thats the 2nd time now. Ive decided to not renew my3 year old 135, will be going for a new Yaris GR.

@@galahaaad maybe not but when you run a company that sells cars and it’s competing with others then that product either needs to be cheaper or be unique to command the price it’s commanding. Why would I buy a 40 odd grand M135 over an S3. It does that same things but has less power so as far as I can see it doesn’t have anything over its rivals and it’s not cheaper.
It appears that the new M135 is like many of the other facelifts within the BMW range have been given a directive and that is to reduce costs!…….changes to engines, dilution of specification and cheaper trim but an increase in price.
Corporate Greed has no bounds!

I built one recently to the same spec as my F40 the cost for a 1 series was £51,555,00
Grille looks better than the f40 but overall front end reminds me of a Corsa or Mazda 2. Definitely prefer the rear of the f40.

I think it looks better than its predecessor, that isn't too difficult tbh. But that rims are horrendous, proper for a daily Renault or citroen but not for BMW M.

It is now small selector in the centre console.

Im happy with my bmw m135i the new one looks like its more technology but the engine is worse the new cars are going suck with this new speed limiter and less power and torque going from 450 to 400 and 306 to 300 hp 😂
400 Nm and 300hp is more than enough for hatchback sized car

I think the car looks good. Can understand the Kia reference, but still it's different and not a Kia.
But what I do mind and hate the most is that they added the M-paddles in a non-M car... keep them unique to the M-cars for gods sake. There are so many other M-decals and emblems enough on the non-M's.

Matt, yes agree. One of the best cars BMW produce. The new mid life 'face-lift''...[it is a lot more than that!] brings the 1 Series 'bang up to the minute. Certainly, the M135 is a spec like this can rival the Golf GTi for sure. Not least in terms of build quality and interior. BMW ahead of the game of just about every Car manufacturer when it comes to interiors and build quality.
Correct me if i am wrong [often am!] but has there not been an increase in Horse power too? I think i read it somewhere.
One last thing now like the '1' designation on the C pillar. All in all as stated one of BMW's finest [current] vehicles. More from Goodwood?

How can a lci be worse in pretty much every area?
Being a BMW fan and especially hot/super hatches. This is woeful, it had so much potential being a better looking car. Lack of innovation, disappointing interior and the only thing going for this car is the quad exhaust.

Except build quality and quality of materials. I should know as my partner has an M135i and I’ve got a mk8 Golf R! Golf is easier to drive though.

Seeing 4 exhaust tips on this is an abomination. Bmw is losing it... unless if it was an M1 or 1M hatch.
I mean what does this offer, its just the same as an Audi s3, A35 Amg, golf R etc. At least it offered unique rwd before but if i wanted a point and shoot don't need any skill to drive type car I'd put more faith in VW setting up the chassis as that's their bread & butter...plus this is hideous 😂😂🤢
Interior is nice, really nice actually, exterior is quite the opposite it is so UGLY. It looks like a kia mixed with a fiesta. Disgusting.
Being fwd and the absolute lack of volume by the wheel arches look so lame on those new bmws. Even the non m e82 had a lot more girth. Newer ones looks too soft, and resembles a regular Corolla with those flat wheel arches.
Front wheel drive bias with up to 50% to the rear when needed. I had the previous m135i you'd never know it was front wheel drive and to be fair all the other four wheel drive premium cars from Audi VW Mercedes are front drive bias

It's pretty simple really, the DCT trans is rubbish same as the X1m35 xdrive, and 50nm less in the same engine configuration as the F40, how did bmw manage to go backwards, they really have NFI
When it was the Aisin auto gearbox people said the same thing.

@@JohnGuidetti751 quite jerky in traffic, in sport it's over eager, example from a stop med throttle it feels like your clutching the vehicle, very weird trans program, they've put in, and that was over a week that I had the press vehicle .

@@SytnerTV This is down on HP, torque on the previous gen. Lost the gear knob, the idrive controller, the physical buttons for climate control, looks uglier than the older model. More expensive. I could go on
