    Wow, I never knew MJW played bass! He picked it up around the same time and age that I did. Just shows that music rises above all socioeconomic classes, races, genres professions, etc.

    Malcolm is a very talented artist and a very intelligent and humble person!!!!! I had no idea that he went to the Musician's Institute!!!! That means he's serious about the bass and music!!! To paraphrase a line from Spider-Man,' Bass players have great power, and with that power comes great responsibility." His father went to college with Gil-Scott Heron and Bryan Jackson? WOW!!! Malcom is so on point regarding Paul Denman! Thank you for a very interesting interview!!!

    I remember when he released their first album,I knew he was serious about playing and listening to him about his influences,Graham,MillerGil Scott Heron,Brian Jackson,Paul Denman (Sade,Sweetback) so he’s on it,he’s played some music festivals,here in the ATL

    Dude is a renaissance man. Encountered him as a lil kid watching Cosby Show, later randomly learned he was a bass god, ran INTO this mfer with Poetri Smith when I was on the open mic circuit. TF does he not do?

      Okay, that's what I thought, but he wasn't clear on what he does to de-tune. Drop E to D and follow the same on the other three strings? Are we talking four or five string bass?
      Would have been helpful had he shared more details. Perhaps that's a bit of knowledge that could help others who seek improvement in their understanding and playing electric bass as well. Just my thoughts.
